This is a quick time saver total bodyweight workout. Hit every major muscle group in under 30 minutes. Protect the health of your heart, mind, and body by adding strength training into your routine regularly. There are two workouts in this time-saver total body weights series. After warming up, we'll do two sets of each exercise, alternating between the lower and upper body. You'll also do 2 quick cardio bursts to pump that heart rate up.
If you're new to weight lifting, please follow Michele on the left side of your screen. This workout is appropriate for all fitness levels, beginner to advanced. To make it more challenging, pick up heavier weights, but always listen to your body.
There is a simple beat track in the background. I want you to put on your favorite music to help motivate you to work hard!
Equipment needed: one pair of light and heavy dumbbells, a mat or towel, and an optional chair if you're a beginner
Description: Warm-up with side lunges, 1/2 squats, squat knee lifts, side stretch, standing spinal twists, shuffles, and arm circles. Then you're ready to work with sumo squats and bicep exercises. On to curtsy's and standing chest squeezes, followed by quick cardio straight jumps. Next deadlifts and overhead shoulder presses followed by lunge backs and side raises and a quick cardio jack section. Finally in a supine position for flies and bridges. Finish out with a quick stretch. Go ahead and stretch any other muscles that you feel you need at the end.

Hi Jenny! I really enjoy this workout and also, Total Body Weight Workout 2. I usually alternate between these two workouts after doing a marching workout or shorter step workout as my cardio warm up. I started working out with your videos a while ago, and am amazed at the progress. When I started, I couldn't even do one lunge without losing my balance and falling over. I am 55+ yrs of age but really want to keep in shape and remain mobile in my later years. Now, after following your workouts regularly, I can do many lunges, lunges with weights, lunges with kicks, you name it, and I never fall over! My kicks are a lot higher too and I am so much stronger and more flexible too. I really want to thank you so much...you have such a variety of workouts to choose from, different levels from beginner to very challenging so I am never bored but I am really getting into a much better level of fitness and health thanks to you. You are just awesome Jenny!

The thumbnail image is so awesome. Were you all on each other's back? LOL It has been a while since you posted a strength training workout, so I know I am going to love it. I have done your classic toning workout so many times until now and each time I am sore for at least 2 days.

Yes, the night before we filmed, I had a dream about doing a photo where we did a plank pyramid stacked on each other, and I love how it turned out! I will look forward to hearing what you think after you try it out. There is a second total body workout that goes along with this one. I'll be posting it in the next little while. How heavy were your dumbbells Jenny? Looks like you've really bumped them up since the jumpstart series. The light ones were 10 and the heavy 15? You have become fitter and stronger since you delivered your last baby 😁😁💪💪

Mita Majumdar good eye! Yes heavy one’s 15 light ones 10 in this workout. I switch it up when filming, sometimes go heavier sometimes lighter depending on location or just depending on the day. What about you? Do you like heavier weights Mita?

@@JennyFordFitness I wish I could. My upper body is so weak, can't go higher than 8lbs, that too for certain moves. I had to go down to 5lbs for lateral raises. I do better with lower body exercises but haven't gone beyond 10lbs. I started working out seriously only in my late 30s and fell off the wagon so many times in between. So it has been an uphill task for me. For the last year and a half I have been working out consistently Monday through Friday, lost 45lbs, so I hope I can stick to it moving forward. I don't enjoy working out after a long work day but I force myself to do it to be fit and healthy more than losing weight.
