Biggest mistake was chasing high dividends and not realising that this might be a sign of a company with issues or a downtrend. Cause me about 8000 in only a few weeks but still a valuable lesson.

OMG! I did the same mistake with penny stocks. Thought I was the only one who has done that. I was ashamed to talk about it. Thank you so much for inspiring me and letting me know about your mistakes.

Can we solar cost average each month in Australia? I’m with Commsec and so $500 is the minimum go purchase stocks…

Great video Tracey, my biggest lesson was realising that you can't always get out of a stock if it drops very quickly, even if you have a stop-loss in place

Exactly, learn from experience and dollar cost averaging is the way ahead.

I'm a new investor and thank you so much for showing us that making mistakes is normal (provided that we've learned from them). I look for videos like yours to teach myself and later teach my kids 10 and 13-year old to being investing now. I am a buy-n-hold, dividend investor. I want cashflow! I too look for companies with DY at or around 5% or greater. To do this, my strategy/plan is to look at Good indicators like: is the company overvalued using P/E, P/B, PEG. Is the company a solid company but at a discount due to man-made events. Then I expand the company's graphical performance 5Y to its MAX, is this company growing over time? Where is the MA (50) compared to MA (200) trending. When is it time to buy? Patience! Keeping up with RSI (14), is it below 40? I have to feel confident about my strategy. If I can't find any companies matching my strategy above, then I just save or buy more existing companies when they dip.

Hey Tracey! Thank you so much for this video. I have one question that could potentially be a mistake but might need your help to decide. I am dollar cost averaging into dividend stocks using a fractional approach if the shares are above $50 USD (I invest $150 AUD a week) and multiples if the share price is less than $50. I like US shares because, I lived there for three years, there is more information on US shares than Australian shares, this is a satellite and not my core investment strategy. What do you think? Cheers!

Thank you for the video. its very enlightening. I hope I can follow your path to financial independence. Hope you can discuss next time a rough plan on how you started. Your plan,,,dont know where to start
@DavidEVogel3 жыл бұрын
Your plan,,,dont know where to start The best way to learn about stock market investing is to do it. Open a Robinhood account. Load it with $1,000. This is your “play money.” Buy and sell. You will learn more in 1 day than watching videos for a month.

Invest in blue chip dividend stocks and etfs and you will be set. Don’t put your hard earned money in speculation that is not investing. Investing is simple and easy if you make it simple

If you follow the trends and follow what everyone is doing you will get burned every-time and not make money. The popular stocks and trends are never a good long term investment. They will always go down at some point and will most likely not go up
