Jared appreciate the video. all of your videos are very educational but I wish you would have went a little more into developing a market bias. a little light lit up on your segment about market bias. this is something I think could be very beneficial. Gaining a better understanding on how you should be looking at the market day after day. the chart reading ahhh I would say you've touched on this many times. however I do like the placing something over the chart to practice reading. btw no trolling or leaving stupid comments from me I'm really trying to learn. keep up the good work. salute

Hey, Jared nice educational videos it has helped me in my trading career I see the three-bar play almost every day it was in ICD, MRIN, MOSY on the 5 min chart today. The thing is I've got my entry and exit (2:1 or 3:1) all right but I feel like I am missing some profits above 2:1 Risk reward is that normal to just give up on profits or is there a method I can use to scale up my profit taking levels?

Hey Jared, thanks for the awesome video!! I am speaking with customer service at Tradestation, looking to open an account and i want to follow your lessons down to the program. I need some guidance in choosing my subscription. I am new to trading, going to have about 10-15k in my account. Which market data subscription should i be using? a customer service rep recommended Russell 2,000, Nasdaq #3 and Enchanced market depth. Can you share your thoughts?

I’ve watched about 10 of your full length lectures and though I’m still learning the basic principles and strategies, it has been one of the best free resources I have found for learning this skill. Simply put, I have wasted hours and hours of my time digging through content and articles, only to be disappointed in the quality or even accuracy of the information. I am in the financial industry and so naturally I am questioning the validity of what I am hearing and It has been a struggle to find good resources for free on this skill, and I have definitely received the most benefit from yours and Rayner Teo’s channels. Thank you for sharing your knowledge for free and keeping the integrity of the content and business by sharing accurate information! I’ll keep watching and I just subscribed!

Thanks for the vid. A couple of comments. 1. If your expectation is the market will be up/down on the day, trade the index instead of trying to play wack a mole on stocks. As a trader look for the most consistent thing to trade. If you do want to trade stocks, have a good way of measuring the overall direction of the market and know where you are within that market. Only trade the stocks that make up that index and be guided by the daily on the index. Know how your stock effects the index both positive, negative and neutral. Organize your stocks into sectors and know how each sector effects the index. 2. 2nd example shows a three drives down pattern. Look for a turn after the 3rd drive. 3. The further a pull back is away from the start of the trend, the greater the probability that the continuation will be less. This is true most of the time but you need to watch market sentiment. If you are in a fast moving market you are going to see rest spots. These are different to pull backs. The best pull backs only retrace slightly. Large pull backs can lead to trend reversals so be careful. Look for hook turns at the start of new trends.

Today marks my first 2 weeks of trading. My very first day I netted $200. Then the next 3 days I lost $600 because of the false sense of confidence I obtained on the first day. I'm now back to even after religiously watching videos like yours and understanding risk versus gambling. I didn't invest anything I wasn't prepared to lose entirely, but I am beginning to realize this is a marathon rather than a sprint.

Money Management is your #1 job. Risk SMALL amounts of money, like $10 per trade. That means don't lose more than $10 if you're wrong.
@tyvin84 жыл бұрын
Brother; nooby mistake #1 is thinking with a little education you know what you're doing. Risk management: psych management...study price action, what the candles are telling you, support/resistance, emas, volume, divergence, and that's just the tip of the ice-berg...it takes time. On average I would say the best can get a handle on it and trade from home in 2 years time. Then there's all the nooby mistakes that everyone goes through...good luck. Word of the year = patience
@devonteforeman4 жыл бұрын
@@tyvin8 I was actually planning to lose everything I put in. My investment is less than 1% of my current liquidity, so I really did not care if my decisions ended in disaster. I also opted out of margin so my losses would be limited. I'm up $400 after shorting oil on Friday though. I fully expect to sustain more losses, but if I learn from them, then that was my objective in the first place. Investing isn't a fail-safe for me, nor is it some get rich scheme. I am more than content with what I earn from network analysis.

This was really great. The 'market bias' part in particular. (On the topic of 'unconscious competence' etc, sounds like aspects of the Dunning-Kruger Effect in psychology. In a nutshell: "As described by social psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger, the bias results from an internal illusion in people of low ability and from an external misperception in people of high ability; that is, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others". )

Just buy or sell on the first bar entirely below or above the MA after a trend reverses. Works very well. Keep it simple. I like to use a 12-day MA when trading the 1-minute chart. The method is great in trending markets and best avoided when a price is choppy. Combine it with trendlines and you've got 70-90% correct indicators.

I'm on board with the advice, but a note about the TA on the slide from your book: The only TA that could be done in real time is the Stock and QQQ gapping up, and the daily analysis of the V and consolidation. You can't know that the market would continue upward during prior analysis, although while searching for an entry, you can see the market is trending with the stock.
