A vegan omelette is a great lunch idea it's like the ultimate savoury pancake. This one is packed full of seasoning and is fully customisable to suite your taste. It's a great way to get veg into your meals for you or kids or just anyone who doesn't like veg all that much. We'll hopefully be making more videos about delicious filling combinations soon.

INGREDIENTS for 2 tbsp oil 2 cloves garlic 4 cherry tomatoes Handful of spinach 120g Gram / chickpea flour 230ml oat milk ½tsp black pepper ¼tsp smoked paprika ½tsp Baking powder ½tsp onion powder 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp Tamari 1 tbsp Sun-dried tomato pesto / any flavour agent Sprinkle of nutritional yeast (Optional) Vegan cheese (Optional)

Tip form black salt: sprinkle it on top at the end, otherwise it looses it's flavor during cooking

I love how you guys are truly authentic in all you do even showing the imperfect flipping of your OMLETS... im glad im not the only one that has issues with flipping them - You both are TRULY amazing young men!! If you add kala namak (black salt) to it, it tastes so much more like egg. Will give yere version a try too as ye have added lots of yummy flavours. Thanks "Dudes".. Caroline😊

You could also use black salt of stead of regular as it gives sort of an eggy taste due to the sulfur smell 💚✌

I loved watching you struggle with getting it out of the pan, it gave me a good chuckle because its so realistic! Great recipe guys, it looks great. I think i would omit the tomatoes and add mushrooms or onions instead.

Further observation: I've had these loads of times for lunch recently and, presumably due to high protein content, they are incredibly filling and therefore don't get the mid-afternoon munchies!

Mine doesn't fold in half. The bottom half isn't strong enough. It keeps coming out scrambled.

i have to admit i put my omelette on the plate, then the filling on top, then flip half the omelette over it if that's what i'm doing. Personally, i only like my omelettes really raw because i love the taste of raw egg, but i'm the hugest pancake fan and mine are always vegan because i'm lazy and tbh that is a pancake

I tried it out tonight. It was quite tasty. It was quite stiff, it had the texture of a pancake. You should really make a filling to go with it, because on its own, it's not so good.

I tried to mkae a omelet with chickpea flour some time ago, but I personally am not a fan of the chickpea flour taste that it gives. I'll try this recipe to see if it's better.

Tasted great but 5 mins to make the omelette, half an hour to clean the pan and enough gas to propel a jet engine from London to Sydney. I'll be sticking with hummus for breakfast in future. 😳

Just made this omelette tonight. Vow! Really Delicious! Thank you guys. You are genius. My friend who ate with me was amazed how good this omelette was. Definitely lives up to its name. I added Nutritional Yeast to the batter that I think imroves the taste as you have said, and using cherry tomatoes is also important in this recipe.

Picked up big bag of gram flour in Wing Yip for 2 quid.I popped in grated courgette as well. Chucked in onion salt and garlic pepper for flavour. Tasty light lunch.

Thanks! So that is 2 tablespoons oil for each omelet? The flour has been said can cause "winds" if not allowed to set for 6 or more hours. Thought with this recipe I wonder how? Looks yummy. Maybe plan to be away from other after enjoying?

I was really excited to find this video! Do you think I could use vital wheat gluten in lieu of chickpea flour? In my town, chickpea flours been a bit hard to find, but I always have VWG on hand.

Just made this for my wife (whose allergic to eggs) and myself (slowly going vegan) and it was delicious! Question: will the batter keep ok in e fridge overnight? Want to make it the night before and have it ready for coming into after walking the dogs in the morning.

So since you didn’t flip it, it seems a little raw in the middle? Or did it cook through? I couldn’t quite tell.

patty 8873, I thought it looked like there was still some liquid batter when he put the spinach and tomatoes on. It probably needed another minute, or to be flipped to cook the top. It looks yummy whether it takes 5 or 6 minutes to cook! LOL

You could try a combination of spelt and buckwheat, but it would have quite a different flavor to the chickpea flour.
