If you want a very crispy and crunchy saheena then use all split peas powder to make the paste.Trust me you will enjoy it.
If you do not have access to grind dhal simply soak 2 cups split peas and 1 cup channa/garbanzo beans over night then blend with 2 cups of water or more to create a smooth paste.
1 bundle of dasheen leaves or taro leaves
3 cups dhal flour or split peas flour
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 cup green seasoning
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp geera / roasted cumin powder
1 cup flour-optional
1 cup blended fresh channa - optional
2 tsp salt or to taste
juice of half lime
4 cups water
