I would just like to say that I was a pet food specialist for a long time and it makes me very happy to see that you guys are feeding your dog a quality diet! Many times I see people who live in a van and have a dog and feed their dog a poor quality diet. Thank you for caring about your dogs nutrition and health

This was such a good video! I really liked the questions your viewers asked, they were some good questions. I always like to see what its like for other vanners/nomads with dogs. We have 3 dogs and do the vanlife in a passenger van. We too did a video recently what it's like to do vanlife with dogs if you guys were curious.

One main question I have that I cannot seem to find is the following: You see more and more often people take it upon themselves to break into vehicles when they know an animal is inside, even if there is airflow inside the vehicle or A/C (people can never be too sure). Does this ever concern you? I am scared if I do vanlife and bring my little doggie that someone will see him and try breaking in and take him because they are either just a thief or unrightfully scared for his safety. ***Disclaimer - I would never ever do anything to harm my little fur baby.

Aren’t dogs allowed in US Restaurants? I’ve bought 3 dog beds in different sizes for the guest dogs at my restaurant. And of course they get a sterling silver water bowl& a fresh dog bed sheet. Only the best for our best friends.
@hazelsilva42155 жыл бұрын
No, only service dogs are allowed in restaurants. It violates health code when pets are in there.

I think it would help Kramer wake up if you cracked a window to let in some light. I'd be curious if that helps. Btw, I LOVE y'all's videos! Well done and always interesting and thorough.

Hey I just wanted to note I live in Maine - Midcoast, and I have a dog and I think you're wrong about Maine not being dog friendly! ALL the local breweries around here are dog friendly as well as some coffee shops and stores there are tons of places to hike and walk with your dogs here, there are dog parks in every town, there are beaches and trails that are fun places to go explore with your dog... there are dogs everywhere here! And if you walk downtown with your dog you'll find dishes of water with dog biscuits for your pup outside stores. Example check out The Pour Farm Brewery in Union, they just put a picture and post on Face book today ( 2/14 ) with 3 dogs at the Brewery.

Hey Cami! Thanks for the information, it's awesome to know that Maine is actually quite dog-friendly and this info will definitely help us next time we visit with Kramer :)

I have a doodle as well and appreciate the tips! How often do y'all get Kramer groomed while on the road?
@chrisandsara3 жыл бұрын
So fun, doodles are the best! It all depends on how hot it is. If it's summer, we'll get him shaved every 4-6 weeks to keep him cool. Past that we just do the self wash stations at dog stores whenever her gets dirty which can be anywhere from every few days to a month. lol

I want to bring my baby so bad, both for protection and companionship. But he is the most talkative dog I've ever met, always barking. I don't particularly mind it, but idk if that would make finding places to park more difficult. And also he's a runner, he takes off at every opportunity, so that's scary; I can't imagine living without him but idk. There's so much worry.

Hey guys! Great information. We travel with our 9pd Shihtzu Lulu, while traveling. Banfield Pet Vet Hospital is FANTASTIC!! Which also provides Pet Health Insurance. Approx $23- $35mo depending on chosen plan, covers alot. A HUGE help on vaccine due dates when traveling...all records are transferred...Banfield is located in almost every US State. This will make it easier when starting our VanLife Journey this summer. 🐶🐾

Hey Von! That's such a good tip! We had never considered going with a nationwide vet chain before but we may look into that. It would really make things easier for sure. Have you liked most of the different vets you've seen across the country so far?
@eightysixsquarefeet4 жыл бұрын
@@chrisandsara Yes...once we got over our initial concern of the Vet not being the same & seeing Lulu get the same level of great, knowledgeable service we're pleased. Which is super important that she's treated well by their community of veterinarians. Lulu's 14yo she's been going since 2011. At 7weeks & Up Before that we were with VCA vet hospital in Las Vegas, they too are U.S. wide...but had No offered Insurance Plans. *Pricey* but great Vet Hospital Community as well. Btw, Lulu has the Wellness plan for Seniors.🐶🐾 even covers teeth cleanings.

@@eightysixsquarefeet That's a huge peace of mind hearing from you. Thank you so much for sharing that! Like y'all we're always concerned about the vet care we receive and want the best for our little Kramer. The insurance place is certainly appealing, too.

hey, guys, I'm new to your channel but I loved this video! What vet in Chattanooga do you use I live in Rossville right here close to Chattanooga in Georgia and Im starting my van life adventure soon with my dog and might get a second do but I want to have a vet check-up before we get going and since you guys are familiar with the vet id like to check it out?
@chrisandsara4 жыл бұрын
Hi makayla! We go to Animal Clinic East on Gunbarrel Road. It came highly recommended by a friend who is a vet tech in town at another practice. They also have later hours which is nice just in case our dog is sick in the evening and don’t want to have to take him to the emergency vet. Hope this helps and good luck! ☺️

I've been running a very informal data gathering experiment. The average video on youtube has a 3% thumbs down rating after a few weeks (of course some have a higher % than that, but few have less if they've been up for a significant period of time). Even videos where the poor little puppy is rescued from the canal, and he was about to drown, and was almost starved, and he has the mange, and was shivering from fright and wouldn't let anyone touch him, and someone takes him in and he learns to be loved, and his mange is healed, and he gains 20 pounds, and his hair grows in and he looks like an adorable fluff ball like Kramer, .... even these videos have about a 3% thumbs down rating. What is the point? The point is that there is NO TOPIC, NONE, in all of KZbin, that there will not be a small selection of people who either like to stir up angst or LOVE to play hall monitor and tell you what all you have wrong. Let me say that again, THERE IS NO TOPIC for which those people will not appear; nothing you can say or show, no position you can take that there won't be AT LEAST ONE someone who needs to set you straight about it. Maybe knowing that will help you shrug your shoulders at the negative nancies. You CLEARLY have a dog for which this lifestyle really works. That's obvious from watching just one or two of your videos.
@cimmerian67135 жыл бұрын
Watching your videos has been a very interesting learning experience and I’ve been thinking about how life-changing it could be. Here’s my question: how do you address waste management? Since we don’t have that kind of living here, I’m very curious to know how you deal with the waste you generate on the road like grey water, toilet wastes, etc.
@Smitty_Tube5 жыл бұрын
Our two little dogs are fine when they're at home when we leave somewhere but that's not the case when we take them glamping. They'll howl and bark as soon as walk or drive away. It's so bad that we would get kicked out of the RV park if we let it continue. That means we have to take them with us everywhere we go, which definitely puts a damper on where we can go. We're heading to Yellowstone and Zion National Parks next week and will be gone for two weeks. Needless to say, a friend of ours will be house/dog sitting for us while we're gone.

One point I'd like to make is about dogs in public. Let me first say that I LOVE all animals and have had countless animals in my life, including dogs (including 2 standard poodles, and a toy poodle), but many of us ARE allergic. I got so sick from my dogs that I simply can't have them anymore which is such a curse because I always wanted to be a vet when I was a child. I've done the whole shots thing for years and it helps a tiny bit but you are still sick. But as an adult, I learned that being sick all the time is so bad for you. I went literally for 2 years without being able to breathe out of my left nostril and it gave me sinus infections. And if I am around any animal with fur or feathers (I've tried dogs, cats, mice, rats, finches, canaries, etc.), I get asthma as well as the whole runny, itchy nose eyes, etc. The asthma is a serious concern for many people and can be deadly so please be considerate of the health of other people. Please don't bring your dog inside buildings, especially if it's a small place. Sitting outside, like a cafe, is by far the best place to take your dog because the fresh air seems to prevent us from being affected unless we are very close to your dog. Nobody seems to think about us so I thought it was fair to mention that we matter as well. I love seeing dogs out and don't want to limit them but the truth is that there should be some limitations. And I absoloutely LOVE seeing dogs on these videos. Kramer is so funny. I love watching him "hunting" for squirrels. Thank you.
