4:10 what I meant to say is that automation is still accessible when re-transforming, even if you rendered your insert effect plugins in - so if you want to - temporarily! - commit to your insert effects chain to conserve CPU processing power (while still having the option for total recall if you want to adjust something later) - leave "Render Inserts" ticked. :) Sorry for being a bit unclear there. -GBY

I've moved to Studio One last summer and each day I'm working on my music I realize what a great decision that was! I'm still getting surprised because every workflow idea that I might have is actually already available in Studio One. This one in particular is probably one of the best and very useful options inside the program. It helps me a lot with my drum tracks and orchestration and realising that there is an option for external intruments is mind-blowing! Keep up the good work and thank you for valuing the workflow like no other, your focus is on the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

It would be great if transformed tracks retain their history when saved to musicloops. Another thing that would nice is that transformed tracks (from midi) are visible within the midi editor ([read only] for reference purposes), even without having to drag them to another instrument track. Lastly, midi data generated from audio tracks analyzed by Melodyne should (one day) be accessible and editable within the midi editor (2-way ARA communication).

Hey Gregor, thanks for the awesome videos, always very helpful! I've noticed that in some songs when I try to transform a track it will attempt to render way more files than there are events on the corresponding track. If I try to recreate this in a new song, track transform works as expected where the number of files correspond to the number of events on the track. Is there a reason why it might be doing this in larger songs? Seems strange to me because it takes a long time to render and creates a lot of unnecessary data. Any help would be most appreciated :)

@@presonus Well, the midi note editor allows to show/hide every track notes independently, and that's a WIN. I wonder if there's a way to color code the notes depending on the track (or midi channel! there's my "2 cents"!) when seeing/editing various instrument tracks at once. Also, I'd be great to have some king "layer viewing system" to bring to front or send to back different instrument tracks, cause many times notes overlap or end up hidden behind. But maybe that depends on track order (that would be smart). Will check it out later! Thanks for answering, G!

The plugins on a track must be activated to be rendered and read right? The Bitcrusher on your track was off, so how come it was read after you transformed it?
@presonus
@presonus 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Aziz, that is because there is a bypass automation on the Track that activates the Bitcrusher plugin in the second half. I did this for easier A-B comparison. -GBY

Is there a way to tell visually on a track if it has been transformed to Audio? I find it's hard to remember which tracks I have transformed to save CPU when I have 50+ tracks.

Hi, transformed Instrument Tracks have Midi notes shining through the rendered audio waveform. However, on Audio Tracks, it is indeed hard to spot this. This is a feature request that we are aware of & hopefully able to address soon. -GBY

Hi Asif, we only have track transform, not channel transform as of version 5.2 - so bus channels can not be transformed unfortunately. -GBY

And when you place some fx on the audio track and return to midi track, the new effects are gone. Super!!!((( Presonus simply released unfinished product!

Thanks Gregor - could you clarify what is the difference with audio when you Bounce To New Track as opposed to Transform To Rendered Audio? Bounce To New Track prints the audio with plugin effects to a new track. Is there anything in addition that Transform To Rendered Audio does which is different ? I can't quite work out what the difference is. Thanks for the video.

I think it's pretty much the same as bouncing to new track, only with transform you have the option of going back to it's original state which is pretty cool.

@@paulgigliottimusic If you Bounce To New Track your original is still there. So there must be something else.
@presonus

Hi Gary, there is an important distinction between transform and bounce, namely that the latter is a destructive method, whereas the former method is not. In case of Bounce To New Track, that's still destructive processing - it's just that the file gets copied first before the destructive processing is applied. Nonetheless, it's still destructive. Hope that makes sense. -GBY

@@presonus yes thanks I understand it better now - but how about rationalising these functions under one heading ? Why would you choose one over the other? Why not just use Transform for everything? I was using the Bounce functions and had not even really known about Transform. Now I wonder if I will use Bounce again.....

Gregor - I can't help thinking that Presonus need to streamline terminology and function - Bounce To New Track, Bounce, Transform Track - Transform to Rendered Audio, and then the orange light for Render in the Inspector (is it not the same as Bounce?). Do they not all do very similar things? It might be something for Presonus to group all these functions under one name and have sub menu options - then we would all know what circumstance is appropriate for each sub menu option and what it will do. Just my user's two pennyworth!

Hello, I am in the process of setting up my new studio at home. I would like to Resume livestreaming with Studio One. I always see the excellent GregorBeyerle in his studio. Behind it a big Studio One poster. That would be a great fit for me. Would it be possible to buy such a poster. That would be great. I look forward me on your answer. Best regards from Austria
