Rolf had the episode where the Eds try to cure his homesickness in the construction site. Sarah had the episode where the Eds steal her diary. Jimmy had the Episode where Eddy teaches him everything his brother taugh him. Kevin had the episode where the uncanny abscence of the Eds makes him parranoid as the other kids celebrate. The Kankers had the episode where Ed accidentally steals their ship-in-a-bottle, thum making them go on a genocidal rampage upon the cul-de-sac. May had the episode where she thinks she's too ugly for Ed, so Lee & Marie kidnap him. Lee & Marie haven't had any episodes dedicated to them, which is a bumber. Johnny had the episode where the Eds try to find him a new "friend" after he broke up with Plank. I’ve always hated the Kanker sisters, but it wasn’t until watching this video where I truly got why if that makes any sense? The Kanker sisters are simultaneously some of the worst, most despicable, most needlessly cruel characters within Ed, Edd n Eddy, while also being invinceble to quite literally ANYTHING that ANY of the other characters do to knock them down a few fucking pegs. The writers took the concept of the Mary Sue character, FUCKING TRIPLED IT, and than they decicided to keep the invincible strength and never being able to be defeated by any other characters part of Mary Sue characters. While simeltaneously making the three of them all exact FUCKING REPLICAS of Patrick from his Fucking Prick Episodes.
@jstarwars3604 жыл бұрын
It's what the writers use when they don't know how else to prevent the Eds from winning.
@fluffypangolin72294 жыл бұрын
I genuinely just do not know. The Kanker sisters are just so needlessly cruel and essentially absuive towards the three Eds. That I don’t know WHAT the hell the writers were thinking making them some of the main, recurring characters within the cast. It MIGHT be because they thought that these sisters were a sort of deconstruction or subversion of the Mary Sue trope???? As in, typically the Mary Sue is always successful and completely invincible, BUT also always kind and nice. But the writers of Ed, Edd n Eddy made the Kanker sisters always UNKIND, mean, and absuive towards the Eds. While fitting all of the other characteristics/cliches of the Mary Sue characters trope. I don’t know, but even if the Kanker sisters WERE supposed to be a subversion/parody of the Mary Sue trope, the writers definitely fucking failed at making it. A funny or interesting subversion of that trope. I don’t know WHAT a good subversion/parody of the Mary Sue trope would look like exactly, but I certainly do believe that what the writers of Ed, Edd n Eddy did with their writing for the Kanker sisters. Was NOT it, as their Mary Sue nature seems to be played straight within the show, with the main ‘comedy’ of the Kankers coming from the other aspects of their characters. @@fluffypangolin7229 The only thing I can think of is that they contrast the other kids. Throughout the series, the Eds are constantly trying to win the approval of the other kids but are constantly excluded. The Kankers are the only characters on the show who consistently want to spend time with the Eds but the feeling isn't mutual. It's what makes the Eds relatable, as we often have people we want to be friends with but only attract the attention of bullies. If the Kankers are based off of girls who harassed the creator, as some online say, it feels way too overblown/exaggerated.

11:45 I must personally disagree with this one The comedy in the sticky note episode came from getting DD to do more and more ridiculous things until Eddy was trapped by his own prank and even confessing didn't get him out of it. In this episode, everything that Ed and Eddy do builds up to that final cathartic "FUCK YOU" that Kevin and DD hand them. Ed and Eddy convince him he's going to die so that he'll leave them alone to prank/harass Kevin. It's a different punchline with a different setup.

@brianlevine8714 жыл бұрын
'If it Smells Like an Ed' is still my most hated episode, even with its clever mystery. As for the ones on the list: 10. This one wasn't too bad for me, mainly for some of the crazy antics with the Eds in the Kankers' home. Although, you did bring up a good point that this episode could've had a stronger setup for the Kankers by showing why they fell in love with the Eds in the first place. And yes, I hated it whenever they randomly appeared in other episodes just to ruin the Eds' scams. 9. Rolf may be my favorite of the other kids, but the way he acted in this episode was unpleasant. I felt so bad for Ed here, and the fact that Rolf got away with no punishment here, or at least without properly apologizing to Ed really left a bad taste in my mouth. 8. The only thing I liked about this one was the running gag with Rolf and his baloney. Everything else was just weak. 7. I loved the pranks Ed and Eddy pulled on Kevin, and the ending where Kevin and Double-D got their revenge was great. Although, the way they pranked Double-D was not cool, at least for making him believe that he would die from this disease. Even then, I don't hate this one since some of the 'tests' they did were kind of amusing. 6. This all could've been avoided if Nazz just told Eddy why she was here. Then again, Eddy's parents could've told him earlier, even if we never saw them on-screen. 5. Considering how bizarre the boomerang episode was, this one could've benefitted from all of the Eds getting cursed. Maybe have it start out with just Eddy getting cursed, and then Ed receives some of the results, and finally Double-D, all within the first couple of minutes. Maybe from then on they could all develop their own reactions to the phone, with Eddy and Ed believing in the curse, and Double-D still trying to rationalize all of these events before finally grasping the phone's supernatural effects. 4. Kevin humiliates Eddy and gets away with it. What else needs to be said. 3. Excluding the awful ending, this Halloween special was actually a lot of fun for me. Ed's horror-movie vision provided a lot of creativity with the various monsters and it perfectly emphasized the Halloween atmosphere. Plus it was amazing seeing how crazy Ed was becoming with his warped mind. Although, I agree 'The Day the Ed Stood Still' was an overall better episode, especially with Ed's AWESOME monster costume. 2. The only positive things I can say about this one were seeing Double-D's bathroom taken down and Nazz actually helping Double-D during his crisis. Otherwise, I didn't care for this one too much. 1. Yeah, we can bury this photo and forget about it.
@TheRandomYoYo4 жыл бұрын
Most of these episodes work because they capitalise on what kids of 9-14 years of age go through. A lot of kids fell in love with their teen babysitters, A lot of kids had opposite sex bullies who had a crush on them. One episodes that stands out to me is the skipper episode. I had that problem, where I was constantly made fun of because of my last name. And I should hate that episode, but for some reason I really empathised with Eddy. Same with the Fairytale episode. The eds didn't have problems being in a teddy bear costume because they were hoping to get something out of it. And them being forced into that costume predicament was why it was humiliating. I am pretty sure most of us who watched the show had a thing we used to do, but when we were forced to do it (play piano in front of a friends for example) we would hate it. This is what most of the show does, same with the hypochondriac Edd. Sidenote: You talk about logic yet you fail to notice the cursed phone requires a ritual to stop the curse from happening? Not just having it taken? It's pretty out there. And for someone who seems to put a bit too much thought in the character development of a cartoon (yes a cartoon need not have character development, but a stereotype with moral behind it) you ignore the cross episode character persona. Eddy is the butt of the joke most of the time because in most episodes he causes a lot of problems for the rest of the cast, many a time on purpose.

As we started with this video, I wonder what happened to Jem Reviews since his first video was EEnE-related. He hasn't posted a video in months. 10. The One That Introduces the Kankers - While the episode is meh, I do hate Lee and Marie. As for May, she is the least dangerous by comparison. They were based off of Danny Antonucci's experiences in his youth, but... I also agree that season 1 is inferior to 2 through 4. Also everybody, Kanker ex Machina was the term I came up with myself. :3 9. The episode where Rolf loses it - This one was weird. 8. The one where NOTHING happens - I LOATHE this episode, and the bologna running joke could have been funnier. I never really thought nothing happened, but this felt thinner compared to other episodes. 7. The One That Reminds You of Current Events - Eddy (and Ed to an extent) were horrible to Edd, who is supposed to be their friend. Just because they want to tease Kevin after he gets grounded. 6. The Babysitting episode - Eddy doesn't really deserve the humilation he got once the party occurs. Nazz could be slightly older than Eddy by a few months, so it might justify the babysitting. 5. Sorry, Wrong Ed - Ah, this one. It could be argued that Eddy was cursed because he was more interested in the phone than helping Rolf disposing it. However, I hated how Edd acted in this episode because it makes him seem uncaring towards Eddy. 4. The Middle Name Episode - Aside from most of Ed's bits being funny, this episode was a trainwreck. 3. The Halloween episode - I agree that the Halloween special is the worst of EEnE's specials and the Valentine's special is the best. Also, screw this ending to Hell. To think it's one of Danny's favorite episodes... 2. The One Where Edd Needs a Shower - Things went downhill once Edd ends up in cow crap... 1. The One Everyone Hates - Well, I do hate this too. And so does Jem Reviews. Kevin should've been punished at the end for once, and at least the Kankers just have one specific scene in the middle. But again, the sole pro was what Ed does throughout.

I think every Ed Edd n Eddy fan should use the term Kanker Ex Machina whenever they show up onscreen. Because that is literally 99% of their appearances. This was especially notable in episodes like Key to my Ed or A Town Called Ed. How I would fix Smile for the Ed: Have Eddy try to one up everyone in having the best school photo. So in order to take him down a peg Kevin ruins his picture as payback for trying to do better than everyone else in his usual antics. Then that way the punishment is more justified. Also make some funny jokes. A lot of school episodes really lacked a lot of the jokes Seasons 1-4 had.

Even as a kid, I never liked "Cleanliness is Next to Ed-Ness" because of those same reasons you stated and it always made me feel super uncomfortable everytime I watched it. How does Double D deserve any of this?? Even with Nass being the only person to have some selflessness to take him in and offer him the chance to clean himself up (despite her not removing her personal belongings from the shower itself), it still does not save it for me at all and always felt super bad for him. It's more of depressing to sit through rather than enjoyable and it's especially telling with how awful that episode is with Eddy being the first person to kick him out of the house and not allow him to shower. Ed tends to be the one whom Eddy has more of an annoyance with at times out of the two and doesn't often have as much tensions with Double D, yet he throws him out when asking for something that's a necessity?? Also, I have always been someone who's very kind, polite, hardworking in school, and holds very high standards when it comes to someone's hygiene or my own much like Double D. For me to see him slowly descend into madness and see his hygiene decline over that episode, it has never been a good experience whenever watching that episode.
@rhondahoward80254 жыл бұрын
"Cleanliness to Next to Edness" is nothing more than a stupidly contrived torture-porn fest for Double D. Firstly, why would his parents remove the entire freaking bathroom for renovation? Second, Eddy won't let Double D inside to use his shower because why again? Seriously, remember in Pop Goes the Ed where he was super accomodating to his friends, told Double D to sit anywhere he wanted, and told them that his house was their house as long as they didn't do anything he wouldn't do? Yeah, what four seasons of flanderization will do to you. Also, Double D, WHO CARES ABOUT THE STUPID BRAS. Remove them and take your damn shower!
@Lauren_2104 жыл бұрын
rhonda howard In regards to the bras, I suppose he was shocked the moment she slide the curtains because of the fact that she would be someone who leaves her clothes hanging inside the shower and left her shaver sitting right by the side of her bathtub. As a kid, I personally took it as that she did not have the decency to remove those things herself right before Double D was about to shower and that he felt afraid about the possibility of having to remove those things himself. Given that the boys have a crush on Nazz and they are around 12-13 years old (they attend junior high so I suppose they are around that age), I’m surprised as to how Double D did not find her undergarments and bras hot or something lol. Their hormones would be going crazy over female undergarments and especially bras lol. 😂 I have no idea about the renovation of the entire bathroom. I don’t really think that would be realistic when wanting to fix a shower or something. It’d be one thing if the house was being built and have to install all of the walls, floor tiles, toilet, sink, the pipes, and shower, but that’s not what’s happening there and there’s no way any parents would leave their child alone with an entire bathroom gone and have them figure out alone how to shower. I don’t know why Double D didn’t just wash himself manually using the sink from the kitchen. That could have worked if the water supply wasn’t completely turned off.

Controversial opinion: I think Sorry Wrong Ed is one of the better episodes of the series. Hell, it's one of my personal favorites. Main reason being: the slapstick style humor in it really shines in it. I mean, just look at the ice cream cart scene alone. That shit's hilarious. Also, I don't think the whole ending with Double D is a bad thing. In my opinion, it's clever since it shows that Edd's smarts aren't perfect. His brain refused to consider the idea of supernatural influences, and thus reasoned that it was all coincidence. That, and I just don't think an episode can really be considered "bad" over a single moment. I know Enter talked about more than that moment, but still. Granted, I've always been kinda a simp for this show and never really considered any episode "terrible." Even the more controversial ones like the Friendship Day episode. But, that's just me.

I do wanna say in defense of No Speak Da Ed, they were implying through flashbacks that Rolf had some childhood PTSD that was being triggered by Ed’s wolf souvenirs. But yeah, it probably would’ve been better if he was punishing someone instead of just lashing out at the completely innocent Ed.

I appreciate your criticism of these bad episodes. I love Ed Ed n Eddy but some of these episodes made me turn off the TV when I was young. I agree. It's frustrating to see the Eds punished when they don't deserve it.

Fun fact: When I was a kid, I never knew what Eddy was referring to when he would say "I'M A MINOR, STOP!" Child me would get confused, thinking that Eddy was referring to coal miners. So that line/joke always went over my head. #10: As a kid, I always remembered being neutral about the Kankers. I didn't really like them, but I didn't really hate them either. But yeah, from what I can remember, their characters boiled down to "sexual assault", always harassing the Eds (and Kevin in one episode... where he was rescued by Ed, who actually SCARED THE KANKERS OFF. I wish I could remember which episode that was...). I do remember seeing the Kankers in a positive light over negative in two episodes, the movie and the one where Jimmy hires them for revenge; the former because the Kankers showed genuine care for the Eds, while the later I felt was satisfying because the Eds kind of deserved it. Also, there is a lot of fanart over the web for these three, Marie in particular. I don't know why, but Marie did seem to stand out over the other two to child me... maybe it was because of the blue hair... #6: I just always assumed that Jimmy's heart yearned for Sarah, which is why he never went all goo goo eyed at Nazz. I was always curious why Rolf never fawned over. My personal head-canon is that Rolf follows the bro code, and since Kevin is his best friend, that's why he never went after Nazz (He even tried to help Kevin win Nazz over in an episode). But most people just say that Rolf is Rolf, and he is just weird. #4: I remember this episode because this is, in my opinion, where many fan fics were born, all because Kevin forced Eddy to kiss Double D. Also, I never got why Skipper was a funny middle name. #3: So that Halloween episode did exist! I thought it was just some fever dream that I had as a kid. (Also, I remember the Valentine's Day episode. Sarah and Jimmy where little fairies that Rolf beat the heck out of. Also, that episode implied that May was secretly smart, and I think Double D started to have a crush on her by the end of the episode, and then nothing was done with it.)

Double D being a dude of science a fact, he's gonna be the way he is in the phone episode but I totally get it. There's no sympathy for his friend who's always getting hurt. And I think it was good to have Rolf introduce the cursed phone because it makes people think, "naaah Rolf thinks crazy shit all the time" to "oh damn. The crazy Rolf was right"
@MidnightWhisper2 жыл бұрын
I get being one of science but, I think it would've worked better if Double D believed there's some merit in Rule of 3 or had heard of it, and laughed it off the first 2-3 times, (or when the scenarios just started getting stranger and stranger) but after that, his denial came from a place of fear since he's still a kid (and that'd be scary and not something his mind could logically explain anymore), or at least seeing a pattern that should be investigated as to why that's happening. And even if he didn't, I can see him, instead of ignoring Eddy, not liking that Eddy believes it's a curse and is trying to pass the curse to someone else. Eddy was wrong.

Although I like most episodes of Ed Edd n Eddy my least favorite would have to be the episode where Ed and Jimmy both are fighting over who gets to take care of Sarah while she's sick. I can understand Ed is trying to show his love in being a big brother, but in the end when he gives Sarah a hug to try stopping her crying she just attacks him for no reason and that's pretty fucked up.

yoshifan30 best guess certain episodes weren’t so great, which to an extent I agree and rolfs shepherd ptsd episode is definitely one of them, school can be seen as more dull setting especially when the setting itself is meh, they didn’t like the change to the cleaner look of animation than the paper drawn one though I personally don’t have a problem with it, and the scams felt rather weak compared to the past ones at least some of them anyway. Ed, Edd and Eddy is one of my favorite childhood shows and still remains one of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen. It's in my top 10 favorite cartoons, because it never failed to make me laugh - even in some of their weaker episodes. I am aware that there are indeed some terrible episodes, likes the ones you listed off here, but I still can't bring myself to think any less of the show. The Eds were the Three Stooges of my childhood and to this day I still find them hilarious. I'll honestly take Ed, Edd and Eddy at its worst over Thundercats Roar at its best.

I actually disagree with you when it comes to all characters being jerks. Ed isn't a jerk. He is stupid, but unlike other stupid characters, he is still good natured, cares about his friends, IS LOYAL, and his stupidity doesn't really hurt anyone but himself. He is just taken advantage of by everyone, and the episode when he shits on everyone is catharsis for all of the times the kids abuse him.

Double D is intelligent kind as Ed and doesn't want to be left alone by his parents beside him being surrounded by Eddy Ed Sarah and many others in cul de sac it would be different if his parents has moved into the forests or big cities having privacy or mansions with doudble d. Then isolation takes forms inside Double D mind and mental health. There is no sign of parents they are either unsupervised or left by themselves

Honestly I still think Eddy deserved punishment in that phone episode. He takes an object Rolf is clearly worried about and while yes, Rolf is strange, its still likely that at least something has to be wrong with it and Rolf clearly doesn't want to give it away but bury it and Eddy tricks him into acquiring it, he then tries to pawn it back off on Rolf when he is aware its curse and similarly tries to do it to Johnny at the end, even gluing it to his head so if it did actually pass the curse to Johnny (I imagine the ritual Rolf did breaks the curse) then Eddy just condemned Johnny to a lifetime of pain and misery. One would think you'd just try to destroy it or bury it, especially after seeing Rolf try to bury it but he just tries to pass the curse onto someone else and thankfully it doesn't work like that. I can see the argument that Double D was being a double dick, but at the same time I can imagine him being annoyed that someone believes something that at least at first, seems like complete bullshit and never once tries to listen to their explanation of the events. Yeah, he showed a surprising lack of care which is out of character but when no one is listening to you, that would get annoying and at the end, as far as Double D is concerned, this is as he says, proof positive because Eddy doesn't have the phone but is still getting hurt, so you could see it as just terrible misfortune and not a curse. Its still a torture porn episode and Double D is out of character but I can somewhat see why he acts that way and Eddy did deserve it ignoring all warning signs, clear ways to stop being injured (gets injured when phone is answered, permanently prevent phone from being answered by burying it) and then tries to curse others including the person who tried to warn him of the curse and an innocent by standard. He was an idiot and near the end, being terrible by trying to give someone else the curse.

If Double D wasn't out of character it'd probably be fine, not a good episode but just forgettable. Double D never really seemed like someone who would believe in curses.
@pyromania10182 жыл бұрын
Eddy tried to pass the curse along out of desperation, and as explained in the video, Rolf is NOT the most sane guy when it comes to modern tech, so Eddy had every reason to be skeptical about his claims. And Double D cared more about "being right" than Eddy getting horribly injured. Ultimately, no, Eddy did not deserve this, and your defense of Double D makes him even worse: he cares more about "being right" with little to no actual proof that he is, than seeing his friend get mauled.

Now, this is my show, so I think I will add some few thoughts to...at least a few of your points as we go along. 10 - Kankers Okay, I get where you're coming from here. I haven't watched that many episodes in recent time, so I cant properly rank the episode itself anywhere, but I see why you'd put it at least at the lowest of the "Worst 10" just for introducing the Kankers. Fair enough. 9 - Rolf in Sheep's clothing Ah, the age-old mistake of beating up a character that has done nothing wrong. It's a very boring episode, but I wouldn't go so far as to put it this far down...until I realize, yeah, Ed is being mauled for no fault of his own, and Rolf, one of my favorite characters, is at his most low in the series. Rolf and Ed are really good friends, as far as I'm concerned with the show, or at least Rolf has a level of respect for the guy. So....this episode is hard to watch in retrospect, because it does feel like none of the things Rolf and Ed has done together....matters in the eyes of Rolf, at all. 8 - Another Reason to Hate Jimmy Not only does nothing happen, the last scene is...confused. Like, the Eds tried to cheer (and scam) Jimmy with the fairy tale stuff, but...then Jimmy just wants his quarter back, and....Kevin is there because.....I don't understand the ending of this episode. At all. Also, yes, it is boring. 7 - Doctor Ed Nothing much to add, but I liked the Kevin bits. It was a novelty at the time to see Kevin get a lot of what was coming to him as a character (for me), and then he still manages to get revenge for both himself and Edd at the end, so...yeah, bit of a guilty pleasure for me. 6 - Datesitter "You can borrow my loofah~" The episode has a lot of qoutes that me, my brother and at-the-time best friend would reference all the time. Nothing else to add, I do agree with you on this one. Especially since I have an issue with wasted characters or characters who are just "there" because. 5 - Phone Terror It was fun to see what would happen next each time Eddy picked up the phone. Can't really say anything else on it, it's a pretty bad episode, yeah. 4 - Skip Probably the episode that set the tone for how I view Kevin as a character. 3 - Halloween I only watched this once. That's it. That's how little I care for this special. 2 - Smelly Smelly Smelly Finally someone who actually talks about this episode! This entire episode feels like someone on the writing staff really had it out for Edd, and there's really no reward for sitting through the entire episode. It just ends with Edd in an even sorrier state, and it all could have been avoided had Eddy just borrowed Edd his shower, but...because Edd is at fault for telling him it's Saturday, we couldn't have that. Also, Edd's parents are...really inconsiderate and controlling. Like, say what you want about Ed's parents, but I feel like there is something about Edd's parents that is not discussed enough. 1 - Why Would I Smile I think to summarize this one, I just need to say: This is what you get when you ask someone who has never seen the show, to write an episode for the show, but you only gave them the footnotes for how the characters act and behave. Nothing works in this episode.

@@zzz43344 I know, I'm just saying my personal opinion. I agree that "If it smells like an Ed" has a good story, however, I found it painful to watch, as Ed and Edd didn't do ANYTHING wrong. Every now and then, an episode I dislike and think about is the one where Nazz tells them the Candy store is giving away free jaw breakers. What pisses me off is the ending, how Eddy chooses the jaw breakers over saving Double-D from Rolf's chicken herd. Like, Rick Sanchez at least cares about his family, especially in S2 where he's willing to sacrifice himself for Morty or give himself up to the police. Eddy could've been a true friend in so many episodes but the writers just make him a terrible one for jokes that didn't even hit bull's eyes.

9. Here's what's even worse: the ending isn't even a prank, it's a misunderstanding; also, just because we don't see the school staff doesn't mean they DON'T EXIST!! 8. Y'know, I'm surprised that Jimmy hasn't been bullied by Kevin or the Kankers for still believing in fairy tales; as for me, I'd show him the DARKER origins of those stories. 7. If I lived in the cul-de-sac, I would've called Eddy's parents and told on her. 2. Among many other problems, here is mine: first off, why didn't Double D's parents leave that sticky note on the bathroom door? Secondly, why didn't he simply ask Nazz to remove those extras from her shower?
