Hey Andrew great to see the first Trapping Tales for this year!!! Yeah been a tough year for trapping this year so far with shitty weather. Was =28c on Saturday and today its +2c and rain today, never no what to expect. We even dropped a sled through the ice just before Christmas, stupid weather!!! Keep the videos coming, take care and keep safe, Kevin.

I agree its slow all I got so far is 20 martin, 10 beaver and a couple of weasels, I just called the MNR today to get permission to go after a few wolves on my trapline as they have it closed as a reserve for them, we'll see.

Andrew you have the best trapping videos out there on KZbin, your personality and style are what makes your channel so unique. When I watch your videos it's like reading a good Stephan king novel,. Leaving me wanting more. I wish you many years of health , wealth and great trapping. Keep those vids coming, thankyou.

Nice to see the vid, sucks when something gets away especially a wolverine. I hear you on the snow conditions I couldn't ride my sled on the line til recently which really screws things up. Sharp tails are big but the Blue grouse is way bigger and better eating too but you probably don't have them around there they are mountain birds. Hopefully you catch up with that wolverine soon and connect on some wolfs. Can't wait for the next one

Hey Andrew keep the videos coming really enjoy them. Always nice to learn from another fellow trapper. Please don't let the haters get to you they got nothing better to do then rant and rave on things they know nothing about. I pick up a ton of tips from you, thanks. Cool to think my furs from the east coast of Canada end up in the same place as yours from the other side of the country. Keep up the good work and may your traps be full!!

Too bad this trapping year is off to a rough start for you. The weather is weird all over. It is +4C here today when it was -25C the other day. Odd. On the upside, you have a sweet ride with your dad's ski-doo for now. It would be interesting to see the build on Charlie's insulated 'boggan. Fur prices are supposed to go up this year so hopefully things will get better and you can make up for lost income with the wolves.

If I may.........I was trapping in the Yukon for years and most challenging was to catch all wolverines that I had on my line however after years of trying different methods I found that this worked the best. Set your 330 (without getting of snowmobile) by scooping snow next to your trail while sitting on your snowmobile then reach for the spruce branch break little branch and place it on the bottom of where you scooped the snow and then place 330 with trigger smeared with SCENT or some very very stinky small/tiny bait just enough to arouse wolverine leave it WITHOUT drag next to the trail. What you will find is that each and every time when wolverine comes by and tries (and he WILL) to sniff out the trigger he will set off 330 and his skull will get crushed, he will get killed INSTANTLY without moving one single step.Let me know if it will work for you also. Thanks
@mushercdn7 жыл бұрын
I'd be bringing some of Charlie's yellow snow, and a turd or two, and setting a few footholds for that wolf. You can buy replacement rubber pads and "dogs" (triggers) for the soft catch victors. Thanks for posting. Be safe.

greetings from South dakota….. enjoy your videos!! I've watched a lot of them…i run a small trapline in the late fall and winter for coyotes and badgers…years ago we had a lot of red fox but now the coyote numbers are high and they've ate all the fox up like a kid eats candy lol
@darwinrisinger65377 жыл бұрын
Those soft catch traps are famous for that the animal chews the rubber off the trap and that creates a gap and their foot can slip off.
