pentel p209 for me is amazing. on the thicker side of things but but the ability to press for thick and light lines without breaking the graphite is really helpfull in designs.

I'm so glad I found your channel! I just received my Rotring 800 0.7mm (I plan to use 2B leads) and I love it! I'm just starting as a mechanical engineering/applied maths PhD student and I write a lot of equations! I also bought a P203 for the few technical drawings I make. I've been using for the past 6 years several Stabilo Technic mechanical pencils in 0.3 and 0.7mm for basically everything I wrote except for my exams (fountain pen). I thought it was a very good mechanical pencil: sturdy and with a metal grip. But the textured plastic body always turns to goop over time... I wish I discovered the true world of mechanical pencils sooner!

Why do you write with a fountain pen? Isn’t it hard to write fast with it?
@RazgrizDuTTA2 жыл бұрын
@@yunshanluo3497 I've always written with a fountain pen since I was a kid. I like the fact that it is very smooth because during engineering exams I usually wrote 8-12 pages. With a ballpoint pen I get wrist pain or something before that and I'm not really faster. EDIT: And we had to use ink for exams: no pencil :(

Personally, I think you should have a "Top 9" with the 10th slot being a "Honorable Mentions" list of arbitrary length This way, you can keep all those pencils that would've been at least 10th place worthy and stick them in the "Honorable Mentions" list with no 'List Length Limit' for "Honorable Mentions".

I’d love to try a Rotring but by the time you convert the purchase price to Canadian dollars and include the ridiculous shipping cost you’re up around the $80-100 ca. I can’t afford to justify that much for one pencil right now. You’re lucky to find a couple of Bic’s or PaperMates around where I live so you have to go online and ship for any variety. :(

Love the list vids. The OrenzNero is really fantastic. I would put it higher on my list. I've even picked up backups in case it is discontinued. Also, the S30 is spectacular and I'm glad it made the list. I, too, have collected all the colors, although, I really prefer black.

Interesting video. I still think the Pentel P205 is one of the best. The Uni Shalaku is a very practical pencil, and the Tombow Mono Graph to some extent. My top 5 (out of the 10 I have) 1. Faber-Castell TK Fine 9717, 0.7 B 2. Pentel P205, 0.5 HB 3. Rotring Tikky , 0.5 HB 4. Uni Kuru Toga standard 0.5 HB 5. Tombow Mono Graph, 0.5 HB 6. Rotring Tikky 2, 0.7 B -your friend from India.

I've already tested several mechanical pencils, but the best one, in my opinion, is still the Rotring 600 0.5.
@maskandvaccinefreeandproud21103 жыл бұрын
I’d love to try a Rotring but after converting it to Canadian funds and adding the ridiculous cost to ship anything anymore I’d be up close to a hundred dollars for just one pencil. NOT going to happen. It blows being a Canadian these days.

Don't think many artists use mechanical pencils and draftsmen by hand isn't really a thing anymore, all CAD. I can say that for engineering school mech pencils are still ideal but almost none of the ones on this list are good for that. For me in electrical engineering, my top picks are the Zebra M-402 (sadly discontinued), Tombow Mono Graph Shaker, and Staedlter Integrity 9505. The latter two have very good backup erasers that could see you through a full exam, the Zebra and 9505 have extremely durable tips that can be tossed in a bag or jacket pocket without worry. Can't be too heavy, especially top-heavy, if you're going to work for 8-14 hours a day with your pencil and 3 hour lectures.
