When hearing that the photographs had been passed out to the media over the years, and none returned, leaving the family with only one picture of their daughter/sister, that made me cry. I can't imagine not having any pictures because the media were so careless with such precious items, leaving the family bereft of any remembrance of the little one.

I feel so sad for this little girl and her family. When I was 12, I was 5 foot ten, and looked like an adult. I often went places by myself. Often had adult men proposition me, and had some close calls, but my height and build( I was about 140,lbs , athletic, ) probably helped me. I also was street wise. This little one looked very young. So innocent. Sometimes, I think my physical size was a deterrent. Also, I think what some people fail to understand is that " freedom " does Not mean " safety." In fact, freedom can be quite unsafe. When people are allowed to roam around not being highly monitored, you have to be more cautious. Not everyone has the same values, or the same beliefs. There are many unstable people out there no one is caring for, their are many perverted folks allowed to have freedom too. It comes at a high price. I think these people are excellent parents, and just didn't perceive the danger being as high as it actually was. Please watch over your little ones, and never let them go out by themselves. We live among wolves. Be vigilant, pray, and look out for the vulnerable. God Bless each one of you watching. To Xi's family: I pray for your broken heart. You are a good family. Someday, you will see her again. God will do justice.

I feel sorry for the family. A sad story. I feel a possibility needs to be explored that she might have been taken out of Hawaii. I live in Edmonton Canada. Back in June we had a missing case of 13 year old girl vanishing. Luckily she turned out to be alive over 1500 miles away in Portland Oregon. It was quite a shock. No one expected her to be so far away. Need to look through Jane Does in as many places as possible. I hope things will get resolved. There are cases where missing people are found after decades. Another suggestion try ancestry. Maybe she indeed lives far away under different name. In these cases you have to explore as many possibilities and avenues as you can.

Wow... I know exactly where that area is. No bodies of water she could've fell into near there. It's all roads and buildings. This area is somewhat near the freeway and there's a fair number of homeless and other transients around there, some with drug addiction and mental problems. Oahu is such a small place compared to the states. It's absolutely baffling this poor girl would get taken in such a conspicuous area and worst of all not found yet. Oahu does have some remote areas in the north and northwest side of the island and there's a fair number of places where there is no development except for highways at high elevations. Take a look at the H3 in street view for example. The sides of the H3 is nothing but steep greenery.

I was born in Honolulu and grew up in Ewa Beach and during the 80s and 90s that area of the island was not that heavily developed, I can actually remember acers upon acres of sugar canes fields all the way up til the mid 90s in areas that are now all covered in homes and businesses. But you're right it's so bizzare to think on a small island she could vanish and not be found..so so sad.

Thoughts: She is in a high visibility area with bustling roads and stores, in addition she is drawing attention to herself by approaching people to sell tickets. At any time, she too could be approached-perhaps a curious stranger wanting to know what she's selling, a previous ticket buyer deciding to purchase more, or someone that declined a ticket but changed their mind and want one after all, or even her parents who may be lurking nearby. The perpetrator would be taking a HUGE risk to snatch this little one in that area. He would especially draw attention if he were a different nationality trying to pick her up or stuff her in his bright yellow car! I think it's more likely he was a neighbor on one of the side streets--less visible--and likely the same nationality. This happens when school is over, but before dinner. An unattended little girl is opportunistic, but he'd have to make sure his own schedule is clear. He was likely ending his work day or off work entirely or even unemployed. If he is married, his wife would be expecting him and his own kids would be home. Crimes of opportunity are usually committed by unorganized offenders like people with drinking drug issues, mental illness like schizo, problems with adulting and being irresponsible. They often don't have wives and kids. If they snatch a kid, they do their thing and sloppily leave the kid on the side of the road where the kid is usually easily found. This child has never been found, so someone hid her well--an organized offender. This makes me think it was partially opportunistic and partially planned. I'm thinking a neighbor who knew she was selling tickets, knew her parents weren't around, weren't easily seen, didn't have any responsibilities that day or family around. She may have asked him to buy a ticket earlier in the week and he started thinking about taking her then and hoped he'd encounter her again. He probably waited on one of the side streets. She probably knew of him, trusted him to some degree. Another thing..robbery could be a lesser motive..kid walking around with cash while alone although she wouldn't have a large amount. Druggies will take what they can get. I also worry about older kids/teenagers.
