Hey all, I wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU all for your support up to this point. It means the world for me. I have a full proximal tear so I have to decide if I'm going to go through with surgery again/when/what the recovery looks like. In that time I will be recovering mentally and physically as best I can. I also have a bunch of BIG new things coming out which I will announce when I come back from this break. My team and I have been going non-stop for a long time so a nice break is needed to us to deliver the best content to all of YOU. Once again thank you, and I WILL BE BACK!

So sorry to hear about your injury. Went down the same road as you. Tore my distal bicep and got it repaired- 6 months to get back. Tore my proximal bicep - on atlas stones also. Surgeon said it didn't need to be repaired, wouldn't lose strength like on a distal tear, had a nice bicep peak. And honestly I wish I did repair it, it's never been the same, cramps and balls up, have had a few more micro tears on the arm, stability is off. My best advice would be to get it repaired. I wish I didn't listen to my ortho on not fixing it. Hang in there, it takes time, but you'll recover from it 🙏

For the past year it seems as soon as I’m healthy again a new or old injury has to show up. I feel like I haven’t been at a true 100% since last june. It’s extremely frustrating and caused me a great deal of emotional and mental pain in addition to physical, so I feel your pain. When I was rehabbing, or trying to work on technique, or looking for new workouts, you’re channel was one of the ones I discovered, and you’re videos have been extremely useful ever since. Love the channel and content! I recently tore/pull/strained a hip flexor after sumo deadlifting, on an SBD day, with little sleep and no recovery. Bad idea. Currently can’t walk standing straight and stand straight for that matter. Hip/groin is uncomfortable all the time, and sleeping sucks. Now that I walk hunched over it’s effecting my lowback now. Really really sucks. Gym is my life. MY ENTIRE life , I don’t care what anyone says I love working out more than anything. Really reconsidering powerlifting, and what I’ll do next if I ever even do recover or go ‘back to normal’ . I love the honesty in the video and realness, it’s so relatable when people showcase experiences like this. Yes it’s really unfortunate like my experience... but still , I’m hoping a FAST FAST recovery from you, and hoping I get back into lifting as soon as possible. Like I said, it’s all I think about and love to do. Can’t blame me, it’s my meditation, my love, and my solace. Thanks for reading!^_^

It’s a hard pill to swallow, mentally, knowing you have to go through the surgery and recovery process again. Something similar happened to me last year. I had my labrum reattached and rotator cuff repaired on the right shoulder and 4 months later I discovered another rotator tear in my left shoulder I wasn’t aware of and needed surgery again! This is also after having carpal tunnel release surgury on both hands at the beginning of 2021…so 4 surgeries altogether last year for me. It really can take you to a bad place, but if you can find a silver lining for yourself it may help. Mine was “the opportunity” to develop my lower body. I spent most of ’21 doing legs 3-5 workouts/week and added about 2 inches to my thighs! Sled drags were my almost daily friend, lol! Maybe you’ll be the next Tom Platz after that bicep finally heals!

Positive side is that I’m working back to my old numbers and size. I’m sure you will be back too. The human body is resilient and it’s amazing what we can do if we want it bad enough.

Thank you so much Joey for putting out great content for so long. I know the depression of injuries. I tore my labrum in both shoulders 6 years ago. Then, about a year ago I tore my left a bit more and could feel it clicking and shifting out of socket. I love OHP and i couldn’t do the movement anymore. I could bench but no OHP. It’s taken me almost 2 years and trying multiple PT’s but finally I am doing OHP with a straight bar again. I’m saying this because I know frustration of injuries. Being big and strong becomes part of our identity. All I can say is, if you continue to train and focus on pain free movements you will recover and come back stronger. I was so pissed when I retore my labrum. But I came out of it with more knowledge on rehab and training. Wishing you a speedy recovery! I will only train in Lion’s Den apparel now! Stay strong friend!
