Thank you all for your warm greetings from all over the world. You have made a real difference in how I have been feeling in these days of social isolation. Please stay safe, wear your masks in public and we'll all get through this together. Thank you again, you have warmed my heart.

I started watching your bookbinding videos many years ago (under the old channel name), then fell out of touch when you started focusing on metal chasing. Very happy to see new bookbinding videos from you. Yours have always been my favorite. So many other channels use so much bad technique, they make me cringe.

Hi Sage, so happy for your come-back! During your long absence, l often wondered what has happened to you. I had learnt so much from you, long ago. Now, you are there again, and seeing you again quietly crafting your albums and sharing your excellence and your tips is like a ray of sunlight in our rather sad world. All my best from locked-down France, Jean

Hello, Sage - how great to see you again! Glad you are doing well. Have you worked much with multiple-page (6, 8, or more folds) accordion books? I have a terrible time folding the pages accurately. Any chance you've come up with some kind of jig to help? Cheers from Washington State at the furthest NW corner possible --

It's so wonderful to see a new video! I've learned so much from your earlier videos. Why did you punch the signatures during the stitching process and not punch them all first? Thank you so much for sharing your work with us. It's inspiring and relaxing to watch.
@Ceropegia4 жыл бұрын
Because I would have to open the signatures twice during the sewing process, once to punch and then again to sew. It would add a lot of time, stacking punched signatures and then I would have to open them again and finish sewing. Punching while sewing finishes the operation as you do it saving both time and space.

@@Ceropegia That makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I have only just discovered your channel, and have learned a lot from your older videos. I am in South Africa, and can’t economically buy from American online stores. What sort of tape are you using? It seems stiffer and sort of papery? Perhaps I can find a similar sort of tape here.
@Ceropegia4 жыл бұрын
It is a starched, woven tape, you should be able to find something in a fabric store that will work. I have used strips of leather and cut strips of denim. The tapes are there to help keep sewing straight and regular. You also, sometimes, use them to pull the signatures together. Thanks for watching.
@kateh40304 жыл бұрын
@@Ceropegia thank you for your reply, I will easily find woven cotton tape, and I can starch it myself. The starch I’m sure makes it easier to work with.

Sage, I love your vediosand have watch then all! Make More! What weight is the Black Stone? Thx!
@Ceropegia5 ай бұрын
The paper is Black Stonehenge which is 250 GSM. I think that is the standard weight of Stonehenge paper. It also comes in Cream, white and some other colors. Check out Dick Blick on line. I would like to make more videos but I am immersed in Metal work now and the studio,is totally devoted to that work, although I can still do some normal binding. I might make a video or two on binding computer print outs and a colonial diary maybe later this summer. Let me know if you are interested in that. Thanks for watching! and happy binding.
@gaziakkus3 жыл бұрын
how many pages are in a signature 2? 4?
@Ceropegia3 жыл бұрын
Usually the standard is for a signature to have 4 folios, A folio is sheet of paper folded in half, that gives you two leaves which is 4 pages. So 4 folios in a signature gives you 8 leaves which is 16 pages. Thanks for watching.
