Hello Natasha, thank you so much for this coconut drops recipe, I had unsweetened shredded coconut and that worked well, however, I added raisins to mine. DELICIOUS!!! Thanks Yvonne.

if you can't get sweetened coconut. Can I grate a coconut, if yes do I add more sugar?

People genuinely want to come and learn something and they make it difficult......just make it like a cake but more more flour and add coconut

Thanks for the recipes...good ones...too much sugar...?any alternatives ?yes....if you sweetened coconut then add one cup of organic sugar...then for the sugar syrup add have the amt ...and drizzle the syrup ...might help. Or use agave nectar as the syrup for drizzling....

I think it's because I only used 1 cup of sugar and added 1 cup of raisins but it was delicious, I always use your recipes

You do know everyone has their own version of similar foods made different. Please have an open mind when it comes to other countries and their cultures.

@@TriniCookingwithNatasha that i do know but that thing is either a 'cake' or a 'bake' because its made with flour in an oven. 'Drops' are sugar based products that are primarily cooked

@@datofficial6062 As I said every country makes their own version of an item or they may have an item of a similar name. That's why its called Trini and the item name. As I said have an open mind as nothing is cast in stone and recipes are supposed to evolve as man has.

@@TriniCookingwithNatasha it has nothing to do with having an 'open mind' and everything to do with logical semantics, which are the presuppositions and implications of words... 'Cakes' are baked, 'drops' are cooked. That my darling, is a coconut rock cake. Nevertheless, i like the recipe, its possible better than original jamaican coconut rock cakes... thats coming from a jamaican
