This game might be the perfect Silent Hill experience, in the sense that it accurately simulates the feeling of actually being in Silent Hill. Constant frustration, confusion, disgust towards the entire experience and nothing is entertaining. You don't even really want to play the game anymore, just like how you wouldn't want to be in Silent Hill for any period of time at all. But that is giving the devs too much credit, because it's just actually a shitty game.

I feel WAY more frustration and confusion when i play the 4 old classic Silent Hill games than when i play Homecoming and Downpour because on the old Silent Hill games i often have no idea what i am supposed to do to continue the game and i just run around the area and run into enemies that forces me to waste my ammo and health items for a long time and the old Silent Hill games are filled with really hard and complicated puzzles that it takes forever for me to beat. On Homecoming and Downpour i almost always knows where i am supposed to go and what i am supposed to do and the puzzles are way easier and there is not even close as many puzzles as in the old games. So yea the 4 old Silent Hill games are better and scarier but they are way more frustrating and confusing. Saying that Homecoming and Downpour are more frustrating and confusing than the old games is just really stupid to me.

CyberLance26 So you want a game that holds your hand and doesn't deliver any kind of scary atmosphere or any sense of dread or subtly over something that wants you to explore the town of Silent Hill. I'd rather play 2 over Homecoming, which is just a straight line from 'horror' moment to moment instead of letting you find find your way around the town you're supposed to be having Homecoming to.

If matt and pat found themselves in Silent Hill for real, i imagine it would be exactly the same, with the emotions scaled up by a factor of ten. Pat would deal with the terror by screaming abuse at matt every time he does anything, while matt would complain about the subpar dialogue even as the monsters tear out his eyes and pprepare him for the sacrifice
