Even if the target is up high with zero radar clutter the sparrow can be chaffed front aspect. That used to be impossible without doing a 180° turn while chaffing. The R27ER "trick" is as intended because the guidance has IOG+DL, however the electro-optical pod spotting trick just seems cheesy and it wouldn't be surprising if it gets suddenly removed or fixed someday (currently it seems to spot without regards to line of sight, say, spot a plane behind a mountain).

The best they can do is give the Aim 7P, which is just a 7F/M with Datalink. It'll still lose to the R27ER in speed, manouvreability, and reliability (or whatever stat decides whether you missile feels like ignoring your lock).

There is no sparrow that will save us from the ER. The ER was a mistake end of story. The sparrows can only get slightly better seekers, and lofting, which won’t really change anything. They will still be blatantly outclassed by the ER just not as hard as now.

CW radar locks are looking for the largest radar signature in the scoped area. If lock switches to chaff - unless it’s a significant amount - the missile will still be tracking the aircraft as it is the biggest object. For CW radar missiles it’s best to not only chaff but also notch so that the PD radar loses lock as well as the missile. Hope that helps

@@SeekerHead thats a lazy answer and the game isn't 1v1, there are still other enemies you haven't shot at yet, and you can only guide so many at a time. doing this will let you keep you SA and not have to worry about every being all around you. fire a missile, crank away from enemies, get your kill or miss, go cold, and reset, rinse repeat, let your teammates die and distract, i'm literally on a 20 kill streak over my past games doing this. go look up the f-pole maneuver, and understand WHY it works, and why its so powerful with missile combat

Grinding so much this update with ADF, I died once to 27ER at BVR engagements. Got plenty 47km+ kills. If anyone thinks 7Mis bad, maybe stop rushing close to the ground, learn to notch and use your radar properly. Bunch of bad players got into top tier, they don't Understand top tier jets, yet they complain so fuckin much. ADF isnt even top of the food chain, and I'm carrying most games while shitting on Su-27's and F-15's, while having 30flares+ chaffs. A lot of us know this. I do something similar with the tornado Adv in Italian line unlocking and relooking with tws as well. Swapping back and forth every 2 seconds. Sadly due to the massive bias to Russian anything every missile that Russia has in game preforms all most twice of what the stats say while every other nation gets half or less than half the stats they say it does. A quick way to see this is do the same shot with Russian missile as us stat for stat follow the missile and you will see it not only does not have the speed it says it does but will bleed speed at a massive rate after a quarter to half mile and also no longer turn at even 10g, while every Russian missile will hold speed near indefinitely and also turn the entire time at over what it’s rated for. You can easily test this at 30k ft with the shooting star or Russian 23 chasing a missile track being launched from a jet behind it at an enemy in front of it. Sadly every one just says no it’s just lack of skill but in reality due to this a team of Russian jets vs any other nation at load out for load out at BR, Russian team will always win due to this advantage of the massive lie in stats that only hold true for non Russian jets for about half a second. Is why you can out turn a aim9L being fired from your own tornado or 104 when neither jet can do a 15g turn, while the middle is rated for near twice that. Russia on the other hand a mig can fire at a 90 from target with RK60 at less than 2 miles at over Mach 1 and alweys get a hit as the missile pulls over 30g. Simple math proves the game has a massive pre set of Russian anything always wins unless it just flys straight and never flares. It’s gotten so bad that you can fire an aim 9L at a mig 29 not flying super sonic at any altitude and if it turns even 1/16th of a degree the aim 9 will miss. Aim 7f is just as bad with head on again at any altitude turn 1/16th degree and it will miss due to the massive bias. Game has become a joke since patch
