What a blockbuster of a finale! The stakes were high and the ultimate enemy bigger than I could have imagined! An ending that definitely left me excited not only for season 2, but also however this plays into Doctor Who!

Unfortunately, the three episode doctor who series 3 finale has been delayed. One of the episodes has been repeatedly blocked, and I want to make sure it's clear before it goes public. I'll post all three episodes back to back once it's ready to go!

Some other reactors have also reported increasing trouble with getting Who reactions greenlit in recent months and both have started laying texts or logos over the footage in response. I am sorry that editing for YT is such a nuisance and thankful that you are putting up with it for our benefit. I will be happy to watch it whenever it is done and however distorted it may have to be.

@ftde1 yea BBC is tough. I don’t really mind it when they claim the monetización, but this is the first time they’ve blocked an episode

If this continues, you may want to give it a try. I appreciate your including _Torchwood_ as part of the Whoniverse reactions; it gives more depth to what's going on on both shows.

I have said it before, I will say it again. Whatever the hell Eve Myles was channeling there for that grief scene HURT to watch. Just outclassed every other actor there. 10/10. I hope she is okay irl lol

If no one's already said, when you hear the Tardis at the end and Jack leaves, that's Jack jumping onto it in Utopia (S3 Ep.11 of Doctor Who)

Great episode. Your Bills Manger there is a very special actor, he's had a long successful career, often unnoticed but his breakthrough was in A Taste Of Honey from 1961, one of the 'British kitchen sink dramas of the time, one of the best, with two excellent British actresses Rita Tushingham and Dora Bryan. It's grim, telling a story of how hard life really is but has some humour and astonishing performances, especially from Murray Melvin, who won the Cannes film prize that year. Pop it on your list.

Another amazing episode from season 1. Along with the one before it, I just love this one. It's so INTENSE!! So much going on. Gwen losing Rhys, Owen quitting / getting kicked out, Owen coming back and shooting Jack, everyone on the team turning on Jack and then learning about Jack's immortality, the rift question, creepy Bilis, Jack coming back, Owen crying and Jack forgiving him (that really gets to me), and the ending of the episode... HOLY CRAP. It's all so good!!!

Because TW is an "adult" show and DW is a "family" show the creators have said the Doctor would never appear on TW. Referenced, but never appear.

So a fun fact I learned a while back in the comments of another reaction. (Don't have a direct source, just something another commenter who was there for it said.) Torchwood was apparently picked up by a German tv channel as it was originally airing and became somewhat popular there for a while, despite doctor Who being essentially unknown there at the time. When this finale aired, German forums were full of people incredibly confused about what happened to Jack and were wildly speculating, while the few who knew Doctor Who tried to explain lol.

Random not really related but sort of in the same vein trivia: The sitcom "Soap" (1977-1981) was broadcast in Norway well before any of the major actual soap opera shows of which it was a parody. People still loved it! 😂

A lot of people criticize this episode and others for bad CGI. Usually I hate the use of CG period, but in this, because the CG is so awkward, and this is a science fiction show, it almost works. It takes me back to the early episodes of the season, which were a little cheesy and over the top. We had our more dramatic and serious, "realistic" stuff in the middle and now we're ending the season the way it kind of began. And as much criticism as the series also takes for being emotional, Eve Myles is a terrific actress. I don't know why she's never gone on to do big Hollywood movies, because she can definitely act and obviously, she's gorgeous.

I love the Bilis Manger character, but he does not reappear on the tv series. He does reappear in the expanded media. In the books, the comics and the Big Finish audios. Murray Melvin even continued to play him in the Big Finish audios, before he passed away last year.

I can’t remember. I think it randomly popped up somewhere when I was searching something else. Aside from that some commenters didn’t realize it was a reveal and thought it was obvious so i found out multiple ways, I guess 😅

What's happened? Every Thursday for quite a while now I've been watching Dr who with you, I put KZbin on yesterday and only substandard torchwood, (Which ill not be boring myself with.) but no new Dr who episode.

The plan was to watch the two part Torchwood Finale which leads right into Utopia which I was to release today, followed by 12 & 13 next week. They’ve all been delayed a bit now due to one of the episodes being repeatedly blocked. The good news is I’ve increased the amount of episodes I’m watching each week. I’m also rearranging my release schedule so that, while there might be a little bit of a delay, once I start a new season it will be two episodes per week until it’s finished, with a few exceptions. A lot more Torchwood, Sarah Jane, and Doctor Who is on the way!
