How did that turn out? I will say, this is only a good option for this if you, don’t mind the eyesore, or if you have a closet to store it in. Folded up, it’s still the size of a piece of small furniture and heavy enough to damage almost any wall material if leaned against it.

Great vid! As I am getting my first DD wheel, I am on the lookout for a sturdy way to mount my very first DD wheel. Funny thing, I have been looking for the CLS DD, but I have been reading around and the Moza R5 has really been sturring in my mind, since I read about it. Seems to be a good entry level choice and with the stand you review, could be a very good combo. I can't wait to experience my first DD wheel. I know it'll take some time to get used to, but, if my driving is improved after changing to a DD wheel, I am a happy driver.

Nice review and great timing. I'm looking to get back into sim racing with the CSL DD bundle but I need a wheel stand as I'm going to be using my regular PC gaming set up, this seems like the best option. Will be picking it up during the black friday sales.

I have my WS 2.0 braced up against the rock solid bottom of a TV stand with a solid wood spacer and there is no movement. What I mean is lets say your table in the video is a solid piece of furniture and the front came straight down like a clothes dresser for instance. I have a solid wood spacer so I am the distance I most like and the front of the wheel stand is braced against it. It's not free standing anymore it is the same as if it was up against a wall. Eliminates virtually all movement. The key is to stop all forward movement under braking.

Put carpet sliders under the four legs after done racing you can slide the whole unit with one hand. Simply remove them when playing. Free advice no charge....:)

Great video and review. I'm getting into I racing soon and trying to learn some things. Do you think this setup folded would fit under a bed my frame is 18 inches high?

just the stand itself certainly would. It's going to be tight with a wheelbase on it but of course that's dependent on which one you go with. Also keep in mind it's not the most convenient wheelstand to fold up. It's a trade off for the stability. Some wheelstands fold up easier but aren't as robust. The few times I did fold this up I found it easier to just lean it against the wall in a corner of the room. Once it's loaded up with a wheelbase, pedals, etc., it gets pretty heavy and cumbersome to move around.

Great video. Question: I just started sim racing and bought a used G29 a week ago and I can already tell a DD is in my future, but I don’t know what type yet. Probably not buying one for a few months. I really need a wheel stand now though. I’m torn between this one and the Next Level racing DD which is the same price but more heavy duty. It does not fold or have the wheel tray. I think I can do without the wheel tray though as I already have the bell feet on my chair as I have hardwood floor and a small dog. I do like the idea of folding though, but not necessarily a deal breaker. And I have NO idea what DD I’m going to get, but likely it will NOT be top of the line, high newton meters. My concern is NOT having to buy another wheel stand again. I essentially want to be future proof. So should I get the 2.0 or the DD? Thanks in advance.

My country does not sell the gt seat add on for this, what seats could you add to it? They do sell es1 es2 and some other seats but I don’t know if they would fit the stand?

I can't find them in stock in the states either unfortunately so I think it will have to be used with a gaming chair (the type on wheels like used in this video). Any of those should be fully compatible but aren't going to be as sturdy as the GT add on would be.

What is the link to the chair your using ? I am looking to attach the handbrake to the shifter what are your thoughts ? Also, I am order CSL DD does that accept QR1 Wheels ? Trying to understand the QR thing and what is necessary ?

No CSL DD still comes with standard QR1. QR2 is not necessary. I installed that on mine but it came with QR1. The seat that I am using is an AKRacing seat purchased from Best Buy. It was expensive and in my opinion not worth the price I paid for it which is why I can't recomend it at the current price. It's not a bad seat it just doesn't live up to the price. Any standard gaming style office chair will work with this wheel stand. Hope that helps!

Well I can't say 100% about the classic stand but I did have the GT Omega Apex wheel stand and this is much more robust and sturdy than that. If I remember correctly the Apex was more sturdy than the Classic so I would guess this one would be much better than that.

I combine simracing with all type of videogames 50-50. I can only have 1 space for everything. Nowadays I have a WheelStand Pro V2 but I am thinking of upgrading to this one. I am also considering NLR GT Track, but I will be playing all type of games in a full cockpit and I don’t know if that will be a great idea… I mean, playing games like FIFA, COD, The Last Of us in a full simracing cockpit… Thanks in advanced

Can someone please tell me how to secure my DD wheel to the wheel stand? I dont see any screwholes or anything on the bottom of my DD base, and none of these videos show me how to actually mount it. It looks like its just sitting up top but surely something is fastening it down. I have the same DD wheel that Dan has here.

Hey bud. If you bought your wheelbase new it should have come with a few T Slot nuts. They are like a little metal thing with a spring ball on one side and a 6 or 8mm screw hole going through it. 4 of those slide into the channels on the bottom of the wheelbase. Make sure you pick channels that line up with holes in the wheelstand. Then you screw the M6 or M8 bolts (can't remember which one off hand) into the t nuts through the wheeldeck and that tightens everything down. If you don't have any you can order them off amazon. They are pretty cheap. Just make sure you get t nuts with the same size bolts you are using. Hope that helps! If you still need help let me know!

Yes it should! This wheel stand 2.0 is actually the newer of the two and is designed with direct drive in mind as well. If I recall the G Pro racing wheel is around 11 Nm and that's right about the cap of what the Wheel Stand 2.0 can handle.

How you mounted base to NLR 2.0? In my case bolts are moving with base in the holes after 30mins ;/

are you using t slot nuts in the base? First slide T slot nuts into the groove in the bottom of the wheelbase. Then run the bolts theough the wheel deck and into the t slots. That cinches everything down tight. The t nuts are the same type you use in aluminum profile. If you need me to make a quick video of how I mount it let me know!

The CSL DD desk clamp is absolute ass. Also, I know you mentioned its a bit of a pain to fold up, but I'm curious to know if you can tell me how tall it is folded up with the CSL DD attached? I am strapped for space but doin' everything I can to get my sim racing fix, I'd appreciate it.

I would hate deter you from buying this stand because the stand itself is fantastic. But I don't think it's going to be the best solution for heavy handbrake use.

@@DanDiMaggioGood review, but kinda dont like the fact that you say the shifter mount isnt good without even trying it. As for this one, i've seen many reviews saying its surprisingly stiff and durable. So for me its a shame you put it in the same category as the rest because you've "tried others". Not saying it's perfect, it has its flaws for sure. But i cant see it being better than it is. and its okay enough for a handbrake with excessive use. Think the shifter might break before the mount gives away. Kinda just a pet peeve for me, but doing reviews i wanna hear facts about this specific product. If you havent tried something i would rather it not be commented on. Or try it, if you're intending of reviewing the stand.

I have this and I really wish they gave more options to convert to a full rig like universal rails for bringing your own seat. The gt racing chair upgrade for it is just not worth the price imo

I have a playseat challenge with CSL DD 8nm and thinking of upgrading to this. Have you tried Playseat challenge and how do they compare? Valid upgrade? I feel like both the LC pedals and 8nm base wobbles quite a bit in my challenge. Challenge is also quite uncomfortable compared to my Aeron chair for longer sessions.

I did try a playseat challenge and I did not use it long. I did not like it at all. Very uncomfortable for me. This will be a significant upgrade from that as far as sturdiness is concerned. Just keep in mind you will need to also purchase a chair if you don't already have one. I'd recommend making the swap sooner than later.

It depends. If you have a stronger/heavier wheelbase youll want to go with the wheelstand as it'm much more rigid than the GT Lite Pro. But the downside is you'll have to get an office chair if you dont already have a good one. I've tried the GT Lite Pro and ended up sending it back because it was very uncomfortable to sit in for more that about 15-20 minutes and the wheelbase flops all over the place. But of you want the "all in one" type cockpit you'll have to go with the Lite Pro.

@@mtsferreirasilva I actually reviewed the apex as well several years ago. This one is significantly better in almost every aspect. The only thing the apex was better in was the ease of folding it up. It was slightly easier. If you're not too worried about that then go with this one for sure. It's a lot more robust and stable!

yes I know you can (actually could) but it has been quite some time since it's been in stock anywhere to actually purchase one. I reached out to NLR to see if they were manufacturing it anymore and got no response. This is also why I didn't mention it in the video. Don't want to recommend anything that potentially is no longer manufactured and/or available.

I don't think your bodyweight stabilizes the stand at all. You're not firmly connected to the stand and the weakness of the stand isn't at the base on the bottom but at the adjustment points. Also, while the stand is reasonably stiff, I can confirm the shifter arm is wobbly and I don't even have a load cell handbrake, just a Thrustmaster TH8 shifter. But for my space constraints and the price, this is the best.

Dude i have this stand and the bolts are heavy duty, if you were able to strip some big size BTR bolts like those then you were probably just not using the right size of hex key ^^ Btw you mounted the wheel tray completely wrong xD the tray is backwards and one of the bracket is too ^^
