For real! If they were I wouldn’t be changing into a new set after one season. Regardless of that part, they also didn’t do anything with grips, lie, and length. I called and had my grips changed before the build started, so atleast I avoided that and obviously lie angles are easily changed, but I really needed my irons 1/4-1/2” longer

His overall timing and his brain doesnt really account for flex in the shaft - so he times it better the stiffer the shaft is. what a swing

I need some forgiveness (I miss toe a lot as well) but I don’t need help with height or distance. I’ve felt that my misses are accentuated by my current set (somewhat forgiving iron) bc the ball can hang in the air so long. I think I understood yall to be trying to avoid this situation during this fit? Are there other irons you’d have considered testing him in? I was leaning towards Mizuno 245s but not wondering if I should stray away from those?

I agree 100%. I’ve been fit by 4 different fitters, at 4 different companies in about the same amount of time and got such inconsistent results that I felt it was a waste of money and time. I currently have a coach, took the time to learn my spec., did my research, experimented, bought my components and a few tools, and started building my clubs myself. I instantly saw such a drastic improvement to strike, distance and consistency that I was mind blown. 95% of what ive learned about specs and adjustments has been through this channel. I wish I got similar results when i went to club champion, because of course I fell into the upcharge trap thinking that would be the difference maker, when in fact it felt like my game got worse. I now have zero of the clubs I was fit into by them less than 1 season ago in the bag at this point and ended up with an iron that that fitter claimed “I could never hit”.

Those 4-5* toe down strikes 😬 even at 2 degrees the strikes don’t feel nearly as pure as zeroed out. I’d tell him to slow down and figure that out. Probably just getting hands lower at impact. It brings in another variable that lowers consistency of strike with each club and trajectory among all the clubs. I don’t know if it’s a case of just changing the lie angle on the clubs to toe up but maybe. The club face gets more twitchy the more upright you make it. He may start snap hooking it.
