Love these tutorials! They make me understand what I'm working on in a pose and how to practice to be more graceful. Please do more tutorials like this, warrior I, stack your hip in downdog, chair pose, etc ❤️

thank you for this video. I hope you can help me with my question here. I really want to get better at the balancing poses but I am overweight and find it difficult to stay in the pose long, as with other balancing poses. should I be using a chair to help balance or are there other exercises to help me strengthen the muscles necessary to do this well?

Can you do more tutorials on the basic poses and explain where you are supposed to feel the stretch or where it is helping to strengthen? I love this. I have been to many different studios and hardly any try to correct students or go into what the poses should be like. Thanks for this!

I agree it does get hectic in-studio classes when you aren't sure of how to do the pose exactly because the teachers are catering to so many different levels of students in each class. This is why I love online yoga too! :)

Yelena Crawford Yoga - exactly, for example, triangle pose. It is because of Kassandra saying that you don’t stick your butt out that I know that. In my class that I took, I saw many different “ways” of doing the pose. Most had their butt sticking out 😉💙🧘♀️💙

This was great, I don't think anyone has told me about actively pushing the standing leg inwards which absolutely straightens my hips and yes I felt the burn!! Can't wait to see more poses broken down.

I have been doing yoga for years and have never been able to keep my leg up on my thigh. So I added it to my vision board as a goal for 2025, and thought it would take me all year to accomplish. Then i just watched this video and did it instantly. Arms up, eyes closed! 😂 THANK YOU!

What I like to do is practice it laying down and I love bound angle pose! I find this helps keeps my hips forward. Thanks for the muscle engagement tips, I have poor balance on my right leg because of nerve damage after cuada equina but my left leg is much better. When I engage the muscles like you've taught, my right leg will improve. Thank you very much Kassandra 🧘♀️💜🧘♀️💜

Is tree pose possible for someone who is bowlegged? When I draw an imaginary line from the center of my thigh to the center of my ankle, it goes on the inside of my knee. So my center of gravity is on the inside of my knee. Result is my body weight pushes my knee out. That seems the same to me as you putting your foot on your knee. I always lose balance to the outside. My current thinking is that tree pose is dangerous to my knees and should be avoided.

my problem isn't the balance per se, it's getting my leg up above the knee and having it stay there. it slides down no matter what, the highest it will go is the knee joint.

Sometimes it's inevitable but usually the more you push your thigh against the foot and foot pushes back, the easier it is to keep it there!

Katerina Deas, I agree - it was a game changer when I did it with bare legs. That helped me to build confidence and strength in the pose and I now find I can do it in yoga pants. Though not the really slippery lycra fabrics!

My foot always slips down and I cant even align my thighs to look like it leans downwards :( I am so sad. Is it possible my thighs are.. too short for this pose? Cant fold my lower leg unless my thigh is parallel to the floor and then the slip happens.

You should show it first with out a talk .Then show it with a talk.It's confusing because your execution with a talk not continues so the watcher can't recognize which one is right or wrong.
