TRIUMPH TIGER 1050 SPORT OR BMW S1000XR

An introduction to my new Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport, there were not many reviews on the 1050 tiger when I was looking, so I thought I would add this one. I sold my BMW S1000XR 2 months earlier, I bought the tiger based on purchase cost, servicing / maintenance cost and warranty cover ( especially abroad) I think I sold my BMW and bought the Triumph both at the right time, sold in the summer and bought in the dead of winter..

Congrats on a beautiful new bike mate. I bought a 2018 Tiger Sport (Matt Black) brand new and still have it as my main commuter and tourer. I can't find any bike that makes me want to change. Best bit for me: the 1050 triple. Looking forward to seeing more videos as you get to know your new machine. Enjoy!

Nice vid I'm about to buy this model in replacement for my Scrambler 1200 which is a nice bike but no longer for me. I had the previous Tiger 1050 2011 model and loved it,so I'm having this one to keep my Ninja company. I'm very fortunate to have two bikes and would be very interested to see all that you do with your new Tiger sport

It’s a great looking bike, I’m honestly tempted to buy one new. I’ve seen a great deal on one local to me....so hard to make that jump when I’m also trying to pay down my mortgage. I guess it’s just a life style choice. Cheers for the review.

well........... I'm just the boy to help you decide, there's good debt and bad debt... good debt is when you get joy from it, bed debt is misery, there's only good feelings on this bike, this is the last of them... a whole lot of bike for the money, I think they may hold there price for a good bit.. thanks for comments, more Covid Free updates to follow..

I've bought a 2020 model with 3000miles on and found the right hand mirror vibrates more than the left and also the right hand bar more than the left..weird!!!!

@@davejohnson9499 Got the dealer to check out the vibration on the bike. They sorted most of it (somehow) but the mirrors still vibrate.

Hi , thanks for the comments, the triumph was good in every department except for 2 up riding when you needed to manually adjust the rear suspension , the power delivery was brilliant, it just ooooses power, the brakes were good and the handling one or 2 up was good .. I did change the tyres to mich 5s and made a massive improvement, although the 4s were ok..no passenger complaints and overall satisfaction is tight up there…… However I’m back into an XR1000 … new video to follow .. good luck

Cheaper and cheaper to service , mates got a BM 1000r the service is eye watering £ , cost him a grand and that includes the mot , which they forgot lol , when he checked he couldn't believe it , they just fucked him off and he had to get it done himself ,

Hi, yea the X-r was amazing but that much power can’t be used all the time… I always felt I was the hunter however the triumph delivers what’s needed and in the sport mode the feeling is similar to the X-r in road mode.. a win win I think… the price also played a major factor in change as well as not being able to do the continent .. take care

Do you find the Tiger Sport more confortable than the S 1000XR?

hi Armando, both are equally comfortable, I came from a 2012 tiger onto the 2016 XR and back onto a 2020 tiger, however, my short legs are more suited to the tiger, on the XR I was really on my tip toes although I managed almost 14000 miles on it.. otherwise seating and comfort are on a par.... all the best

Tiger all the way....BMW "quality" is an illusion, they're not as good as everyone thinks & the prices are 10-20% above what they're actually worth. The Triumph is smoother & just a better bike overall.

The XR is a much better bike in terms of capabilities and overall greatness. The Triumph Tiger 1050 is an angry mouse by comparison. Have owned both bikes.
