Seriously, It's honestly nice to see someone who doesn't clump onto everyone else's opinions. Most people that talk bad about Watchdogs_2 didn't even play it and judge it by it's predecessor. It honestly deserves some recognition for being a good game imo.

I thought Overwatch was pretty fun, considering that I don't play a lot of shooters. This was the first one where I enjoyed playing with my friends, shooting the breeze, and just having a good old time. Doom is still my favorite shooter of the year, but Overwatch is my favorite multiplayer game of the year. Game of the year, Oxenfree, because that game was crazy.

Its honestly painful to look at comment sections like this anymore. So many people are complaining with a game like Overwatch getting so high on the list. Not only are they ignoring the unnecessary warning at the beginning of the video saying "Hey, this is all just the opinion of one man," but you are being immature to the levels of calling names at both people and games (which in turn is name calling to the creators of the game) like little schoolchildren. One of my top games of the year was Pokemon Sun and Moon, but I recognize that Jirard is playing through the Pokemon series in order. Am I upset that it wasn't on the list? No. Am I calling Jirard and anyone who agrees with him harsh names for Pokemon not being on this list? No! There are many games on this list that I haven't played. To be honest, I didn't play too many brand new games this year, with the most notable ones being Pokemon Sun and Moon, Fire Emblem Fates, and Kirby Planet Robobot (yeah, I know I'm a huge Nintendo dork.) Am I upset that those games aren't here? No. In fact, its nice to see Jirard's opinions. I'm now interested in trying games like Owlboy. Finally, I want to address something. When glancing at the comments here, I noticed someone (not saying a name because it honestly doesn't matter who said it) was complaining about Overwatch being so lacking in content. To that, I say that in most cases, the amount of content doesn't matter, especially with a game that is also a huge esport. While yes, it would be nice to see Overwatch get a story mode, the game is a major esport first. Same with other esports like Smash Bros. and Street Fighter V, which despite being on this list and "lacking in content" I have not seen any complaints about in these comments. I know Smash Bros. more than Street Fighter, so I'll be using that as an example. Smash Bros. has grown into a major esport since Melee, and has been growing bigger into that spot from both the creators and the fans, with things like Project M (may it rest in peace) made by fans to grow into a new Smash title to be played competitively after many players were disappointed by Brawl, and Nintendo being more open to the concept of Smash Bros. being an esport. Does Smash have more mods? Yes, but many of them are rather dull and unenjoyable by many. But that's fine, because the main mode of the game has always been a standard match, whether the players are competitive or casual. So this clearly demonstrates that a game doesn't need to be rich in various game modes and variants to be a "good game". If Super Smash Bros. only had Standard Smash, 8 Player Smash, Training mode and Online modes, it would still sell very well. It has what casual players would want through standard/ 8 player smash matches with items, as well as For Fun and With Friends online, but it has itemless, stock matches in Standard Smash and For Glory and With Friends for competitive play. And it would still sell well, especially if many people wanted to try it as their preferred esport. Anyway, sorry about this rant. I just find it so baffling how some people can act so childish when people don't agree with them. I felt like something should be said, though I may have said too much. Either way, this wasn't really for me. I'm not the one being majorly impacted by the immature actions of some of the commenters. This was manly for Jirard himself. For every comment he gets, he gets a notification. Every negative and immature thing said he will at least glance upon. I hope that we can clean up some of this behavior so he's not constantly being bombarded by comments saying "UGH OVERWATCH IS TRASH LOL 0/8 WHY WASN'T ____ ON THIS YOU LOSER" every time he puts up a list like this. He said at the beginning of the video that these are his opinions, but then so many treat it like he spoken facts and you refuse to believe it, just as many long ago refused to believe the Earth was round. Hopefully, we can do something to show more respect for the man. But then again, this is the internet. We can never have a simple and clean solution without one person or another being butthurt.

Kratosx I actually would disagree on this sentiment. I feel that Pokemon Sun & Moon were great games, but nonetheless mere stepping stones in the right direction to revitalizing the Pokemon IP. It is brand new. It changes up some of what we know to be Pokemon completely in a very good way. But there are moments the game slows you down, like how it near forces you in a linear fashion through most of the game (MOVE TAURUS!). It very much feels like a 90% complete experience, and not quite a 100% one. I'd still praise the game, but I reiterate it's leaps and bounds in the right direction for an even better end product in the future.

It's also another remake of Star Fox, it's sad to see that the best game in the series still is Star Fox 64. STZ is without a doubt one of the worst games I've played this year.

Personally, I just don't see the Star Fox series going anywhere. That series is just the definition of risk vs reward. If they make a new game that's similar in gameplay and story, like Zero, it's panned. If they make a new game that's completely different in every way, like Adventures, it's panned. If they make a new game that's kinda similar in both, like Command, it's panned. If they try to make a very similar game with a new plot, like Assault, it's panned. Their only successes were the original, a half-remake (64) and a full-on remake (64 3D). From what we've seen, it looks like either Star Fox fans don't know what they want, constantly asking for anything but a remake, but only buying remakes, or the developers have just lost their touch. Either way, why would Nintendo make a game that's almost destined to fail?

Star Fox Zero was an easy win for Nintendo. Give starfox fans a new starfox game that focuses on the arwing gameplay and not the gameplay from adventure or the on foot sections from assault, yet Nintendo throws away this easy win by adding gimmicky controls that add nothing to the experience and impede gameplay.

Miraak the developers were in Quake Team Fortress clan so it's easy to see where the main design inspirations came from, and it's not TF2. Torbjorn drops armor pickups just like the Engineer.

It's... something of a snowball effect. One day you're advertising for something you wholeheartedly think your fans would love. The next day you're advertising something you like. Eventually, you're advertising things not for either of those reasons, but because it gets you more cash. You throw your fans to the wayside just to get more revenue coming in. Granted, that doesn't always happen, and it is in fact a fairly uncommon occurrence... but it does happen. If you're familiar with Videogamemes on Facebook, you'd understand perfectly why people get fearful of this. In case you're not... the page started shilling web articles from a site called FragHero, who mind you, are absolute DOG SHIT when it comes to being decent gaming journalists. They rarely ever reported anything worthwhile (and when they did it was usually a copy-paste from another article from a different site), and instead they opted for the clickbaitiest of clickbait. "Here's how to get legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Go" *click* "We don't know, but here's a guess." "Gamers are outraged over this new Xbox One S feature" *click* "The power button is an actual button this time." Shit like that. People subscribed to the page have been telling the admin for about a year now (if not longer) to just stop posting their stupid articles already and get back to actually posting video game memes (for reference, about 2-3x more articles get posted a day than memes), but he outright ignores them. It's sad.

It was good, but I'm not sure it lived up to the name. In my opinion, it could have been better. That's not saying much, cause I played the game after coming from Crack in Time, which is my personal favorite in the series. Its gameplay was classic, but didn't feel like it held the same impact, and the story itself was on the same level as the first game... which is ok, since it was supposed to be a re imagining, but they are well past that. They tried to fit in everything and it sort of felt bogged down by it. I know I'm being pessimistic, but I do like the game. Just I like to think "How can they improve the next one" rather than immediately going into "Why this one was awesome." ... on the note of it being awesome, the whole STYLE of the narrative had me in stitches. I love Quark. The big idiot. But you can tell the ending is NOT leading towards a retelling, cause as it is, I doubt everything in Going Commando can truly fit in anymore. They did reference it though. And everything else in the entire series.

I would definitely take R&C16 over CiT, but I am 100% in the minority on that one. The new game's flaws mainly have to do with story to me, but mechanically I don't really have any complaints. In CiT, I have strong issues with the story AND mechanics, as well as more general issues when it comes to replayability. None of CiT's levels are ever enjoyable as a whole to me because the pacing is atrocious and story-wise I never feel a driving need to go to any particular planet or care when I'm there. The more I play CiT, the less I like it, because I know it could've been so much better had they not run into issues during QfB's development that cost them several months of CiT's dev time. In fairness though, R&C16 takes levels from the first game nearly spot for spot, so of course the levels are going to be good. I can't just trash on CiT without acknowledging that.

Korodan the Lion King Most idiots use the same argument for why the game is bad. "uhhh no arcade, dis game sux" When it's the most balanced SF game ever made. It has bright, colorful visuals, runs like butter, and plays good.

Damion Dixon I do understand that people want single player content, even if a fighting game will always be something that's best to be experienced in multiplayer. But there's so much blind hate towards the game. For example some people still think you need to buy characters. Stuff like that really makes me sad.

Even if you give up on your life to farm for characters you can't buy everything with in game currency, the game has almost no content besides online + the fact that it's semi exclusive killed the game popularity (probably only 3k people playing on pc and a bit more on ps4), look at the statistics, people that play fighting games casualy were, are and will always be the maiority and when you take what they like and release only half of a game with tons of other problems and compare this game with titles like mkx saying that it was bad is not an invalid argument.

Ps2eterno Ehm... You don't have to give up your live to farm for anything. The games Single-player content provides you with enough fight money to buy most characters without even touching Survival Hard Mode. With the inclusion of Missions getting Fight Money is easier than it ever was. And of course there is content that is exclusive for real money. Costumes are paid dlc in pretty much every fighting game and unless you really want all the costumes for every character this really shouldn't be a problem (although I hate limited time event purchases like for Halloween and Christmas). So yeah, it's hard for me to take someone seriously who uses that as his argument, since that is an ill-informed argument. I won't answer to the other things you said, since that is something everyone has to decide for himself. I myself play fighting games casually and didn't take issue with the stuff since I knew more content was on it's way. But like I said, I don't like it if people hate the game based on misinformation.

That's what I don't get about the SF5 complaints. The two biggest ones contradict each other. They say you need to grind too much to earn characters and then say the game doesn't have single-player content. But if you do the single-player content, you don't have to grind for the characters. And there's plenty of hours worth of single-player content. There's the story mode, prologues, trials, tutorials, and survival mode. Doing all of them for all of the characters gives you enough FM for all of the characters, including Akuma. I also bought GGXrdR and KOF14 this year and SF5 is the game that I spent most time doing single-player stuff.

what i mean is the game managed to be very innovative with what it tried to do with a universe that everyone was put into and randomly generates the whole thing. the reason everyone doesn't like the game is because it crashes a lot, it takes forever to load, it's very repetitive and it isn't even that much fun to do what you're supposed to do but i think if we had a team of developers that could create a good story and make the game fun, then the game would be good if we also had the technology to make the game run smoother. basically the game has potential but the technology and time to create a good base for the game wasn't there yet and thus the game flopped

Meh, its a shooter, with decent multiplayer that wins. "shrug" cool, I guess. However, I do pay attention to the e-sport side of things, and Overwatch has a bit of a rocky history with that. I don't know if Blizzard will continue to try to push the game as an e-sport, but I have little faith it will survive. The reasons for my statement: One really dominate team per tournament. (Basically makes the tournaments seem likes to luck of not getting placed against the team destine to win. Really boring watching said team roll over all others.) Lack of a spectator mode that facilitates easy viewing. (Blizzard is working on it, but I don't think it has hit the beta yet.) Very little support for tournaments at initial launch. (They basically copied over mechanics the community develop. May or may not provide a good approach to developing competitive.) It is designed to be a casual game. Those games tend to have a higher difficulty attracting people to watch compared to a higher skill game (Say CS-Go). (This one plays into the lack of a spectator mode. If I, a person who doesn't play the game, cannot tell when a player just made an amazing play, then I won't watch it. It simply will be me listening to the shout casters or finding a better game to watch. Before the hate, the majority of people who are going to be watching an e-sport, will have to come from those who aren't playing the game.) (Opinion) The current and past meta's appear to be really boring. Previous, two tanks, two supports, a flanker, and a wild card. Now three tanks, two supports, and a flanker. Tanks are going to be Diva, Winston, and then probably Rienhart; Supports are going to be Lucio (Because he gives additional mobility) and Ana (because of her burst heal and ultimate); Flanker are going to be Genji or Tracer (because they have the most mobility and potential for damage) In conclusion, Overwatch has a pretty step cliff to climb to become a major e-sport. It can easily achieve the "Frankenstein" quality of TF2, but probably will die out before TF2 does. (Cough, cough, Valve could basically give the source code up to the community and they would be very happy. Since the Steam workshop, custom servers, and community made patches are still going strong, then it is highly unlikely that TF2 will truly die. Overwatch does not two of these characteristics (workshop and community patches))

Watch_Dogs 2 is absolutely my surprise fave of this year, so it's nice to see it end up on this list.
