I have the same one and it comes with a spacer and longer bolt to install where the rod mounts to the frame if you have any kind of lift. That will eliminate that extreme angle you have. If you do not install that ASAP your bearing on the other end won't last very much longer. Also, the instructions specifically say not to exceed 7 degrees between the unit and steering rod. That is why that o-ring came out. You might be okay though - -by the looks of the underside cleanliness I don't it goes off road much. Hope this helps.

We kept it in the middle range. Fox has a frame spacer & longer bolt available (contact customer service) this will help reduce the angle if lifted. Getting it turned properly is crucial to keep it from binding check full lock turning and compressing/extending suspension and turning. I've seen these snap off from improper positioning. Ours worked great but we did take extra time / testing to ensure position.

This is the best steering stabilizer on the market. And adjustable. Is your truck lifted? Oversized tires? Any modifications? The steering stabilizer will help "mask" the problem but isn't the real solution. I'm guessing the axle play may be coming from the track bar... you might consider checking out the track bar that Carli Suspension sells.

@@davidfreidus5022 Highly likely the factory track bar. Give the guys at Carli Suspension a call and ask them... stabilizer won't solve the source of front end play. The advantage of the Fox Stabilizer is being adjustable and performing similar to dual stabilizers. I like the design.

Just curious about your drag link connection. I know you mentioned you have a 4” lift and what got my attention is that your drag link is mounted on top of your pitman arm? I know not all suspension lifts carry the same specs but according to BDS 4” kit, they advise that the drag link be connected through the bottom of the pitman arm. Therefore the ball joint nut would be on top of the pitman arm. I have this Fox ats stabilizer but haven’t installed it yet because I’m waiting for a drop bracket (as you mentioned). I’m also running a 4” lift with 37’s. Have you found a bracket that will work?

Check out our older videos showing the entire truck build. We are using Carli suspension parts. Drag link is stock. No modifications to steering. Fox has a spacer available for their stabilizer. Give them a call and they can send it to you. Basically drops the frame mount by 1". It has been working great for us for over 2 years!

@TruckCamper3 жыл бұрын
We haven't had that issue... vibration is likely a tire problem. Might start by having a tire shop rotate and balance. Bump steer can be reduced with a good steering stabilizer like this... essentially can dampen steering feedback and add some resistance. Hope that helps!

you have to give the Duratracs time to break-in. I literally couldn't keep my Tremor in my lane or on the road after buying it new. After over 11k miles, it's fine. I did very recently add camber shims and this Fox ATS steering stabilizer, which has given it a better on-center feel (from the caster shims), and the Fox ATS seems to have smoothed out the steering a bit. Mine drives great, now.

My F250 Tremor is stock suspension with stock size tires and aftermarket wheels. Do you think the FOX 985-24-001 would be adequate for my needs or do I need to get this monster steering stabilizer?
@TruckCamper3 жыл бұрын
Any of the Fox steering stabilizers will have improved performance over the stock stabilizer (rather weak). The biggest advantage to this ATS stabilizer is the ability to adjust (dial in the steering feel) and offers better performance (similar to running dual stabilizers). Really is going to come down to cost! Otherwise, keep running your stock stabilizer until it wears out... then upgrade. I'd spend the extra money for the adjustability especially if considering wider tires, larger diameter or future lift. Hope that helps!!

Bought a 2017 F350 with an aftermarket Rancho dual stabilizer included a year ago. One of the shocks had a dent about 1" wide and a pothole yesterday caused a leak. The shop sealed the leak, but they're rusting some. 2 shops give unclear advice on these stabilizers. Stock 18" wheels and tires, no lift. Should I remove the aftermarket and replace the stock with something like Fox? I was checking them out a few months ago. I'm not sure there's a reason to keep the aftermarket with no lift. Or since the aftermarket is already installed, should I keep it and replace the shocks on it as well as the stock stabilizer with upgrades?
@TruckCamper3 жыл бұрын
Steering stabilizer helps reduce or mask steering feedback. The beauty of this FOX stabilizer is that it mounts in the stock location (high less likely to be damaged), functionality of dual stabilizers (in 1 unit) and adjustable to dial in resistance you like. Basically it's a game changer in the steering stabilizer world which hasn't seen advancements in decades. Lifted or stock it works. Shocks won't effect steering but definitely can improve the ride quality

Hi, I have this on my stock 2018 F350, I installed it around June 2020. I've just notice the O-rings at each end are bulged out and cracked, these O-rings are to stop the dirt and garbage entering the bearing/bushings. I am about to install a 2.5" lift to the truck and came to the same conclusion that this will increase the angle and only make this issue worse. Do you think it could it be rotated to be on the top side of the drag link?
@TruckCamper3 жыл бұрын
I sent pictures to FOX and asked about the o-rings. They are working on a drop bracket for the frame side of the stabilizer (not completed). You could certainly build something similar to drop the frame side mount 1" down. Can't go too far... otherwise, you'll have clearance issues at full suspension compression. You won't have too much angle increase with the 2.5" lift. We are closer to 4" lift and it's still functional. You really can't rotate it to improve. Best thing would be to space down the frame mount. We've been running ours for nearly a year. Hope that helps!
