@@Noodles1771 You can agree with Sanders' ideas while also realizing that there are candidates out there with platforms that are 95-99% the same who have demonstrably better executive chops and leadership abilities. The first and foremost job of the POTUS is to be the manager of a bureaucracy upon which millions of people will rely. It means knowing where to use the system and where to change the system to actually bring change to people's lives. That demands competence that Sanders hasn't really shown thus far in his very long career. He talks the talk and walks the walk, I get it. And I appreciate that, because authenticity is hard to come by in politics, especially in this post-truth world. But his record of results is not good for someone who has been in politics for as long as he has. Imo we should nominate someone who is actually equipped to lead through a recession against entrenched opposition - an FDR-like figure. Is he that guy? If he wins, I hope he proves me wrong but in the primaries I'm putting my vote on another candidate with more horsepower.
@ivonedefigueiredo93014 жыл бұрын
derhimmelstoss Your comment is BS. Bernie has been a Senator for decades, which involves managing. He’s doing pretty well in campaigns and I bet he has something to do with managing those as well. Also, being POTUS relies on good people, which is more important because you don’t do it all yourself. I’d like to know how many other presidents had presidential managing experience? None, it’s new for all. How they succeed is based on their reliance on career professionals and administrators. How were Reagan, GWB, Bush Snr, Clinton, Carter, Kennedy, Nixon, LBJ, etc., even Washington, Lincoln, etc. experienced in being POTUS? Were you also one of those that thought Trump would be a good POTUS because he was a businessman (and a failed businessman, at that)? Trump is a pathetic, useless human being, who was probably spoilt by his mommy. He inherited his father’s wealth and all he has accomplished is waste it and bankrupt himself and probably a few honest, hardworking people. He doesn’t know anything. He is a dunce who was taught that he can do anything he likes, and that is the only thing he is good at, believing in his own grandiosity. Your reasoning is bogus. You’re just anti-Bernie. There is not only hard working folks who are doing just fine with the money they make and thus needn't be scared of health expenses on one side and lazy bums who just want a free ride of everything on the other. By setting your assessment of what should be done on the smallest margin of those possible shirkers, you punish the large portion of hard working families and individuals who still would benefit greatly from such a medical system. Social market economy means wanting an economic growth based on the rules of the market itself and not have everything planned and directed from above - but _still_ remembers not leaving those behind who are not as lucky as the "upper ten thousand."

@@ValerieJNorse Russian?! 😂 What gave it away dear? Is it my Arabic nickname, Ana Gazzawi or my brown skin? While I migrated to the US in 1982 and never been to your Trump land (Russia), my first presidential voting was in the 2000 election between Al Gore and little Bush.

@Pronto No I don't have a degree in economics, I only have an engineering and mathematics degrees. However, after carefully looking at the current candidates and considering the country's divide, I think Sanders is the only one who can beat Trump plus he will do many good things for all.

Bernie is quite reasonably concerned that he will be accused of advocating for blood in the streets and everything on fire. He never has, of course, but "revolution" can mean that and of course that is the meaning an opponent would run with. He is old, but he is not stupid or senile.

colbert - leave the revolution thing alone since obviously, your writers do NOT understand "context." President Bernie Sanders is building a "MOVEMENT" with revolutionary ideas. These are ideas promoting Healthful Communities, offering foundational Ideals with obvious structure and benefit for the majority of Americans. Ideas that are instantly recognized as truthful and easily affordable.

@AnexoRialto4 жыл бұрын
He's a social democrat. That's not "moderate". The liberals are moderate. He's left wing. I'm so tired of this fake narrative about how Bernie is actually a conservative in Europe, but Americans don't know it. That does not make him bad for being left, so why lie?
@tinker6514 жыл бұрын
@@badlydrawnturtle8484 no, you're absolutely correct about that. But I find one of the other candidates to be even more progressive than him. I guess that's why I don't really support him. @badlydrawnturtle84844 жыл бұрын
@Brakamar, or else! 1. Castro's literacy program was an indoctrination tool, not a good-faith "help the people" activity, so Bernie mischaracterized the thing he was praising. 2. Bernie wasn't just asked out of the blue, "did Castro do anything positive"; Bernie has, multiple times throughout his career, brought up Castro's Cuba as an example; this implies that, on some level, he admires it, not merely acknowledges a "truth", which again, is actually repeated propaganda rather than actually true. 3. Bernie has said things like this about other Communist regimes, such as Russia, China, and the Sandinistas of Nicaragua. Yet he's failed to praise the "good parts" of any non-Communist dictatorships. This is quite telling on were his allegiances lie.
