Ashlynn Shade is so underrated and is so steady for such a young player. Hopefully she’ll get this much playing time when UConn gets over these nagging injuries

As always, heartfelt thanks to you MJL243, for posting!! Even missing 5 players ranging from great to good, this Uconn team is still capable of doing some serious ncaa tournament damage.

If Uconn can get steady scoring from the freshmans and all 3 seniors play their A game, then Uconn can go far into the NCAA's- Hoping for a good seeding and bracket. Now go out and win the BigEast tournament and hope for the best..Good luck ladies...Go huskies..

Paige is built different. This girl is a damn good basketball player! I can’t wait to watch her improve and be the best at what she does and always has. It’s so easy to fall in love with how she plays. 🔥
@markhathaway945611 ай бұрын
The game was very fast, sometimes lots of bumping contact, Allen was key for DePaul, Paigie went wild, even the team without Aaliyah and Paige on the floor looked pretty decent. High FG%, low turnovers, looks good. Aaliyah is really pouring it on with another double double. Ice and Q have come into their own pretty well. The team is able to mesh better because of that. I'd say they're ready for the BigE tournament.

Been looking forward to this Thanks again. Edit: Having watched the game now, that little freshman guard from Brazil, I think her name is Inês Bettencourt, shows a bit of promise. Between 4 and 3 minutes to go in the 4th. Not the only howler the commentators made in talking about the players! 🤨

@@emcarnahan Do I need to explain the concept of a "joke"? I was commenting on one of several errors by the commentators. If we're being pedantic, she's from São Miguel, an Autonomous Region of Portugal. Oh, and she isn't a freshman either!

Maybe just turn your volume up on your device because the volume wasn’t low for me
@frankiek226911 ай бұрын
@@melissaandkatiesmcgrathwif3101. It’s low because of the SNY channel. They don’t broadcast a lot of audio volume as other channels. My ear buds [Ipods] are on full and it’s about 80% of what I would consider full volume. Edit: CBSSN, I mean.

Around 29:42 Julianne Viani espousing the efficacy of Edwards at the post position then illuminating the fact, "not everyone can make layups". No Shit, it's Women's Basketball. How frustrating it is to see Fast Breaks with an open path to the basket and flub the opportunity.

The team played great, and show cased the mid-range shooting of Paige, Ash, & Aliyah. Page & Ash, you are lights out, set the scoreboard on fire, mid-range shooters. Here's a special tip for Ashley: you are a fantastic mid-range shooter. Have Aliyah & Ice clear out for you more often so that you can post up more often. The same is true for Paige. Both of you are as deadly with your back to the bucket as you are face on. Ash, your release on the 3-point is too slow. You're not getting enough snap into the shot: that's why you are leaking left & right of your bullseye. You could speed up your 3-point release like Hannah Jump does or increase your finger & wrist strength via your strength coach. You could also go into triple-threat posture and fake after you catch the pass & before you shoot. You could also bounce the ball once, sidestep & shoot. The same advice would apply to Paige because she, like you, is a kinetic athlete. You' two are both like Myra Braun from Wisconsin, and Citron, Hidalgo & Nattie Westbeld of Notre Dame. De Wolf can shoot off the static spot, but all of you are better when you make a move, & then, shoot. Take a tip from the two top 3-point shooters in the US, D1 league: Caitlin Clarke and Hannah Jump move to their sot, see their target & launch. They don't loiter, catch & slow shoot. They, like Larry Bird, know what they are going to do & they let their subconscious mind take over.

Everyone says UConn runs it up but Paige & Edward’s get off the court at halftime or a lil in to the third unless players r in foul trouble or geno wants to run something this is the first game I’ve seen her in the fourth I thunk he’s playing around about lineups along w getting her ready for stamina for ncaas…Samuels & ice are the ones that need to step up still shook & sad on Aubrey’s injury…I think they can make a run to a final four/elite 8 if they get a good draw Paige gets greedy & those freshmen step up.
@minimeminiyou16 ай бұрын
Paige doesn't get greedy though and she never will. She's definitely the star player that wants her teammates to have some shine too. Geno puts the most pressure on her to score the points. But I totally agree about Ice and Sammuels

Thanks for another non-SNY game MJL. I can only leave the copyright B/S to Karma to "take care of" SNY for their less-than-wonderful business practices/copyright B/S). Never before have I had to resort to any of those "highlight only games," and now I am most grateful that at least with them I won't be completely devastated without a game. Something is better than nothing. Have a blessed week everyone!!
