Turner's Outdoorsman lost another customer for life. (Layaway)

Purchased/ordered my Glock 35 in August of 2020 and almost 8 months later Turner’s couldn’t deliver on their promise. At the time of purchase Phil told me that I was the fourth in line for G35 and that I should be getting it much sooner than other folks who ordered G17, G19, G23 etc. There were approximately 800 people waiting for those guns so I figured that Turner’s should be able to get my G35 in no time. Boy was I wrong. At around 6 month period I’ve found a Glock 35 at another store and I was going to jump ship on my order at Turner’s but Phil talked me out of it and reassured me that it will come soon. When I came across another Glock 35 at around 8 month period (different store of course), I decided to purchase it ‘cause I wasn’t getting anywhere with Turner’s. How is it that smaller stores are able to get their hands on Glock 35 and this big chain store like Turner’s is falling short? C’mon man, You’re letting so many 2A rebels down. Turns out they ordered the wrong gun with fixed sight but I guess adjustable sight was readily available? Ship has sailed and it was too late to re-order ‘cause I already had one. I guess the sale fell through due to their incompetence and lack of knowledge that there were more than one type of G35. Their website shows only one G35 Gen 3 for California, no other options available. When staff at Turner’s said that they can order G35 with adjustable sight from the warehouse and tried to up sell it, I was like WTF? Couldn’t they call me sooner and offered it with adjustable sight as soon as it became available just to get the pending order expedited and off their waiting list? I would of gladly paid 30 bucks more for it. I’m well aware of the pandemic and how it created a gun shortage, that’s why I patiently waited 8 months for it, but to take my money and sit on it for a while that’s just not cool. I can only imagine how many customers like me put down a good chunk of change, then the company turned around and used that money to buy cheap ammo, guns, hunting equipment and resold it at inflated prices. I guess everyone is in it to make a quick buck and they could care less about customer service. This store is selling overpriced guns anyways, so I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone and refuse to buy anything from them again. Choose any other store but this one. I’m pretty sure they don’t give a rats ass about loosing one customer because there will be 10 new customers like me. Big wigs at Turner’s, if you’re reading this, don’t offer layaway if you can’t follow through with the order and tell your staff to check your layaway list once in a while because they are not doing anything constructive all day anyways.

I ordered a lower from the roseville location. I went to pick it up today just to find out they shipped it in the wrong color. Now I have to wait another week (if the right one comes in)

It's a shame turners continue to sell guns that aren't in turners possession thus using customer money for other things. What turners does is let employees and friends & family of employees get first dibs on new inventory even though those guns are on hold/layaway/deposit for other customers. We waited more than a year for a marlin 45-70 stainless and a CZ sp-01 yet friends of employees were able to jump the line and snag the rifles/pistols. You should never let turners dupe you into ordering a gun. Always buy what's in stock or go to another store. They will screw you over. They are trained to say "I have it in the warehouse" when in reality they don't have shit. Horrible business practice.

They're pulling the EXACT same shit with me right now. EXACTLY.... I'm waiting 3 months now for a Smith and Wesson SD9VE. Somehow I went from #29 to #50. It's a bunch of bullshit.

It sucks that they did this shit to you too. others are also being screwed over it’s just that they don’t know it yet. Your best bet is sportsman’s warehouse or maybe those small shops that specialize in guns. They lie and so inconsistent, I bought a gun right after Christmas and that it was coming in ASAP meanwhile a buy another gun, and get it the following week, paperwork and all, they even asked me if I wanted to add the other gun (huh my 1st purchase or layaway) which they can't do that since it was not in yet. Anyways within a days, what happens they call me to tell me my 1st order is in, now have to wait 30 days Did my DOJ and DROS for the 2nd gun and picked it up with no problems. Yet now the waiting game for the another gun, finally come in, did my DOJ an wait, Yet they called me within days for me to come in and show them my FSC, I says you have it, yes but its not signed, well that's interesting, you have already sold me another gun and I have it in my possession. Well can't do this one, either you take a new test or get the FSC officer to sign your card. What the heck you are already doing the DOJ and the FSC matches and there is no issues, yet you are going to be a hardass and play that game. I went into the store, he said re take test or I will cancel the order and keep your monies, I said hell if you are. You messed up with 1 order, I have the gun and now you want to do this. My FSC is valid and doesn’t expire til 2025 so why would I want to do that. He walked away cuz he knew he messed up and refund me my $$$ except the DOJ, which if it was complete and approved why do this crap. So even though it gun was cheaper with them, yet I do not want to deal with these shady and double talkers, rude at that in front of dozens of people, he though because I am a women he intimated me but it didn’t work. DON’T BUY FORM TURNERS OUTDOORMAN

All I know is I just picked up a rifle today and they took out the gun lock that comes with the gun and only one mag when I know it come with 2. It was open box and the one on display and sold I to me as new. Never again buying from them all locations suck

Hi Andrew. Short answer is yes. After COVID restrictions were lifted, gun manufacturers started making guns again and at that time I was hopping around from store to store in search of any available ammo. I noticed that Glock 35 became available at two other stores. I wanted to get my money back from Turners but they kept telling me that you’ll get your gun very soon. All in all I’ve had enough after waiting for 9 months so I purchased it from another store and then went to get my money back. Turns out they ordered the wrong gun instead of fixed sight gun. That’s why they couldn’t get their hands on it for so long. I had no idea there were two different versions of this gun and so apparently employees didn’t know it either. Let me know how long it takes you to receive it. To be honest with you, you’re better off looking somewhere else while you’re waiting. I bet other stores might even carry it right now. Call around and see if anyone got it. Good luck.

I had also bad experience from turners but not all of them. If you ordering any firearms and needs transfers etc. you should always call the company youd be using through and make sure you talk to the manager because most of employees don’t know shit. And avoid using turners because they’re pain in the asss. They want you to buy their stuff from the store not online etc., even then they had the most strictest and full of bullshitnesss drama or made up extra rules…

Yeah, it seems like Turner’s offer layaway but they can’t deliver on their promise. So far I haven’t been back to that store and not planning on buying anything from them again. @@joseRodriguez-pk9ld Check the back of your receipt, if it doesn’t say that they reserve the right to keep $150 then tell them that they are making up rules as they go along and show them my video. Maybe you’ll get your full refund. I was told in the store that as long as I don’t get assigned serial number in advance then I can get entire refund. Some folks prepay for their gun and store gets in touch with a gun maker who gives them a gun serial number. In that case you probably can’t weasel your way out of buying that gun. But then again, if you already have a serial number then you should get your gun within weeks because gun maker is already manufacturing it. In my case I called them to find out if I could get reimbursed my full amount if I purchased a gun somewhere else and the store manager told me that yes they will refund my money. Anyways, good luck and keep me posted on your gun. Thanks buddy.

It’s funny because I went to sportsman’s warehouse yesterday and they had 5 different types of Glocks available including my favorite 35. I should’ve waited a bit longer but whatever. Store records us without our consent so we’re even. As far as California law goes, lots of things are questionable. They legalized growing and using cannabis, they pay for safe injection sites, theft is legal up to $950 bucks and you’re telling me recording video is illegal?
