My Sweet Ambitions

This is the continuation of the ube saga,
For the purple yam recipe please see my crinkles recipe • Ube Crinkles/ Yam Crin...
For for the swiss meringue butter cream see the mocha Icing • Mocha Icing
For the chiffon Cake
We need
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp of ube flavourings
1 tsp of salt
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup milk
8 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
5-7 drops of purple food colouring this can be optional or you can put less
1/2 cup ube ( I use rehydrated purple yam , You can use fresh ube or ube jam) if you use ube jam just decrease the sugar a little bit
For the meringue
8 egg whites
3/4 cups of sugar
1 tsp of cream of tartar
For the Icing
You can use whip cream
cream cheese Icing
of swiss meringue icing which I use I just put 1 1/2 tsp of ube flavouring

I tried your ube cake and it's really good. I just used to change or replaced some ingredients I make my own halaya and it comes out really good. I love it, I did not enrolled in baking lessons, I'm just watching here at KZbin and I like your version. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I might try making this for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I like to do something different each year, and bring things my family likely hasn't had before. Usually people like what I bring (the lemonade pies were a hit), sometimes it's more hit and miss (some people loved the marshmallow pies, but some just couldn't stand them). This ube chiffon cake looks like it would be well-liked by everybody. Yes, I think I will.

I made this cake turned out wonderful, my kids love it! One down to this is, it's doesn't taste that good the next day. The cake is crumbly...

+Kristine Joy Sillorequez no ube flavouring is really important, you can do this with just ube flavouring and no ube .

@@mysweetambitions Hi! I finally got the time to make this when I got my hands on ube flavoring. Sadly, I don't know what happened but it doesn't taste that good as I expected. I made the cake only without the icing. The cake taste bland. 😑 Do you have any advice? I really wanted to make it perfect next time.

It looks good but it needs more stuffings and better decor cuz your decor is more for the month of December holidays (we don't celebrate christmas) - the sample you showed here has a really nice and simple floral decor which would have made your ube cake look amazing. I'm gonna see if I could use a white fondant instead of the ol' icing and something pastel inspired fondant decor since I'm planning to bake it for my princess who's turning 21. She wanted me to use tapioca pudding as the cake stuffing and don't think I'll be doing that. Possibly white chocolate or vanilla cream instead. ***If you have any better idea for the stuffing besides the one you used and mentioned here in the video, I would really appreciate it if you can share them with me. As long as it's nothing chocolate, toffee or caramel. Thanks and Shalom. 💖JZiELLE👩🏻

I tried this ube chiffon cake but it's kinda dense. Is it really 2 1/2 cups of cake flour? because your mocha chiffon cake is perfect. cake is super fluffy and moist

Hi! I have tried some of your recipes and they taste so good! Thank you so much for sharing. By the way, do you have a particular site/reference that you follow when you convert cups to grams or vice versa? I measure ingredients through grams, though I searched for cups to grams conversion. However, there are a lot of references and differences with regards to the conversion. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you!

+brukesheeld 160 deg c preheat oven atleast 15 minutes, 30-35 minutes or until When you insert skewer in the middle of the cake and the skewer comes out clean

Can I omit the grated ube & just use ube flavoring instead? Purple yam is not in season yet & there's no ube powder from where I live. Tnx!

Can I use a pan with a removable bottom. That’s the only pan I got. Will it affect the cake if I turn it upside down. My problem also with chiffon is the top will not come out dry but rather so moist it detached when I turn it over. Yes it is cooked already

You can use you pan , its ok if you turn it upside down. Do not grease the pan but male sure to put baking paper at the bottom.

Hi, I Tried your recipe last night but I was a little disappointed when It turned out flat after cooling down. I am planning to do it another try today for my birthday dinner tonight. Please let me know the exact procedure not to shrink the cake. I am using a 9" round aluminum pans. And I am wondering if I could get the complete procedure in writing so I could just read. I am not good of following the steps by just listening and watching on this video while mixing the ingredients. It keeps me pausing and replaying the video that took me forever to finish the mixing. I am so desperate to make it perfectly well. Thanks

+Jermie Elcullada it is important that you do not over mix your batter, make sure that it is baked ok so it does not shrink, I use 8x3 so my cake is higher than yours. Pre heat your oven before you start mixing the cake batter, I don't have a written recipe

Is this cake sturdy enough to be covered with fondant? If not, how can I make it sturdier? Apf? Extra egg maybe?😁

My Sweet Ambitions i mean should I bake one by one or bake it together?( the 2 8inch cake pan)

you should bake it together, chiffon batter does not do well sitting out, once you've done mixing the batter it needs to bake straightaway or else the air from the meringue will slowly burst and you will end up with a flat cake

Hello po my sweet ambitions, ask q lang po after po magawa yun cake at malagyan ng icing pwede po ba ilagay sa fridge, at ilalabas lang xa pagise serve na hindi ba titigas yun icing or sa labas lang xa for how many hour po Kaya baka po MG melt at masira ang decoration. kc worry lng aq f ginawa q xa tapos d q alam Kala labasan ng texture ng icing... +My Sweet Ambitions thanks.. If only I can upload photo here to show my version to you.. I run out of ube flavouring .. So instead I used coffee for the frosting.. It turns out ube mocha flavour.. Yummy!!!!! 😊

Using parchment paper would've been a better choice for icing your cake if you don't have a turn table

MM B you can use all purpose flour but it might be a little denser, is it because you cannot buy cake flour ? You can make your own if you want too, buy tweaking the flour a little bit, for every cup of flour take out 3 tablespoon and replace it with 3 tbsp of cornstarch or cornflour sift it 5x and you have a cake flour. Hope this helps.

Geraldine De Guzman Manalo if you don't have purple yam then just use the ube flavoring, it will not taste the same but it will still be good, but you cannot omit the ube flavoring

Angelito David yes you can put macapuno strips but make sure to drain the excess liquid from the macapuno.

M Maurer hello I use ube powder as well, I put down the link of my ube crinkles in the description box where I show how to rehydrate the ube powder just follow the recipe and that will give you enough ube to use for the cake and ube crinkles
