Good Lord! That Cobra is beautiful! I had a 03' when they first came out, mineral gray. Miss that car.

Thank you. I'm the original owner and am going to hold on to the car for a long time. Here's an old video of the Cobra at the drag strip kzbin.info/www/bejne/apWce5aiZsqtb6M

Not sure what you mean when you state the Goodyear are non directional tread. My GSC3 tires are directional.
@BeastZL13 жыл бұрын
The tires reviewed in the video are the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires. Goodyear has several similar sounding tire names, but these tires are not directional. They do have an inside and outside mounting on the wheel, but can be mounted on either side of the vehicle. The RE71R tires are directional and cannot be swapped side to side after they are mounted.

Thanks for the comparison ! I have a ZLE coming and may use your info in the future. Currently kicking around bfg or re71r in 305 or possibly 325 in the supercar3. I need a 200tw tire for autocross classing.

The RE71R come up to temp much faster than the GYSC3. The RE71R is better for autocross.

If you run 305/30/19 G3s on your Apex wheels i guarantee that delta shrinks and it becomes much closer.

Thanks for the review. Do you have any unscientific information on how the Supercar3's might compare to the Hankook RS4 as far as grip and tread life?
@BeastZL14 жыл бұрын
I don't have direct experience, but other drivers have said that the RS4's are the longest lasting road course tire. They take longer to come up to temp than the GYSC3's or RE71R's (especially.) The RS4's also seem to have more limited availability.

I appreciate the review and I'm not trying to be a offensive but I have a few questions. The reason I ask is I have seen reviews from other well-respected drivers/SCCA national champions that have shown the opposite result. From a background standpoint, I Track my car somewhat competitively and I also ran a test lab in a former life. I bring this up because in order to get valid test results and a meaningful comparison the parameters and variables need to remain consistent among products. First and foremost, is there a reason you did not run a 305 front on the Goodyear SC3 vs the 285? (The 285 has almost 1" narrower tread width than the 305). What were the testing parameters? For example did you do a warm-up lap then a flying lap, how many laps with each tire did you run? Was there variation in times from left to lap? What width rims were you running on both combinations? Without understanding the details the test results are inconclusive if trying to use it as a means to draw a conclusion on which tire to run. In addition, running a smaller tire up front makes this comparison invalid.

Pete, thanks for the reply. In the description for the video you'll read, "This is a review based on my experience on track with both tires. It is not a scientific "Tirerack" style test." It is also not intended for Autocross.
