Pyrion's pronunciation of 'Lachlan' is hilarious

As a 'Sheffer' i can't totally argue with Pyrion's take but it has definitely improved ever so slightly in the last 10 years, don't come and verify that in person though
@TheCyanTree2 жыл бұрын
Sheffer seems to be moving towards a more 'trendy' direction with areas like kelham island and eccy road. I think the whole Sheffield A/Sheffield B divide is really interesting and really highlights how the prior industrial areas are very deprived and the areas that never really had industrial buildings have much higher levels of wealth and living standards.

As someone from the northeast, I’d agree with pyrion talking about Middlesbrough and Sunderland. Also some places in Gateshead (my hometown) are definitely more run down (mostly directly opposite the city and quayside)

As someone from near Middlesbrough I really appreciate the way Pyrion talked about the impact on Northern and particularly North Eastern industries in a compassionate and intelligent way instead of just being like “they’re massive shitholes lol”. (Not saying I expected him to do this but a lot of people would). I think quite often people from the south don’t fully comprehend how privileged the south really is, obviously there are working class areas but it really is incomparable to the levels of austerity and neglect in the north east and the north in general. So it was refreshing for him to acknowledge this in a respectful and educational way. ❤️

Sips getting annoyed at 25 year old's calling themselves old is rich. He goes on to say that he is old in the exact same way, and he's only 40. Somebody who is 55 will say the same thing and get annoyed at Sips for thinking he's old, and then somebody 70 will do the same. Can we not just appreciate that the feeling of hitting new mile stones and musing about it with friends similar to your age is a very human thing to do, and not just make fun of them for it?

Hey Sheffield is nowhere near a shit hole it has definitely changed in 10 years. The city centre is much smaller than comparatively populated cities meaning it could appear worse off at a glance. An example is the infamous park hill flats which were disgusting but in the past decade have been renovated into an urban friendly residence close to the city centre which has a great choice if public transportation. The industrial economy of Sheffield has died which is a natural reaction to automation and outsourcing but in its place we have multiple excellent universities drawing in international students benefiting our local economy and some of the best hospitals in the area especially NICU.
@georgehh25742 жыл бұрын
I was gonna say, I feel like Sheffield is a big university city, which helps increase the amount of specialist jobs. Sheffield was my first choice for university (mech. eng.), but was long way off grades (was a long shot). Automation has a smaller impact in terms of job loss than you think, just that different skills are required.

I constantly work in 38 degrees envoirnment infront of dozens if not hundreds of people that pass me by as I try to complete a job. While I'm working I'm constantly changing positions to hold onto what I'm working on. I don't have the luxury to stand up and pull my pants up

I can get not liking being taught Shakespeare. When poorly taught, it can be an utterly awful experience. With an enthusiastic and quality teacher, and coupled with seeing an actual play though, it's great.

In my school they'd show movies and class readings of Macbeth and it took months until we observed the meaning of the Shakespearian words that we finally understood. You can't expect 30 people reading words they don't recognise to understand a narrative. Once I could read it I enjoyed Macbeth but that really should be step 1 of literature: language.

Lol at slapping a 2009 like it's an old car. That makes me feel you did not grow up in any form of poor school. My car is literally probably older than the average triforce listener!! (My car is a 1998) and I still wouldn't consider it old enough to qualify for this!
