Turbo H6 Subaru WRX STI Hits The Dyno! Best Dyno Session Yet!

Blu, my Built EG33 Swapped STI is back on the dyno after a major overhaul! And yes the car did survive, I drove it to the Dyno and Home from the Dyno lol. My Subaru WRX STI is as rowdy as it has ever been. HOWEVER; we have no idea how much power it is making. The dyno we are using is Bader Builts old Mustang dyno and we are one of the first cars to use it. The dyno continued to add extra load at 110 mph, We were able to manipulate it a bit to get through the tune. But we don't know what it is making. We will be taking it to Josh's shop to put it on his Dyno jet but for now, we are making power, we still have a healthy engine and she can take some more. I want to give a HUGE Shout out to both Josh and Nando at F.I.M Racing for letting us kidnap his shop for a day.

Went back today and verfied the dyno is all messed up. Mk4 Supra at 28PSI on a 6466 did 260whp on it ATP GT series turbo STI did 240WHP My 23 WRX did 211WHP 💀 Mustang reps are going to be fixing it this week.

I use injector duty cycle, injector size, and fuel type to determine power. It's very accurate as long as you're not blowing out spark. Gap them at like 0.20 and you shouldnt blow out spark

Having jacked up loads from a malfunctioning dyno, that manifests in a shredded serpentine belt, (which represents the life a belt in miles?) does not seem like "the best session yet"... This is disturbing.

Good call on leaving it at the shop and not chancing it. After hearing you say there were pieces of the serpentine belt all over the top of the engine I thought to myself you’re damn lucky a small piece didn’t get past that turbo guard and make its way into the turbo that definitely would have ruined your night. Congrats on finally getting it all sorted out and able to enjoy it now!

@@Smeedialove the new engine and stock tune compared to my 07 STi when it was new. But the 07 still feels more “raw” and anolog to me, and the transmission is leagues better as you know 🙂 The 07 sounds better as well. I think it’s impressive the numbers the VB is putting down with a tune and bolt ons, the potential is definitely there, (I can’t wait to watch you build yours) but I’m still a huge fan of my 07 it’s still my favorite. My 07 STi is WRB my 2023 VB is Black.

Its always the car you love the most and spend the most effort on that do the craziest things and such abnormal issues surface i mean what were the chances of a dyno not reading properly. The cars you put together with less love just seem to work. Gotta love the process tho its almost there. So happy to see it doing its thing. Sucks about the belt and iat sensor wire, but definitely much easier to deal with then ANY previous issues. And you’re basically there. Should try to get a log and run it through virtual Dyno. As long as Dyno was loaded correctly(software wise) so it’s similar to street it’ll end up relatively close on numbers(I’ve done this myself in the past and it was nearly spot on).
