Hey Caleb, couple questions: 1) What happens if notifications or calls come in during the recording? Can it continue to record in the background? Will the clip just end? 2) Can this be used to capture video and audio signal from a non-camera source over HDMI? Say recording a desktop screen? Thank you!
@GaryStewart20202 жыл бұрын
Thats actually some good thoughts. My opinion would be to turn off wifi/data when using your phone for video only. I am curious as to what Caleb recommends.

1. It is possible to answer the call in the notification banner. The app will continue to record if you do not change apps. We are working on background mode support. 2. You can capture any compatible HDMI signals up to 1080p 60FPS, including audio.

the biggest drawback in my opinion is that it can only record 1080p60 at h264 codec. almost every new cameramodel can transfer files over wifi or usb-c to you smartphone. what i would like to see is a device like that which can record proresraw internally and use the smartphone or tablet as a monitor. that would be game changing.

Cool product. I'm sure with user input there will be lots of improvements.
@elijahgegen29242 жыл бұрын
I think this is a fantastic device, but at that price point I feel like you can get designated monitors that are larger in size and have a lot of the same features. It definitely has some unique ones like the live streaming and recording straight to your phone, but without any knowledge of how it changes someones workflow I don't know if it is entirely worth that price. The Sony A7iv already has a built in Bluetooth monitoring feature. It isn't the best but it gets the job done at no extra cost. If they could make it cheaper then it would definitely be a must have for beginners all the way up to professionals. Great video though!
@THE_Container2 жыл бұрын
At this point price point there is monitors but external recorders significantly more expensive
@elijahgegen29242 жыл бұрын
@@THE_Container That is a fair point. I guess it just kind of depends on what you are utilizing that feature of the monitor. I think it also only externally records in HD so you are taking a hit on quality if you record externally. I'm not really an expert on monitors so I am not sure.
@THE_Container2 жыл бұрын
@@elijahgegen2924 it depends if you normally record in a higher resolution than HD. HD is still the standard and 4k is not common in pro environments. I would say its mostly used by gamer channels and that sort of thing. But broadcast standard, HD is still the normal. With extremal recorders you can usually record a higher quality. We use Sony cameras recording internally and Panasonic cameara recording externally as it allows 10 bit
