For any vehicle where you want great (and sometimes loud) sound but without the drone or annoying the neighbors in the morning, valved exhausts are a revelation. I have a Capristo with a remote control. Hit the button to open the valve and it sounds great even at lower revs. Switch to the closed position and it's very quiet, yet it has a little computer that will automatically open the valve above 3000 rpm if you really put your foot in it. Best of all worlds.

I have built a 2021 f-150 for my little brother with the 2.7l in it and I will till you doing 3" down pipes with race cats is where the real power and sound adder is on this engine. Ford loves to coke the exhaust on their engines. The build as it is right now is 3" down pipes into race cats then merge into 4" exhaust with an axle dump. Blow off valve conversion and CAI and a 5 star tune. Making about 480 at the wheels and if he keeps his foot out the gas makes about 18-19 city and @75mph will easily hit 24mpg. Next on his list is the intercooler, cold and hot side pipes, and inlet feed pipes for the turbos. Once we have that done we can turn the boost up to over 25 psi and have some real fun. Truck is fun to drive but nothing will have to pucker up like braking the tries loss at 60mph when you WOT on the interstate HAHA. Love the build

I was surprised how good the stock exhaust sounded. It's not fantastic, but its a lot better than I would have thought. The magnaflow is definetely an improvement though, I have one on my 4Runner and I LOVE it. You get some aggressive sound but no drone. I used to have a Flowmaster exhuast, which sounded awesome, but with all the highway driving I do, I couldn't stand the drone. Looking forward to what comes next on the Bronco.

Yuss more Bronco mod vids... all about it. I've considered an exhaust option but power-wise it's a very minimal improvement over OEM and I'm not sure a little sound difference is worth the $1k+ ish to me? Still feels more glam/fashion buy than a practicality move. I've kind of put it off, in my head, to when I need a new exhaust... then it's a good play but... idk... haven't sold myself on this upgrade yet. Being in Arizona I need to put my money into clearance right now... big rocks everywhere. Cheers Brad, can't wait for the other Bronco vids

Hey Brad. I think we all have dreams of a post lift! A suggestion to make life on the creeper easier. Grab a pair of rhino ramps. They work great. Stable and safe. They’ll give you an extra 8 inches or so of room under the vehicle so you don’t feel so confined under there. 👍🏼

Piece of advice , next time , get some heat resistant manifold tape , put a layer on the inside fitting pipe at each joint , it will seal completely and rust on the joints will not impede you as much getting it apart. Also as far as putting the studs into the rubber hangers , use a C clamp when compressing against 90 degree angles.

Thanks for the vid! My consensus on aftermarket exhaust system videos are that they are very difficult to translate over video footage. I'm sure that there are several factors effecting this outcome. Nevertheless, for this type of application the benefits I can see with this are maybe in weight reduction and extra clearance. Most modern vehicles, including high performance vehicles, have very quiet OEM exhaust systems and/or are governor-limited to rev their engines beyond a set RPM when at a standstill. I can probably get on-board with having a little bit extra tone over the stock set-up, but not much more over that. I don't think I would want a very loud exhaust on my off-road capable daily driver, but that's just me.

If youre going sasquatch then 2.7. though the 2.3 is not bad with 35s and the 4.7 gears on the squatch. If youre going to run 33"s or less, the 2.3 will give you the best real-world mpg and will perform great. I work in power train/nvh testing and development at Roush/Ford. Ive driven quite a few Bronchi 🤣. I also have a sasquatch OBX 2.7. I get 18-19mpg on trips 70mph and 19-20mpg 65mph. Mid grade fuel.

@@TrailRecon Hey Brad! Thanks for getting back to me. I would love to have a discussion (or even see a video) about plusses and minuses of the key candidates. I currently drive a 2010 FJ Cruiser, which I love, but it's getting a little long in the tooth and doesn't have a lot of oomph on the highway. To my mind, the candidates would be Bronco (which model), Wrangler/Gladiator, Defender, Tacoma or.... Rivian? GM loves nothing more than to completely miss the mark. The Wrangler, Bronco, and 4Runner are printing money. Their manufacturers sell every one they build for full price and even have a waiting list. GM's response to the ultra-hot 4x4 market? A $100k 9000lb electric Hummer and the once-storied Blazer name slapped on a restyled Equinox. They could have easily engineered a removable roof 4x4 SUV on the Colorado frame like Ford did with the Ranger.
