I have always had real issues with tree pose - my nemesis lol - So anyway, on an impulse I decided to use this practice to toast to my marriage, we've been together for quite a long time and sometimes it's been tough but we love each other a lot even through the repetition of everyday married life is often boring for me. Then in tree pose A says "find that marriage of two opposing forces coming together" whoa! say whaaat? my tree took root and flourished upwards like never before hallelujah! Hahaha and on both sides too. I got a real insight today - thanks Adriene xx

Yes Adriene yes! This series brings me SO much joy! I have never flown through a vinyasa/sun salutation with such ease and rocked so many planks in one practice! Seriously, directional breath from day 4 is, just like you said, totally changing the game for me. I love how you say "catch a wave" because it reminds me of the first time I went boogy boarding a couple years ago and it was one of the funnest experiences of my life. I also love how you call (potentially tricky) moments "experiments" because it totally takes any pressure away. Knowing that I don't have to "get it right" and that with continued practice, I will just get better and better, makes it all so much easier and more fun. SALUD to you and everyone on this beautiful, sensational, priceless journey of coming home to our true nature and finding what feels good. Toasting to my inner being & my health! Namaste!

I'm having trouble stepping up from downward dog and plank. Do you have any tips for learning how to do this? Thanks! Finished the 1st 30 days last week, and started the True series a week ago. Prior to that, I was doing yoga on my own for the past year with various videos. Yours are my favorite!
@lenkaubauba12214 жыл бұрын
@@donnaharrison8963 maybe try to push more from the mat and engage your belly (and everything there) more. It is really tricky to keep your knee so high. But who cares if you step to your foot, the most important thing it that you enjoy the process :D
@donnaharrison89634 жыл бұрын
@@lenkaubauba1221 thank you for the encouragement! It's weird - I didn't have any problem with this way back when I started doing yoga, but in the past few years, when I get to the the point of shifting forward, and I'm kind of in the "knee to nose" shape, it's like my knee is locked or something. It happens on both sides, and I don't have any problems with my knees, so I don't get it. I'm still practicing yoga every day, though, and I don't worry about not being able to do this part. I just do my best. :)

Toasting my son and his fight with colon cancer. Lots of love and positive vibes. And on a yoga note, I could suddenly step up to the top of the mat! I usually manage to shuffle a few baby steps. The repetition led to a smooth flow of movement. Wowzer!

I say salud to you, Adriene! I am so grateful for all the practices you share with us. In this practice I stayed balanced in my tree pose with my eyes closed for a few moments. On Saturday I did it inside a cold, tiny, mountain river. I just love the pose! I love practicing it with my eyes closed because it's very difficult and I usually fall a lot, but I am improving everyday. One day I'll be able to stay balanced for a long time with closed or opened eyes :)

But since I've been practicing yoga with you I've slowly been seeing my strength grow, my leg/knee is gaining strength and my body told me it was ready to try it this morning. In corps pose I was just full of gratefulness.

241st Day of daily yoga, just did my full first plow pose and held it for a while 😍 A lil throwback to my first days of yoga and YWA, couldnt even do a knee push up- I just flop down, couldnt hold a balancing table for a sec, a side plank on knee is even a challenge. Last December was able to start doing full chaturangas, could lift my leg while on full side plank, have (very briefly) flew on crow and now plow... While still being overweight. Ive let my weight get the better of me before and let it stop me from going after so many great opportunities, but no more! The difference in my strength, confidence and trust (in myself and the Universe❤) has been immense. I love yoga so much because the progress is evident. It shows me that we can do anything as long as we believe, give our time, energy and dedication, and get up our ass and do the work! Just think of the possibilities what else we can achieve in life. Let go of the old BS thinking. Practice makes Progress! Mindset is everything! Get Up and Show Up! Thanks for introducing me to the love of my life Adriene.

Thank you for saying that it's okay if it takes longer than a month to complete this. I've been unable to do yoga for a couple weeks due to injuries and workload, and I felt guilty about missing so much time from my mat. What's different with this is that in any other workout I would've never come back and would've berated myself for days for "failing", but you help me feel like this is for me and if I make time, I make time. It isn't all or nothing. So thank you Adriene, and here's to day 7, a couple weeks late 😂

Today I toasted to my body and self love. I've always struggled with my body image, being told I'm too thin or too fat and believing people. I've been so caught up in the number on the scales that I haven't been looking after my body. Half way through this practice I felt light headed because I haven't been eating enough as I've been dieting, trying to lose weight. I had a realisation on the mat that I need to nourish my body, with good, yummy, healthy food in order for me to continue my practice and dance which I love to do. I am toasting to the amazing body that I have right now and to loving it without wanting to change it. I am toasting to nourishing it with good foods and to treating it with respect. It's the only home I will always have 💕 Thank you Adriene for helping me remember who I truly am ❤

Woohoo, one week down! I usually get really frustrated trying to find yoga videos that I can actually do because I have very little arm strength and I find trying to do downward facing dog really painful on my elbows, but I like how you encourage people to do what feels right for their body so I've just been doing plank or half plank whenever you do downward facing dog, which hopefully is still helping me gain some arm strength! Maybe by the end of the 30 days I'll be strong enough to do downward facing dog :) I'm just glad that you are so encouraging that I have not gotten frustrated and given up because of that!

Besides being just a wonderful, affirming practice, it’s the first time I’ve come back and done the same video so close together and so deliberately. When Ariene said "seeking insight within repetition, freedome with form." I had to pause the video and write it down. So good. Like Zen Mind, Beginners Mind good. Thank you Adriene. I really enjoy the lessons and tips.

I loved this flow. Loved the idea of playing a little within the structure of the flow. When Adriene said lift the corners of your mouth a hair I couldn't help but do a full on grin. X

Today was another emotional day for me in my personal life, but I came on the mat and I felt strong! It felt good to do all of these poses today. I felt like I was flying through them confidently and really feeling them out. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I am toasting to getting to know the true me. I was feeling so achey today when I got to my mat, tired achey legs, and achey hips (not sure why?) - I was hopefully for a restorative yoga and then read sun salutations and groaned. But of course I was wrong. That was great. As always. Although I did realise I barely looked at the screen at all the whole practice!

Today I gave my salute to friendship. An old friend is flying out to visit me and this practice was a great way for me to celebrate and prepare for this occasion. Salute, Adriene!

Ooh this was so hard in the beginning. My wrists are so sore I thought "so this is it, do I stop here?" And I felt so sad. But I continued, the breathing helped me so much it kind of relaxed my wrists a little and then I felt my body going into its own flow. And I enjoyed that self-hug so much ... Thought I wouldn't make it but in its own pace and limits my body found ways to create some space where it hurt so much. Oh, these sessions get me so emotional ... Thank you for today's practice Adriene and namaste to everyone :-)
