The problem with the removal and installation of the axle is the inner seal will tear and there will be an inevitable gear oil leak coming out of that axle tube after a few miles driving down the road. It’s happened several times to me even trying to keep the axle perfectly level while trying to remove and installing it.

This is for a 99-02. 98-92? Has the rotor and bearing pressed together or at least pressed together with the studs. And the rotor sits between the bearing and hub. And the caliper is directly bolted to the hub with Allen bolts not 16mm hex’s. But still I love this channel. It seems everything I’ve needed to work on is on this channel. And I got your wheel bearings too.

Pro tip: There is no need to remove the axle nut. You can remove and reinstall the hub/bearing and axle shaft as an assembly. The only time you need to remove the axle nut on these trucks is if you're replacing the unit bearing or the stub shaft.

I just watched this because I had my upper and lower ball joints replaced by a shop and now the passenger side axle seal is leaking!Have to take it back tomorrow.Wanted to see if the axle shaft needs to be removed.Other than that I would have cleaned the parts better.

Only issue i saw was that you should have cleaned up the bearing area on the knuckle BEFORE you put the axle in
