Thanks for your great tips. Toilet and the low couch instructions are excellent and both are a problem for seniors.

I had the same problem 15 minutes ago, coincidence! My legs are getting weaker and weaker because of the severe knee pain. This time i found I could not get up from the kitchen chair! I was panicking. But I moved my rollator to the front of me and used the rocking motion and the solid braked rollator to throw myself on to the rollator, chest first. I previously had the toliet problem, it's too low for me; now I put my walker in front of me in order to hang on to it so I can lower and rise from the toliet. But your instructions are very helpful. Thank you. Many of us are admiring your big muscles!

I used his technique to navigate my stairs going down & it works because of the physics of using gravity.

Its very good you have options, sometimes in life we are unabke to things the ""best"away. Would getting out of bed with back or rib pain be done in the same way? i am having a very difficult time with the pain in my trunk, right now.

Thank you Dr. Dave! Helpful advice. Though I have been strengthening my glutes with shallow squats and sit-to-stands, I am going to check out the horse stance video.

I’ll try it. I may have a somersault in my future.😅 I usually use my arms to push myself high enough to use my leg strength

It's a common fear, but I've never seen it actually happen.

😂 I do the same arm technique.

Hi, off the subject, love the couch, the color and material. Can you tell me where you purchased it? thank you

It's probably 14-15 years old now, so I can't remember for sure, and they may not carry it anymore. It's microfiber though.

If I get into this position on 2:25 I'll never get out without help. Or by a hard fall. Luckily I won't be able to get into it

Very many thanks indeed Dr Candy, a brilliant video demonstrating how it can be done which I thought was out of the question for me due to my knees! Watching you go through it all seems to show we all ought to be able to do each relatively easy. Getting up from the toilet is relatively easy. 🤔 So I’d best give that a dummy run to see what the difference is with the couch, apart from it being soft…?! 😮 I’ll be back to tell you….if I’m able to manage it and not end up doing a somersault like @lesliefle Very much appreciated.
