Putting 8 .22 bullets into a close target in less than a second sounds like a great defense weapon, not too different from a buckshot cartridge. At least from 3 feet away, that is.

@@claytonmccoy8849 True, but when has a home invader worn body armor?
@TheOriginalFaxon2 жыл бұрын
Seriously if you only need to stop one target, this would be devastating amounts of quick firepower on target. .22LR is not a very powerful cartridge, but if you load up the hottest .22 you can get and cycle safely, this would obliterate whatever you ultimately mag dump into. It would be like getting hit by a 20 gauge full of smaller buckshot but with a continuous impact that lasts half a second. This may not sound like a lot for those who have shot a .22 before, but it'd absolutely be lethal on a human torso with A and C zone hits. Too bad it's illegal to make new ones, I'd buy one just to have as a fun range toy. Who knows, maybe with a little tinkering someone can rig up a bigger magazine for one xD. IDK maybe I'm biased, I'm imagining this thing modded into something akin to a pistol sized American 180 with lower magazine capacity. If nothing else, the original version would make a great backup concealed carry gun

Actually the Trejo company still exists, they manufacture coffee roasters and some other coffee related machinery, which was a smart move since most of its neighboring towns are important coffee producers in the region. They still produce the pistols as more of a side business and they’re sold with the proper permits. I know cause I went to the factory and shot the model 2gt, it was my first time holding and shooting a gun so it was pretty cool

Special care must be taken when loading rimfire mags, whether for semi or full auto. You have to position each round carefully so that its rim is in front of that of the cartridge below it, or you're virtually guaranteed to end up with a feed failure. I speak from experience, because we had both a Savage Model 64 (a great plinking/small game rifle) and a 1911-based, Spanish made .22 semi-auto pistol when I was a young man.

For anyone who doesn't know, Mexico got its current set of extremely strict gun laws after a massacre. By whom? Mexican government. The government was afraid of armed protesters _(annoying habit of shooting back)_ , so it closed nearly every gun shop in the country. Mexico's constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, by the way.
@1peres026 жыл бұрын
I do believe that here in Brazil there was a legit belief (at least by some groups, definetely not everyone) that resctricting gun access would decrease violence... The result? It's as hard as it can get to legally own a gun, and pretty easy to get your hands on an unregistered one...
@dreamingflurry27296 жыл бұрын
Constitutions aren't worth the paper they are written on! Look at the world! Constitutions might have been great once (and even back then governments did violate them left and right as long as they thought they could get away with it - hell, it's even shown on TV, like when a cop or secret agent lockpicks a door and searches a building without a warrant (and normally the TV-Audience is all for it because of course the cop/agent is hunting the bad guys and they need to be stopped at all costs, the law be damned!)), but now? No! Patriot Act (or as I call it: The Unpatriotic Act of "Toss out the worthless constitution, nobody needs rights! The only people who want privacy have something to hide!"), gun control ("...the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed..." - And if they argue that that is for "a well regulated militia" only: It's not like there are militias anymore (there should be and they should have access to all the weapons the military has - ok, maybe not nukes, but everything else! Because as it is: The checks and balances don't work! The people couldn't fight back (at least not for long) if there was a tyranny - normal bullets don't hurt tanks anymore and neither do they bring down jets and attack helicopters and drones!)), laws against free speech like all those hate-speech laws etc. etc. :( Frankly I sometimes truly believe the west is more unfree now than people in the Soviet Union were (NO: I don't want communism or a dictator! I want true freedom to return - this excuse that it is all "to fight terrorism" doesn't fly! Especially since terrorism and islam wins if we destroy "paradise" (well, at least better than islamic countries!) to save it!) ps: I hate gun-laws with a passion because they really only lead to criminals being armed (hell, even an idiot can buy a gun via the dark-web - like the guy that shot people in a McDonald's in Munich, which has lead to people talking about more gun control...WHY? DAMEND; THAT WAS NOT A LEGAL GUN YOU MORONS!)
@planescaped6 жыл бұрын
Gun control would never ever work in America simply because, by this point, there's just too many guns. They'd have to both ban all guns, as well as basically confiscate all current legal guns and destroy them... Which is a pretty shit solution. Just banning guns, which is the solution dumbasses present, would solve literally nothing.

Military .22? In summation, the Gevarm .22 Automatique Carbine can be employed as an effective close-quarter defensive arm that is easy to control, maintain and economical to shoot. The only thing that needs Right: . Beautifully machined onepiece aluminum trigger housing with fully assembled trigger lockwork. The massive sear is visible on the top of the housing. A single large hex screw mates the housing to the bottom of the steel receiver shown between the gun’s top and bottom assembly. improvement is the safety system employed. The cocking handle should also have the provision to lock the bolt in a closed position to prevent an accidental discharge in the event that the cocking handle is jarred so that the bolt is pulled to the rear just enough to clear the magazine to pick up a round and fire the gun. The importer of the arm indicated that Gevelot may have the intention of developing and marketing a specialized .22 submachine gun complete with suppressors for SOG in the French military and possibly for the international market back in the 1960s. The experimental gun proved quite successful in this brief testing. There is no doubt that the Gevarm .22 carbine can outperform any other weapons in its class even when subjected to a more elaborate testing due to its simplicity of design and unique chamber feeding system. With the addition of a 200-round drum magazine, a true compact SMG configuration utilizing a simple but rigid folding stock and an effective suppressor, Gevelot would have created the finest rimfire SMG in its class that can easily match or even surpass the formidable AM-180. While these French made “open bolt” rimfire automatics have long been out of production, they represented a special breed of firearms unique by today’s standards. The Gevarm .22s are indeed the simplest and perhaps the most reliable autoloaders in their class.

Of course, the stopping power of a .22 is minimal, so the thing was that at point blank defensive shooting you could land at least six bullets in the chest of the assailant. That would compensate the "mouse calibre" of the gun. For any other purpose, you would select the semi auto option and use it for target practice or what not. My grandfather had one of those and the meager kick of the .22 made it very controlable at full auto. I remember some shooting contests among my cousins back in the day using that gun. Nowaday's, I really don't know what happened to it. It must have gone to one of my cousins. But since it is illegat now to even have it, even in a drawer, unless you are in the military or police I can't even ask who got it in the end. Nice menmories! I got a pair of XIXth century revolvers and a Browning FN 1900 when grandpa died (his collection was distributed among his grand children).

The way you giggle after shooting this thing, combined with the hat and specs you're wearing makes for the most creepy FW experience to date.

I could see the theory behind a weapon like this being that you could just squeeze the trigger at close range and instantly empty a magazine into someone. I don't know how practical that would be, but I could see it as a selling point.
@That70sGuitarist Жыл бұрын
While many people tend to look down on .22 LR as a defensive round, at point blank range it penetrates better than the mighty .45 ACP. Think about eight rounds of hollow-point .22 LR hitting centre mass; some will almost certainly be deflected by the ribs, but others are bound to tear up the heart and lungs something fierce. That's pretty much "game over," right there. Even worse, imagine what would happen to someone who caught all eight rounds square in the face. .22LR can easily punch through the skull on the way in, but loses so much energy doing so that it can no longer punch through the other side of the skull. Instead, it just keeps bouncing around until it finally comes to rest. The end result? Voila, thoroughly scrambled brains! This could be a great "last ditch" defensive weapon. You're facing a home invasion, and you've already emptied your primary weapon, but there's still one bad guy left; point this little monster right between his eyes, squeeze the trigger, and " hey presto," no more bad guys. So maybe it's not an ideal main carry weapon, but "up close and personal," it could be a Hell of a good backup.

I'm afraid I can't oblige there, my friend. My family and I got rid of all our firearms back in the 90s, because we saw where Canadian firearms laws were going and wanted no part of it. I'm still legally eligible for a PAL, but I haven't bothered getting one since because I can't afford the required two safes. (One for the actual firearms, the other for ammunition, mags and firing pins and/or bolts/breech blocks.) Yeah, pretty ridiculous, isn't it?🤣

@@That70sGuitarist aww man really? Wow I never knew that about Canada it’s surprising, for some reason I had this other image of Canada in my head. I can’t own cause I tried offing myself back in 2016 and they sent me to a mental institution, now I always get rejected when they do the background check. I mean I see where they are coming from but Ive changed and would like to own one. I guess all ee can do it just dream about shooting right bro 😎 lol

Extended magazine or rechamber it in 5.7mm? Ammo selection seems like a bad way to go for a handgun tbh, that's a lot of extra bulk for what could be accomplished with a mag swap and slide rack.

I keep hearing you tell about "Transferable machine guns" and "non transferable machineguns" Ian, what does that mean, i am a ignorant Dutchman and don't know what you're talking about.
@BurningMonkey7 жыл бұрын
Pitt Brad transferable means just what it implies. That the machine gun is legally transferable from one legal owner to another. I have a transferable NFA firearm and I can sell it to anyone that can legally own such a weapon. Non-transferable would be a machine gun that was made recently for military use only, and you wouldn't be able to transfer that at all to anyone. Make sense?
@ProbInsane7 жыл бұрын
If a machine gun is transferable then you can sell it/ give it to someone, basically its like any other gun and its like that because you have the proper papers for it. if a machinegun is not transferable that means only you can own it and after you die you can leave it to somebody in your will and thats the only way someone else can legally own it.

@curious-relics7 жыл бұрын
It relates to US firearms law regarding what machine guns a civilian can legally possess. Transferable machine guns are ones that were registered prior to May 1986. These can be owned by anyone. Non transferable guns are ones registered after May 1986 - only military, police, or special gun dealers/manufacturers can own these.
