Kind of new to fursuit making, and I'm in the process of making a realistic resin base with kind of non-realistic colors. Colors will be mainly black and white. After watching this, I may go to minky or bunny if I can, but what would you recommend to a starter? I plan on buying swatches of luxury shag and maybe minky to see if the colors match, since I want longer fur around the cheeks and neck.

Hey there! Sorry for the wait, I don't think I saw this comment. Minky is more for plushies/stuffed animals while Mink is fur! Overall I think Mink shaves a lot better and is easier to work with then shag but doesn't have a wide color range available.

Looking for recommendations on what fur is best to use for a new Santa Claus suit. I want something that will be soft, durable and look really good with minimal brushing. Something dense and smooth, and not to short, but no too shaggy. This will get a lot of wear and needs to last.

Thank you soooo much for this video!~ Hey, I got a question... I was making a tail that is super fluffy on top and not as fluffy( or nearly no fluffy at all) on the bottom. I found a turquoise "shaggy minky cuddle" fabric on Etsy for the underside. Do you think I can shave that kind of fabric if it's too long? Thank you ^w^
@sammysmiles15025 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I would probably recommend just going with Minky fabric for the under side. If you search "Minky Cuddle 3" on fabric.com you should find what you're looking for!

Thanks for making this, I've been looking for a fur guide for ages! 😍 I have a question; I want to make a fursuit with a mink/bunny base colour, but the design has various coloured hearts all over it. Because of limited colours, would it work to buy Luxury Shag and just shave it down to match the length of the mink/bunny? Thanks! ✌️

Hey there! You can for sure just shave down the shag. It’s going to be a slightly different texture but sometimes that’s a compromise you have to make with how limited colors can be.

I’m making a cat and the only fluffy parts is the chest, neck, and a fluff on the head. What fur would you recommend because the rest of the hair is short. The colors are black and white and some red

Hey! I bought monster fur without realizing the backing is patchy. Is there any tips to help make it work better in my suit. I'm a little stuck 🙃

Hello, I've been asked to make a 4.5" x 4.0" product our of bear faux fur. The pile is about 1.5" thick. Is there an easy way to sew this or is shaving the edges first then sewing?

I have looked at SO many fur websites, searching for the colours I need (which are yellow, pastel yellow, a linen brown and white) , and I’ve only found ONE website that has those colours. I was so excited, but then I looked at the postage.. 216 Australian dollars postage for 4 SWATCHES! So expensive! So If you have a fur website to recommend me with those colours, please let me know in the reply’s! I’m trying to make my first fursuit and I need some help. It would also help if u recommended me a good first fur type to use! But I mostly need a website

I import products to America and I'm learning about fake fur because I don't want to make clothing out of real fur is there any way I can send you photos of the item I want to Manufacture I just need durability long and won't clog up the way some synthetic furs do and made in white thank you
@sammysmiles15025 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I would suggest just ordering swatches from a few different places and seeing which one meets your needs : ) I’ve learned for the most part faux fur on clothing doesn’t last that long due to people washing it incorrectly. Faux fur of any kind should never be washed with any type of heat (including dry cleaning) as the heat melts the fibers and you end up with a clumpy mess.

What fur would you suggest for boots basically to cover them ?
@sammysmiles15026 жыл бұрын
Hey there! If this is for fashion I would suggest going with a shorter pile fur (Teddy or Bunny) due to the shoes contact with the weather. Longer pile furs will need more care and would get nasty faster then the shorter piles which don't require as much brushing to look nice.
