I love your videos giving Dave Ramsey a verbal punch in the stomach. His terrible financial advice had me stressed all the time and I stopped going out with my friends and family bc that was spending unnecessary money. I sold so much of my belongings trying to be "gazelle intense" (that's what he called going all in). It actually sent me into a bad depression. I eventually tossed his books and found your channel. You've been amazing in helping me, a fellow adhd person, with my finances. I downloaded YNAB and it has made things so much easier and clearer. Thank you so much Lexa ❤️❤️

I just found your channel and I want to cry honestly. Money has been such a touchy subject for me but I really want to do better. I was diagnosed with adhd last year and now my impulsive spending makes so much sense. I found Dave Ramsey when I first started this journey and I felt so terrible about myself after every video and hearing his advice. I love how transparent you are. So happy to be here ❤

Some jobs check credit scores now so i hate when people say they don't matter. When I do no spend challenges it doesn't work because after that challenge is over I go crazy spending to make up for not spending.

Same! I cut my budget down to basically nothing for 4 months to pay off my credit card bill. Then guess what. I felt free, started spending & racked up another balance (although not nearly as high). I slow paid that time. Cutting all the fun out is just not sustainable. It’s the same for me with strict diets leading to binging ice cream in the middle of the night. Now I always have ice cream in the freezer so I can have a little whenever I want. Curbs the scarcity mindset

I was totally scammed by whole life insurance. I wanted a Roth IRA & at the time I didn’t know how to get one or what a brokerage account was. I didn’t know I could sign up on fidelity or vanguard on my own. Investing was illusive and I talked to a friend of a friend and she convinced me to get a whole life ins policy instead. BUT she didn’t call it whole life, it had another 3 letter acronym and was framed as an investment vehicle. I had it for like 4 years. Like if only that $150 a month had actually gone to a Roth…

Ugh that is so frustrating I'm so sorry that happened to you! I hate that people prey on what we don't know!

Mind blowing... thank you for your honest content. As a fellow adhder, I think I can stand to make some different financial choices and actually feel better about them!

Good advice. I have people say that more income produces more taxes so they want to stay poor to pay less taxes.

This is such a good one that I should have included! I've heard the same thing. Somehow that myth that spread and people don't understand how tax brackets work!

I don’t like the advice that I need to sell my car for a clunker. I love my car and have a moderate note and low interest rate. Definitely keeping it lol
