Honestly I love this scene so much. how when Steve says “There’s not going to be a safe landing zone”. Philips immeadiately motions to the other Howling Commando for them to leave the room so she could talk to him. And when she started sobbing, Philips left the room completely so she could have her privacy. And big props to Steve for how he acted when the plane was going down. He knew he would likely die and he wouldn’t be able to dance with Peggy, but he kept talking to her and making plans like they were going to just to keep her mind off the fact that he wasn’t going to make it. This scene was just so beautiful and heartbreaking

Notice how when Peggy was looking for a way out for him he didn't even hesitate and decided to ground the plane as landing anywhere else would be too risky? Because the longer they try and figure a way out for him is time for the plane to get closer to NYC and might cause more damage Notice how when he was heading for the Ice he was still talking to Peggy like a normal convo to keep Peggy's mind off from what was going to happen and basically comfort her even though he was the one that was going to die? He knew no one would know. He would lose his life and love and didn't even hesitate. This is why Cap was always worthy.
