Stephen did a great job of starting the show with a Rachel Maddow parody that skewered the long and drawn out dog and pony show put on by MSNBC last night. While I have much love for Rachel, she did not perform so much as a journalist last night. The show put on was more reminiscent of a late-night infomercial for Ginsu knives with all of the "But Wait! There's More!" buildup but in the end, was really just about hyping a knife. It is pretty obvious that the person who "leaked" this 2-page 1040 summary from 2005 did so to provide the maximum benefit to Donald Trump. Johnston was spot on in naming the #1 admirer of Donald Trump in the world... Donald Trump. The White House wouldn't have merrily dumped details about the tax return if it wasn't good for The Donald. He knew MSNBC would enthusiastically jump all over this "news" because it would draw big ratings which made advertisers happy and brings profits to GE's bottom line. Maddow willingly walked right into the honey trap because it was ratings gold. Trump knows how to manipulate people for his benefit. I expect this kind of behavior from Fox or CNN but it was a shame to see Maddow so willingly throw herself into hyping this non-news story. I understand that news is a business and the pressure is on to get ratings but good grief Maddow, have some higher standards please. Trump got what he wanted, a distraction from the endless leaks about his connections (and those of his advisers, staff, business associates, etc.) with Russia and the impact it had on the 2016 Election. So Trump keeps a cage full of squirrels to toss out every few days knowing how the media will chase it. (Trump is a serial squirrel leaker!) Meanwhile, the Trump-Russia connection gets ignored during that news cycle. This absurd descent into the poorly written Twilight Zone episode that is the Trump administration has driven Stephen into talking to his microwave. Somebody resurrect Rod Serling to rewrite this script before it kills us all.

It's great to see how Stephen can handle this from the neutral point of view, with common sense as should. I don't know when liberals are happy. I'm not Conservative, hell I don't even live in America but in Finland. But straight up following what's happening in the North-American continent is just troubling. I mean They got his Tax returns, and he even had higher percentages than for example Obama had, or Bush or any senator/state Representative. Left-wingers lost their election 'cause they lobbed Bernie down from taking him off from the table so Hillary would get more votes, but it backfired and those large number of those Bernie supporters found more sense in Trumps ideology than Hillarys and now they've been bitching about their own mistake for half a year. Liberals proposing insane gender identity laws (Canada) and all these "Peaceful protests" where Starbucks retailers seems to be the hardest victims on material costs. Denying free speech. For what I've understood, Trump doesn't even take President salary as it's basically worthless to him and leaves it to go on helping the American economy, which often Liberals/Left-wingers conviniently forgets.

He's entertainer and business man, he knows how human mind works. Or he's just bat-shit crazy. Either way, by making Trump a joke made his job easy as "Every promotion is good promotion", this applies on everything. And which is admirable but same time extremely scary, is that he's actually politican who seems to fulfill his campaign promises. About that "imaginary attack on free speech", don't you find somehow worried that in Canada you can sue people for not using gender neutral pronouns towards someone and licences don't have sex anymore as it's seen as violation towards the person who holds the licence? JT Nelson I think I've made pretty clear in this thread that I didn't see Trump or Hillary either to be good choise for such position. If I were even American I would have been in Bernies camp. But that's only trough my Finnish eyes. I have never even been in America so I can't judge your systems or how you want to make your points heard. All I've ever said that in MY EYES there's alot of shit happening and I don't understand why people can't unite as a nation. We don't have such problems in Finland so my political view to North-American policies is purely from observation By my views. As I said earlier, in the thread I straight up say that Trump isn't fit to be president of the most powerful nation of the world, but neither should have Hillary been. If you want to see that destroying starbucks retailers is great way to bring your "Peaceful message" out then believe so, I'm just confused how that helps anyone?
