I think calling it the Turret is so much more on brand than the Tower! This year is crazy and has meant all sorts of decision now suddenly do make sense. I hear you on expensive contractors but remember its all a tax deduction, which is a good thing. Hoping it works the way you want and that you can slowly bring more people back in.

Nice place. My friends built a garage for their RV and because she is legally blind, they installed a lift platform in their loft. It is not an elevator, as it is not rated for people, but it can be customized to fit any space, if you are going to be using your basement a lot, you might want to check onto getting one. She said they are not really all that expensive.

Hi, I may be too late by a long time, but I just found your channel. If you haven't completed the door expansion/renovation for the closet, have you thought about/measured to see if the washer/dryer and closet door size you need, would fit on the other, unopened closet wall (opening in the same space as the bathroom door [yes, a design no-no, but sometimes there's no way around it.]). If there's room, you just switch which way the door faces and close the first wall back up/put the original door back in, if there's space behind the washer/dryer you need to access. (it looked deep on that side.) For your half wall, I'd screw deck railing/balusters to the stairs side of the wall, extending up 2 or 3 feet above the top of the wall. Then I'd staple really see through sheers/gauze/netting/etc. to the top of the wall (cover with trim/board), and up the balusters, cover top staples with the railings. Still open and airy, but now any knocked things won't fall. edited: to improve stapling process

I love your new space. It's almost like it was built just for your business. It's a bummer about where the washer/dryer goes. I remember when you posted on IG that you were putting it in that space. I had a feeling it was a load bearing wall. Sorry I was right. On the plus side, if in the future you decide to sell, it adds value to the property.

Velcro, add a bit of Velcro to the bottom of anything that gets put on that half wall and put a strip on the half wall and then it shouldn’t move!

Ha, yes, we handed stuff down through the hatch. At some point I want to rig up some sort of pully system. At least once stuff is down there, I only have to go down for the occasional thing.

Redthreaded I had the same thought, that setup needs a diy elevator/dumbwaiter for moving things up and down the ladder. Congrats on the new space too, looks like a great place to do work!

The upper floor looks like you're working in a treehouse! It all looks fantastic, and you keep proving that creativity works just as well for planning and executing your business as it does for Worth recreations. Seems to me you must have had to assemble the basement shelves in-place, and did you use straps or something to get everything down to the basement?

It took two people, but we just handed everything down through the hatch. Luckily all the shelf parts fit fine and we just assembled them down there.

When you make your historical outfits, are you making them just for you? If not, then who? are they made for Hollywood sets? I love all these historical channels, and wouldn’t mind making some of these underclothes (chemise/drawers) for myself to wear, or sleep in.
