Maam there are different schools of thought regarding the ratio of these 3 dry fruits... some suggests that it should be in the ratio of 1:2:3 and other says it should be in the ratio of 1:1:1. Both type of triphala are available in market. Kindly elucidate.

Hi there! I agree that there are different variations in the proportion of ingredients in triphala. The classics suggest Amalaki: Bibhitaki: Haritaki in the ratio of 1:1:2. More common and safe proportion is 1:1:1 and 1:1:2. Proportions can be manipulated as per the clinical requirement, strength of the person, doshic imbalance, Agni, age etc and is done under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician after proper analysis including prakriti and vikruti analysis.
