The part played by the liver in the making of the hormone insulin is largely underestimated and underplayed. Fatty liver is the major culprit in most diabetic patients. Setting the liver right will prove more beneficial to stabilize insulin levels. The liver both stores and manufactures glucose depending upon the body's need. The need to store or release glucose is primarily signaled by the hormones insulin and glucagon.

Why do we need to give insulin when one is producing lot of insulin....please explain. Why can't we teach them what to eat and what not to.
@gavinv48075 жыл бұрын
A person may produce insulin but that doesn't mean their cells are sensitive to insulin, meaning that exogenous insulin is required. People with type 2 diabetes have poor insulin sensitivity.
@Ridicvideo5 жыл бұрын
@@gavinv4807Walle agree to that but that not the real solution. it's like pushing trash under the bed, in the attic, under the sink but not preventing it getting into the house or removing it. exogenous insulin is really of type1 diabetic. yes, some time to tide over the problem in type diabetics but it has been morphed into the drug for type 2 patients. have you ever seen a type2 patient taking insulin loose weight? also if type 1 diabetic is taking insulin too much they get double diabetes
@gavinv48075 жыл бұрын
@@Ridicvideo It most certainly is and I absolutely agree. Any medications (including insulin) -- whether oral or endogenous -- should be combined with lifestyle changes that emphasize a healthy diet and regular exercise, especially considering T2DM is considered a lifestyle disease that is likely preventable.

I’m confused-why is getting insulin levels “down” considered a good weight loss solution, when insulin is only the key that helps glucose get into your livers and muscles?
@gendo1kar15 жыл бұрын
This only really applies to Type 1 Diabetics, not insulin resistant type 2 Diabetics who carbohydrates, and insulin exasperate the problems over time.

Started Ok but the focus went to type one and stayed there for the remainder of the session. So I was disappointed in the topic. Should have been labeled control of type one diabetes. Majority of people are type Two and insulin resistant. So that was never discussed fully. I do not need insulin so this was a waste of my time.

Disappointed for other reasons. Type 2 is a disease of too much insulin. It is well know why insulin doesnt work in these people. Type 1 is a disease of too little insulin. I find it crazy that we are still giving type 2 patients insulin long term, when the problem is too much insulin. Recommend listening to Jason Fung.

@@Unsensitive also listen to Dr. Lustig. the so-called "healthcare" industry can't seem to figure out that T2D is a curable condition rather than a manageable one. oh, & manageable only with very expensive drugs. I cured my T2D by simply changing what I eat & I didn't need a medical degree.

It's a shame that she is unaware of the main culprit behind type 2 diabetes. diets high in fat, especially saturated fat, cause deposits of fat to build up in the muscle and liver making insulin not be able to do its job. Type 2 diabetes is completely preventable in the vast majority of cases. It can also be reversed with diet.
@b.porterv74185 жыл бұрын
Thales Nemo: Sorry, you are incorrect saying I’m wrong. Look at the science. There are doctors reversing Type 2 on a daily basis. Maybe you should keep current if you think I’m wrong. It happened to me - I reversed mine with diet only.
