Red Hot Poker is a perennial plant in most zones. It's pretty much maintenance-free and looks good most of the year.

I appreciate the effort that you put into making this: 1 year of filming in the same video. It's nice to see it all at once, instead of doing separate videos.

Great video! I started some from seed last year and they’re just blooming for the first time now. I really appreciate that your video showed life for a full year, and not just at planting or blooming times. Thank you so much, make more please.

These are so gorgeous. I have a plant I started a few years back, but I think it’s a little overcrowded in the area and seeing this lets me know I need to move it. Thank you!!!! I love this plant so much.

This is the most informative video for this plant 👍 I have this in my garden (England UK) for a couple of years, its just finished flowering and I was wondering what to do as I just left it last year until winter when I just cut of the flower heads, it did flower again this year but the leaves are looking bedragled ... now I know what to do so it will look tidier next year 👍 Thank you so much for the tutorial. It's a shame we don't have Humming birds in this country 😒 Thank you again.

@dennistherocker You should consider dividing your Red Hot Poker plants. You can place in other sunny areas of your garden or pot them up and move them around in your garden when they are in bloom to see were you and the plant likes to be. Another mention is they look striking next to Shasta Daisies, lavender and Crosomia. Crosomia is another Hummingbird magnet. I wish you could enjoy the hummingbirds, they are territorial birds. I wish we had red Cardinals. We have a lot of Blue Jays. I get mesmerized by plants, nature & wild life. ❤from the Great Pacific Northwest; Zone 8b

Thank you! Should you trim back the leaves of the plant in the fall or wait until spring? (I live in California)
@EasyPeasyGardening Жыл бұрын
I am in zone 9 and I do trim them down because they do get messy with frost

Is it beneficial to the plant to divide it when it gets large?
@EasyPeasyGardening8 ай бұрын
Yes because it gets more space, more nutrients
@totallydomestic4337 ай бұрын
If you cut the dry ones, can you harvest the seeds?
@EasyPeasyGardening7 ай бұрын
Yes, but the plants grown from seeds may not bloom for a few years. Best is to dig up the bulbs and divide them.
