Most people who claim to be “Christians” are simply people who are just attending church. They love the music, they enjoy the fellowship, but they rarely read their Bible, and they don’t have a clear understanding of their faith. This type of culture within the church has been years in the making, but it’s good that these conversations are being had. Hopefully, new ministries will spring up that actually focus on teaching and discipleship, and not prosperity.

We have to pray for revelation. Not just in the church member but especially in the Pastors.. once you have true revelation, you teach differently .. People develop a thirst for a deeper relationship with the Lord. You want to search the word for yourself... you want wisdom and understanding. That promotes deliverance.

The church is US not the building. We Christians should stop this nonsense and leave these building that resembles night clubs. Jesus reminds us that the poor will always be with us, stop thinking that everyday is going to be rosey, its not, but faith will get you through any situation. Jesus is the answer.

Yes I really believe that is what needs to happen. We as a church need to bring back community groups that allow people to have a strong unit of believers that assist them in their spiritual walk of life. However that will cost them to be vulnerable with others.

Why are we putting the blame on the Church? Yes, pastors/church leaders have a responsibility to equip Believers for Kingdom work. However, it does not exempt the individual Believer from studying the Word, praying, evangelizing, and seeking God for her/himself. WE need to grow up and stop drinking the cup of idolatry. We LOVE the world more than we love the Word.
@Hakeem5975 ай бұрын
True, but also, judgement begins with the house of God. The greatest danger to the Gospel comes from the pulpit. Moses, Aaron and Miriam were leaders of the congregation....Aaron, the high priest, made the congregation a golden calf. Moses did not regard God as holy and glorify him before the congregation. Miriam wanted to take Moses' spot. Because of these things, none of them were able to enter the promise land. Aaron's sons (who were more than likely drunk with wine) offered strange fire and received the wrath of God. Double accountability will be required of a lot of these pastors, false prophets, teachers, etc. If people are departing the faith, they never belonged to Christ to begin with. If you have Christ, you have the Holy Spirit, and it is this anointing that is within you (the Holy Spirit) who teaches you all things (1 John 2:27)...we are without excuse and we have the 66 canonical books of the bible. If you want to know what God is saying, its in His word and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:14-15, how can they hear without a preacher? Yes, we should be spending our own time in the Word individually but our leaders in the body carry a significant responsibility to preach the Truth, which is why James said that many should not be teachers because they will be judged more strictly (James 3:1)
@dwayneford92135 ай бұрын
Amen on putting the Judgment of God on the House of God, meaning All have sinned and fall short to the Glory of God. We live in a later day society where people are blaming everyone from the parents to the teachers, to law enforcement to the preacher, but never themselves for their behavior and individual sin.
@Hakeem5975 ай бұрын
@cass2883 exactly, which is why we have God's word. We are to not believe every spirit, but test the (1 John 4:1) we do that with the word...but the problem is people who follow these false teachers do not read the word.

There will be Christians going to hell along with those who are in leadership who is full of Idolatry.

Even as a believer we will learn daily the things to be removed from our lives to become more like our savior Christ Jesus, who came to serve from, the sinner, to the scribes and Pharisees. What we need to learn is, no one is perfect, we all fall short of His glory, and Jesus is why we have victory. Biblical teaching on removing sin and suffering will be in our walk as we grow in our faith... God is always good, we always don't see that. Love, joy, peace is from God

I don’t fully agree with Jackie on this topic. Suffering has its place but Prosperity also has its place in the gospel. This is one reason why ppl are dropping the gospel to pick up the bag because of doctrine that’s rooted in Catholicism. Literally, look up the definition of salvation in the Greek. It’s a benefits package.. you get deliverance, welfare, preservation, and prosperity. And it works in all nations. Read Isa. 61 to get an understanding of what Jesus was anointed for. Leaving Christianity is possible. I use to ignorantly call myself a Christian which is really just a title and Christianity is just a religion. Studying scripture and the the history of the title “Christian/Christianity” with the help of the Ruach Hokodesh (Holy Spirit) gave me such a clear understanding of this as well when I took it up with the Father, fasted and prayed about it. Anyone can call themselves Christians shoot kkk call themself Christians. I know many Christians who just go to church (most all their life) and don’t know the word at all nor have a relationship with The Father 😢, don’t care to keep the commandments especially the sabbath (Saturday) and just think all the old laws are done away with yet tithing stays. Makes no sense. I myself am a believer of the Most High Elohim a Follower of the way and a blood bought believer according to Acts 24:14. I’m not attached to any religion and have a beautiful relationship with The Father and Christ Yahusha (Jesus).

The notion of backsliding should never cross your mind when he said that he would never leave you for sake you and that we are sealed until the day of redemption somewhere along this journey, people started adding to scripture instead of taking God at his word when I hear people talking about their faith you were never surrender spirit, soul, and body to believe what the Christ has done for you. For those who may have “walked away from the faith” in agreement with questioning if they were really of the faith. In this word Jesus says he never new them: Matthew 7:22-23 (NIV): 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

The prosperity gospel Doesn’t say that we won’t go through things as Christians. I’m confused about this conversation. Who has ever preached that you won’t have problems and deal with persecution? The point is, everything will be great because God is GREATER than it all. That’s what brings the joy despite everything! And tithing and offering is biblical so any pastor that mentions tithing and the law of sowing and reaping is preaching sound doctrine. If we don’t tithe we are literally robbing God. Generously Tithing allows God to break open the heavens and send down blessings to us so we can reap what we’ve sown.

To say people can't leave the faith is to insinuate that they cease to exercise their freewill once they are saved. Also that apostasy is ficticous. Judas cast out devils and healed the sick, Judas had an intimate relationship with God (Jesus), He was discipled. He believed in the Messiah (The Gospel), followed Him and obeyed His instructions. His relationship with God was initiated by God, even though God knew Judas would betray Him. God does not preserve His salvation and fellowship only for those He knows they will never leave. He is the only One who is trustworthy- not us. God won't let go, as long as we do not let go ourselves. We can definitely let go, it is your prerogative. You can definitely reject your salvation. Only those who over come & endure till the end will be saved. Judas and Peter were in the same predicament, Peter overcame and endured till the end.

Matthew 13. Seed falls on the people. The people’s life styles seem to be the different types of soil. The Lord cultivates your soil much like a gardener. I think the seed with very little soil is trying to grow where the believer won’t let the master break up the rocks of your heart to allow the seed to take root. The seed can sprout quickly but it never goes deep enough to take hold.

While I do agree that many who think they believe don't actually believe, there is something such as "leaving the faith". Hebrews 6:4-6 NLT For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come- and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

Not even sure what Jackie was going on about not applying in Rwanda. Why can't prosperity be preached in Rwanda? Is it only Americans that desire a good life? Or does she think they don't have testimonies over there? You guys are basically spouting Calvinistic stuff and acting like it's not highly contentious. There was a video I saw on YT recently. Was asking why does Mike Winger (who disagrees with Calvinism) not call out the likes of James White as false teachers, the same way he goes after prosperity preachers. That question applies here also. If God will not lose you, you don't need to fear whether you are in or not; in Calvinism, it isn't up to you anyway. So whatever advice Sean was giving is essentially irrelevant. Imo, if non calvinists are wrong, it doesn't matter, God "programed" them that way. On the other hand, if you calvinists are wrong, I find your theology to be just as dangerous as greedy prosperity preachers, and completely hypocritical with regards to preaching the gospel. I get the feeling you'd deny being calvinists, but if you think about it deeply, its the same theology, or at least Calvinism is better thought out.
