as soon as I heard this story I started to cry, right in the part where she, with her head in one hand and her intestines in the other, manages to get up to ask for help, it really shocked me a lot, I had never cried before for a horror story, in fact I love them and I watch every single video of this genre on the platform, but this case was really too brutal, his words at the end struck me very much, that is, that life is not what happens to us, but how we react to it.

I’m more bothered that I live every day possibly passing by one of her killers, for all I know. Japan allowed them to change their names but I think their new names got leaked? Hi, I’m Nigerian. The Soka was used as an underground for killing humans which was used for ritualistic purposes. The rituals usually use human heads and body parts for these rituals. I believe the Soka was ran by politicians as they use rituals (Juju) to increase their chances in getting want they want (which is usually political posts and money). I’m not proud to say this but “Juju” (ritual) is a common thing in Nigeria, it doesn’t even have to be in a big scale like this. Concerning the governor stopping the forensic investigation, there is little to nothing called forensic investigation in Nigeria. Even if the governor wanted to help, the godfather would have been a big threat

ABOUT THE NASUBI INCIDENT: When I lived in Japan I did contract work for TV Asahi, Fuji and TBS as an interpreter for foreign guests. One of those people worked on Denpa Shonen which was just finishing when I was in town (around '02), so I just asked about it when we caught up. I was more interested in the story about a guy trying to get from Kyushu to Hokkaido in a box that just had text messages, and that as well was mostly fake (unfortunately). I know bits and pieces about this from people I've spoken to. I don't know the guy directly, but I know enough people involved to get some truth about it. - He didn't only stay there - he had accommodation across the road ( a cheap hotel ) that he could use any time out of filming hours. I'm sure they would've had other activities arranged, but I don't know much about this. - The food restrictions in the show weren't real - he was given 3 meals a day. - Once a week he had medical checkups. - At the beginning of a filming week (usually a Tuesday) things will be planned and everything else was improvised (things that were funny were put on screen). So it wasn't so bad per se, but: - He wasn't allowed to engage in any other entertainment media. - If he was photographed outside the apartment (i.e. going to the hotel, or being seen elsewhere) the contract would be terminated. - The payment was [probably] standard entry rate (~$US600/month). The issue isn't what he did. It's that he did this in pursuit of a regular spot on TV. The majority of people on Japanese TV earn very little unless their name is attached to a show. There's a lot more people doing a lot worse for a lot less.

I personally think he was acting. Idk, something about the way he acted at the time of the big reveal screams fake to me. Japanese actors (and Asian actors in general) have a habit of over acting and over reacting to keep the audience interested. His transition from being extremely confused to excited, and the words that came out from his mouth just didnt feel natural. As an Asian, I have seen Asian tv shows since childhood, so I believe this was all made up. I think the fact that he had an interest in acting further supports this story. Either way, its great to know that he is doing well.

I blame her husband and family as much as her. I don't see how you could blame her when she did literally everything in her power to get herself out of that situation or get herself to stop having kids. She tried to kill herself numerous times, and every time, she was stopped by other people, not herself wanting to live for those kids and herself. She told every family member, including her husband, that she didn't feel qualified and felt like she was going to hurt those kids and wanted out. Yes, she did a terrible thing. But she was as much a victem. She was forced to have babies till her body and mind broke and then forced to keep going and was the only one who helped raise them. Tweeible husband. Terrible family. He shouldn't have been able to remarry. I can't imagine being his second wife and finding out just how much he put her through. Those poor kids never had a shot. And that poor woman did her best till she felt like she only had one horrible option left. She fought the urge to hurt those kids for 2 years and said as much and nobody listened. No wonder her husband said she needed a swift kick in the pants, he was clearly just as unqualified a husbanf. She knew what she was doing was wrong bit she didn't see any other way because every other way was taken away and led to her being put on more drugs only to have her taken off them to get knocked up again. Imagine what that does to a brain when you gotta be on many pf those kinds of drugs for months before they even you out and sje was in and out of institution visits. Only to have everyone in her life say and now you're good enough to keep having more babies and keep taking care of them. And she would say no, I'm not. Wonder why she did what she did.

I have watched so many videos like this for years and years. I'm new to Cadaber, but Nexpo, Nick Crowley, Reignbot, and others are well known to me for a very long time. Nasubi's story is quite genuinely the most horrifying thing I've ever encountered from this genre of video. More horrifying to me than all of the other tragic and despicable things reported on over the years. I feel so deeply for this poor man and the things he was put through -- to be treated so less than human. I hope some sort of justice can be secured for him, and while I'm glad he's found "some sort of happy ending," there's no telling the demons this man must have to live with every single day.

I agree about the story being horrific! I’ve heard it on a few different YT channels and each time I hear it mentioned I genuinely can’t see any silver lining in this story. Especially considering labour laws didn’t really start applying to broadcast contests on a global scale until the mid 2000’s - knowing this, I genuinely feel that there’s no way Nasubi was given food or entertainment “behind the scenes” and I feel that there’s no way was he given the bi-weekly phycial and MH checks that have become the modern standard for gameshow contests. His example seams like a cruel and grim reality that was used for entertainment purposes. Without a care from the network regarding the morality and humanity of his situation. I feel like their mindset was “well, he can quit whenever he wants, if he doesn’t want to quit then he knows these are the raw conditions he has to live by”.

Regarding the Nasubi case, his reaction tells you everything you need to know about Japanese culture. He's GRATEFUL after all that insane psychological abuse. Not even a hint of frustration or anger. Only relief. There are cultures in this world that will psychologically torture you for your entire existence for no other reason than to coerce you into conforming. Japan is nice to visit as a foreigner. Streets are pristine, people are polite, and there's an impression that Japan is highly advanced. Truth is that there is an immense human toll to this beautiful façade.

I recently watched a tik tok that went into depth about how this "passive" lifestyle the Japanese have, the type of OCD-ness at times, how they act and live as if they're terrified stepping out of line would destroy their entire lives can be linked to the reign of Samurais that ruled the Japanese with fear. Not sure how accurate this can be, but it was interesting to watch.

@@christinaspiridou5429 I'd argue that it has nothing to do with the era of samurai, especially considering samurai weren't lords, they were private security for their lords; the job of a samurai was to serve the man he'd pleged his loyalty to with his skills. The fear of stepping out of line has nothing to do with being violently forced back into conformity, but everything to do with not wanting to cause trouble for other people. Consider their polite way of speaking, it's all to preserve peace in society. If you order an item that's not available in the restaurant, lets use the milkshake machine at McDonalds, the cashier isn't going to come straight out and say you can't have a milkshake because the machine is broken. They're going to apologize, then say "I believe the machine is currently undergoing maintenance; I would be happy to check with the technicians to get an estimate for you. Allow me to offer you the menu with our available cafe drinks and desserts." This alllows them room to be wrong, as well as gives you some room to think about what else you might want. it doesn't put you on the spot to make a quick decision, because they're going to be gone for a little bit, even if no one is working on the shake machine. Consider this in a business scenario; your boss makes a mistake during a presentation, and everyone knows he made the mistake, but no one says anything. Correcting your boss in the middle of the meeting would embarrass him, even if he were to agree amicably with your correction, but it makes things awkward for everyone else to watch. The solution here, for the Japanese, is to keep quiet, and then have the most senior team member let the boss know that he made an error in private. The senior team member will compliment sandwich the boss, "the presentation went great, I think there may have been a miscommunication around this point, but with a little revision, this will be perfect for the board of directors." This allows the company to continue to appear as a harmonious unit, as opposed to looking like there is a rift between management and employees, and then makes sure everyone is on the same page.

Wrapping my presents while listening to this. I think hearing these stories makes me feel more appreciative of my family and the safety I feel around them. They're important to hear about, since they educate us on what dangers exist in our world, but they aren't exactly easy to take in. I hope everyone has happy holidays and is with their family and loved ones. Be careful and stay safe.

I'll never understand the Junko case. How can anyone in that household live with themselves after this?
@kmdiamond
@kmdiamond 5 ай бұрын
One 'good' thing - when you are set are fire it does kill your nerves *while youre on fire* which means in a tiny piece of mercy the last beating of Junko would not have been so painful once the fire hit her nerves, and since they didn't douse out the fire , the punches etc would be hitting dead nerves

I saw a New Detectives episode about Gloria Ramirez back in the early 2000s. The conclusion the experts came to was that she took a painkiller popular at the time which had the byproduct of DMSO in the bloodstream, which then converted to DMSO2 when the paramedics gave her oxygen and ultimately DMSO4 (the deadly nerve agent) from the electric defibrillators the nurses used. Basically her body became like a test tube for deadly chemicals.

Poor Kelly, given a loser's hand from day 1 and it just never got any better. All I can hope is that her story inspires others to help people, to not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to someone in need, because I wish someone had been there to help her.

I went to the same clinic as Yates (it was the only one in the area at the time, not sure about now) That facility has a history of problems (issues as recently as during the beginning of the pandemic) I know for a fact that I was treated by some of the same doctors as her (I was also having problems postpartum and was being treated at the same time and after her) It wasn’t uncommon for me to run out of medication to the point I would start to detox and go into withdrawal. It would be hard to get ahold of doctors (this was even AFTER what happened with her) Her and her children were definitely failed by her partner and doctors because something I was repeatedly told was to let my partner and doctors know if I was having the thoughts she was having. I can’t tell you have terrifying it is to know that she was able to tell them her delusions and it didn’t stop what happened.

May they never have a moments peace. RIP junko

@Cadaber - Do you ever read the comments? This is my first time on your channel. I listened to each and every story in this post. It's amazing how i was glued to my tablet, not wanting to miss a word uttered. Each story was mind-blowingly in such detail and the tone of voice, added to the suspense, shock, horror and grief whenever needed. It felt as if you were sitting with me on my bed, telling me about intense experiences you've came across, in your lifetime. Thank you for sharing...

Mate, you are quite simply the best. Your scripts are excellent and intriguing, while being informative and succinct. You don’t read like a robot like so many other similar channels do, and your ‘spooky voice’ is not massively over the top, again, like many other channels that do similar content. On that subject, the content you talk about is almost always something I’ve never heard about before, which is what keeps me coming back. Please keep up the excellent work, man. You and Nick Crowley are the absolute zenith of this type of content and no-one else even gets close. Thanks so much for all the entertainment and fascinating stories you tell us, your work is hugely appreciated. 👍

A few crucial parts of the Nasubi story that werent mentioned. Nasubi was told that the footage " might or might not be aired on tv." That " his footage would first be made into a pilot episode, much later, after the challenge was finished" He questions about there being an audience, because up until that point, he didnt know anyone had seen the tapes. In the beginning when he didnt have any food and was legit starving, the show creators would intentionally send delivery men with delicious smelling food to his apartment, just to see how he would react. The video mentions he won dog food. He ate the dog food when hungry. Also, funfact!; Nasubi is japanese for eggplant. The name comes from the producers using an eggplant emoji to blur out his wang... and because they thought his face looked like an egg plant.

@@spoopytiger7606 yea they def exploited him. He thought he would have a say in what they did and didn't show. In an interview, he said he spent a lot of the time severely depressed, but they edited those parts completely out. What I find the most messed up, is when he was starving they would send delivery people over with delicious smelling food, just for the delivery person to say "oh wrong address". He was only eating uncooked rice for a while. Idk if you have ever truly starved, but it becomes a life altering event. Hunger can drive you to eat another person. People don't understand what hunger like that does to you and how someone is never the same after experiencing it. For them to mess with him and tease him with food while he was starving is beyond cruel.

You got something wrong with the Dardeen Family murder being on TV: Oprah wasn't on cable back then, it was on ABC, a network station which are all monitored by the FCC, it would have been allowed if Oprah was on cable at the time since the FCC didn't monitor cable (and her show had only aired on cable as reruns).
