*Update after part 3*, lionheart has since beginning of the Lp Won 3 battles and lost 1 battle. He fought 4 battles himself and auto resolve 0 battle. He killed 3310 men of the enemies and lost 1579 of his own men. Also lost 159 men to friendly fire.

I know that 6 years passed from when you said,but it was because of turkic-mongolian-hunnic governing which says it's a taboo to eat or drink while walking on the street,but bigger than that was drinking alcohol to stopping cultural problems. incest,homosexuality,adulteration and much more things are a huge no no even for hordes of huns.Magyars were exactly different from them

lionheart don't you need to spread out your hordes otherwise or you will consume all the fertility in the region will disappear? if so you need to build your military so you can sack cities to keep your economy running rather than relying your villages/hordes. I think that might be a useful tactic as a horde faction. great vids :)

I don't even own the game yet but I do know that if you're playing as a horde faction, you have to keep your armies away from each other or you'll have a lot of penalties.

Camps on their own get messed up. You need to keep them within assistance of eachother.

I love the maps in these games, all the little details, the buildings... the way mining villages will have mines and farming villages with have farmlands etc. Its great. Each town looks different, has a unique set of buildings. Each culture has different architectural design, and its all historically accurate. They obviously put a lot of effort into the battlefield/village designs. I love just looking around the towns and villages before a battle or siege, really helps with immersion.

Minor suggestion: you might want to move out of the regions you have just razed because from what I gather the region fertility effects your food and income in encampment stance. Look for greener pastures, literally.

From what I've heard, its not a good idea to keep your hordes too close to each other.

This might have been suggested all ready, but I think these two ideas will help you. First it is better to settling your hordes down in territory that hasn't been razed. Second one of your army should always be raiding enemy territory. Settling your Hordes in territory will help your money situation because the Hun get more a population growth and your sheep herds do better in territory that hasn’t been razed. Raiding the enemy is the best way to earn the quick cash which you can use to build your army.

You aren't supposed to have more than 1 horde on the same province, if u do your armies get a penalty, i got to year 400 AD and Attila was born but i'm still figuring out if I m supposed to move and loot other's settlements or just sit tight until 420 as it is the second objective as Attila would be 20 yo :S

I think you are getting this huge food shortage because all of your hordes are in the same region ! Isn't your faction "trait" the fact that every horde raises food consumption by 20 in the region? Good episode nevertheless, looking forward to another osdyrian-like great exode :)

Lionheart, the way to go in the future might be to sack then subjugate. So that way you build up tribute and allies over time and don't create an area of attrition and low fertility for yourself but you still get money from looting.

Y'know, from what I can tell, the huns seem like a pretty hardcore faction. The way they can't take any cities is going to make things substantially harder, and the best income seems to be sacking and razing. Finally, a faction that is worthy of being called hard. You done good, CA.

Pretty sure razing everything in your path is a bad move. Better sack and let them recover a bit, rinse and repeat.

The real reason he has no food is because of the Rivalry mechanic they added to balance out the Hunnic faction. The closer each horde are to eachother the more food they consume. This is so you can't steamroll with like 5 hordes I guess. each horde is supposed to branch out and conquer it's own path in Creative Assembly's vision. Took me a while to figure this mechanic out.

Meanwhile the Sassanids are completely imbalanced. I'm steamrolling the game on Legendary with barely any effort. The new nomadic element of the huns is hard enough, I do not believe they needed to nerf them as hard as they did upon release.

Actually everyone has a point,Tengri is a Turkic word but Mongols and Turks have similiarities between them , Tengri means "God" in Turkich language,now turks using word "Tanrı" for god ,you can see similarities between them,and both mongols and Turks are altaic people,for huns, they are mostly turks but they can be some mongols.

Lionheart, not sure if you saw this but I think the gates and stuff got captured MUCH faster when you descended with the horde... Maybe this means that multiple units on a position can capture a point faster in Attila?

Is it a good idea to constantly raze everything? It seems to me that it would be better to take out their large armies, sack, and move on. That way they can build up a bit and you can sack it a second time in a few turns, and hopefully they haven't had the time or money to build their armies up too much. Razing the settlements means it's unlikely that you'll ever be able to sack it again since it probably won't be settled again. You'll have to keep moving on to new areas and fighting dozens of factions just to keep afloat.

just started playing as eastern Rome, its now Turn 25, i only lost 3 settlements of my starting ones (all in Greece), and took 2 new settlements in the east from the Sassanids

Lionheartbroseph you reaaaaally oughta stop thinking like an medeaval warlord and start thinking as a hun, since ur a hunnic faction and all. The best advice i can think of here is to start fighting in the technique i like to refer to as the benny hill warstyle ( yes with benny hill music :-) ) cus huns do hit and run, this is what they are designed for, without this ur njot using them to their full potential. I love your lets plays though thanks for making them, keep up the good work :-)

I like the mongolian music although it gives more of a feel that you´re playing Genghis Khan instead of Attila. As for the game being harder I hope that is true for the late game as well. I have in 10 years of playing total war ever only finished one campaign since when you reach a certain power level the game gets to easy to be stimulating to me.

Help me out lionheart, I can't seem to get that population growth to get high enough to recruit a fourth general. It's mind boggling, I'm on around turn 20. It says that my growth increases from razing lands: So I obliterated everything in sight, while building things that allowed me to up the growth... Yet nothin' so far. Just the 3 meanies wrecking havoc.

are you able to be made into a client state or tribute to the Huns Because that was a big thing in the time period the Huns made Rome pay tribute to them and that could be an interesting mechanic I never understood why I couldn't offer to be someones client state I get you want to be your own empire but why not be able to be a clinet state and then when you see a chance break away or over through your masters.

the subjugate option was the one you speak of. Makes them a tributary state. I think you can become a client state if you lose a war. not sure

Sounds like the specs on your laptop can't handle the game, you may need to put the graphical settings way down so it can run better.

AI is still rubbish, they have a huge army which would be an epic battle if they retreated and fought you in the walls, instead they left the city unmanned and let you go straight past them, thats the kind of immersion that really screws this game up for me, sure htey have improved a lot but if the ai is still incompetent then the game will be boring.

Question did anyone encounter problems with bastards im quite new to the game but my "Viking King" has like 30 of those every season 1 or 2 its getting crazy... he also smashed his brothers face to death as i/he tried to castrate him...
