Thank you so much for posting these helpful videos. I'm still in preparation stages with my 2019 Tacoma and your videos make me want to leave tomorrow and tell my landlords peace out. Your suggestions seem so doable. From ways to do things as far as living, as well as building, organizing, and designing the rig.

You might want to look into an underhood shower or underhood water heater. It routes the hot water from your truck heater through a water to water heat exchanger, resulting in cold-warm-hot water depending on what you set your heater temp to inside the truck to. You use a small bilge pump set in a stream, lake or just a bucket to pump your shower water through the heat exchanger. Using a lake or stream, you will have endless shower water and hot as you like until you run your idling truck out of gas. 😉 You guys are very good at the DIY thing and I strongly feel that you would find adding this system in your engine bay fairly simple. The water to water heat exchanger can be made with copper tube and some fittings or Amazon has various styles of water to water heat exchangers that work as well.

Wow how in the world have we never heard of anything like this?!?! That is absolutely fascinating and such a killer idea! We will definitely look into that for the future rigs because... hot showers are such a gift! Thanks for watching!

@@BoundForNowhere Did you look into YMCA's? They are in almost every citi, cheap year pass, or day pass, and they always have great hot showers....
@BoundForNowhere5 жыл бұрын
Yes we have and we were told that YMCA's do not allow you to use your pass out of your "home city" more than 2 a month which doesn't work for us. However, I recently got word that Planet Fitness is great for using all over the country regularly and is pretty reasonably priced! We also don't circulate in cities all that often and they tend to be way out of our way to get to!

I had an old Baby Bjorn Smart Potty that we took with us for a few trips. It came super in handy when camping and road tripping. For road tripping, you can actually sit on the whole thing like a little luxurious camping throne. And dispose contents in the morning. Most adults would't ever think to sit on one, but you totally can sit on that can! For camping, I removed the inner pot and put it in a plastic grocery bag and hooked it to my pack, leaving the seat part behind. I normally rough it way more than that, but for festival camping or getting kids used to camping life, it's just great. However, I only did that for middle of the night runs when I --or little ones--just had to go, and could talk ourselves into slipping out of tent or rig for just a minute, even in the cold. I've never used it inside a tent or vehicle. Just another option, worth trying just before your child's retired Bjorn hits the garage sale.

When it comes to showering, I have an amazing set up with a 2 Gallon bug sprayer with a rigged flex hose/water hose nozzle that you can adjust the pressure to fully on and fully off. Boil some water, fill up the reservoir with water at the temp you like, pressurize the canister, and start with shampooing! It all flows down. So. Lol. And I have felt cleaner from my little 2 gallon shower than I have in a regular one....but that might be a personal issue for my own video series.......um. So yeah. That's what I've used. 😆

Love the honesty. My good lady is trying to convert me from 2 wheels to 4, and insists a bathroom is non negotiable. Obviously she wasn't a girl guide. ... Hiring next week in Portugal as an experiment. Can't see me getting off the bike permanently, but she can be persuasive.. Happy travels

Oh that is a great idea to hire one as a test drive to see how it goes. We have always been less held by the need for a bathroom but everyone needs something different! Best of luck out there!

Oh! I know this is 5 months late, but this is our solution: In our Trasheroo ( garbage bag on the back tire) we put a privy tent (the type that folds into a circle) a Reliance 3-leg compact toilet and a bag of supplies (toilet bags, toilet paper, wipes, etc.). There is still room for a medium bag of trash. I can set it up in under 3 minutes. Hope this helps your good lady. :)

Hey i've been searching through your content trying to find out how you're keeping yourselves warm while staying in Lando! What are you guys using for heat? You guys have such great content!
@BoundForNowhere5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so so much! We actually have Lando videos coming out over the next two weeks starting tomorrow! To answer your question more specifically: We just used a Rumpl blanket and then a wool blanket over the top if it was really cold. The thing about Lando's sleeping quarters is that they are so small that it warms up really quickly with the two of us in there. We also would light a candle (sounds crazy i know) but the candle was enough to offset the cold in the small space! I'm also working on a video that goes into our bedding because we've spent a lit of time perfecting out quiver of blankets that have taken care of us well into freezing temperatures without any additional heat source.
