I was told by a G.P years ago there was nothing that could be done about my tinnitus . I assumed that a perforated eardrum had caused it. That was 40 years ago and it still bothers me, at night particularly and affects sleep. This is interesting and more encouraging than most tinnitus videos. Thank you. 🙂

@@DG-ie5ip - None of my tinnitus started from loud noises. I am not exposed to any loud noises, concerts, or machinery. I had swimmers ear from swimming in the ocean a year ago and my ear developed scar tissue from it. Tried prescribed steroid drops for several weeks. Infection healed but the ear drum has scar tissue behind and on the ear drum. If I drive through an area with elevation change my ear starts to give me pain and strange sounds. Nausea too. Other times really high pitched ringing kicks in.

I have had tinnitus for many years, since 2008 vertigo attacks. My left ear sometimes have as many as 9 different sounds, from chains in a drum, crickets, blown speaker sounds ect. My left ear is dead according to my ENT. sound test last week. I have pulsating tinnitus in my right ear. Vertigo , vomiting, diarrhea lasting the longest 29 hours one month ago. Sometimes vertigo was 3 times a week. I have Meniere's disease, can a hearing aid cure me? Dr Carol Foster has helped with her discovery here on utube for vertigo. Stay away from salt, caffeine, start exercising, remove stress -- I feel bad for all who have strange tinnitus noises, be thankful for your condition, it could be worse. I am 68 and tinnitus started at 15. The older I get the more I realize life on earth is preparation for eternity. In your journey seek a relationship with God before you meet Him. He loves you dearly and Jesus is knocking on your door, He is seeking your attention.

After the completion of the sound therapy, do people normally stop using their hearing aids or sound machines altogether, or does their use need to be continued, just on a lower volume level? Also, after the sound therapy period, can you then again be in complete silence without hearing the tinnitus? Thanks in advance!

I would urge you to check out one more thing. I accidentally got into a location where the maps program on my cell phone stopped working. Silence. It is possible some of us are hearing the wavelengths cell towers are emitting. I am almost desperate enough to move to rural South Carolina USA. It is beautiful there just minimal shopping and no cell phone. Since I moved to this NC home I can 1) see the local cell tower which is 2) right next to a small airport (in the USA 5G overlaps wavelengths used for small planes landing in bad weather FAA messed up on allowing that). So that narrows down the culprits for which wavelength I might be affected by. It also explains why Tinnitus is a modern issue.

I had high tinnitus for years due to loud sound but playing mild sleeping natural sounds therapy (water stream) for whole night completely shut down tinnitus for many hours! I think the brain cells responsible for creating the sound are retrained to not produce the sound in stillness. I think that decrease in blood flow, like subclinical coronary desease, is the underlaying cause together with damage to the ear system.

He confirmed light hearing loss (20 db in both ears). He gave me urgent treatment based on corticosteroids (8 days) and vasodilator (1 month). He said that after such incident, it is maybe possible to recover some of the loss. And then maybe the tinnitus could lower or go away after months. Is it really possible ?
