Unbelievable YURT In The Forest | Building an OFF GRID Yurt - Finale, Part 2/2 - • Unbelievable YURT In T...
DID YOU MISS OUR YURT FINALE Part 1??? Click Here: • Escaping The Rent Trap...
We bought 8 acres of raw land, off grid, in the Canadian Wilderness and decided to build a tiny house as our first dwelling. Our Tiny House will be a Yurt. A Yurt or Yurta is a Mongolian Style Teepee or Tent. This is part one of our Yurt Building FINALE and part 2 is being uploaded at the SAME TIME. Click Here for Yurt Finale part 2: • Unbelievable YURT In T...
This Yurt build and Yurt life will be a journey, we hope you SUBSCRIBE and come with us! Enjoy #yurt #offgrid #tinyhouse #alone #livingoffgrid #garden #offthegrid #gardening #DIY
Nicole and I are attempting to live off the grid in British Columbia, Canada. We have 8 acres of forest property sandwiched in between the Pacific Ocean, a fresh water lake, and a stream which flows year round from the lake into the ocean. For over nearly 10 years I grew a fruit tree, permaculture, garden, and native edible plant, herb, and raised bed garden food forest. You can still watch all the garden videos of my old desert garden in Arizona. I was born in British Columbia and I have returned to the Rain Forests of British Columbia to a "Raw Land" property to grow my 1st FULL EDIBLE FOOD FOREST Off Grid on a wilderness property. This climate is temperate and coastal, rarely seeing snow in the winter and highs in the 80's (30 Celsius) in the summer. It is a rare microclimate that spans from gardening zone 7-9. The property is 8 acres and completely overgrown, mostly with conifer trees. This area is a verifiable rain forest and situated in the Southwestern-most tip of the Canadian "Great Bear Rain Forest". NicHolistic ( / holisticnicole ) and I will be learning about edible seaweeds, edible native plants, edible mushrooms, and many other edible native trees/plants as we attempt to Build a Yurt, Draw Our Energy Clean, Live Off the Grid, and Grow an Epic Superfoods Garden and Fruit Tree Orchard. We will also have a lot of changes coming so get ready. More videos and BTS Clips at my VLOG channel / adventureswjakenicole

Today is my 65th birthday and you've got me time-tripping back to when I was 25 years old! My wife and I created and inhabited a Tipi at 6500 feet above sea level in SW Colorado for 2 years! Without question, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had! Ever! Some of my friends are retired now, though I would never have traded places with them and can't imagine sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week! So, I leave you with this thought: Never stop taking adventures!!! I have bought a 30 acre farm in the Blue Ridge Mts of Virginia, owned 3.5 acres in Colorado, been published, put myself through grad school, started and ran 5 business', watched molten lava flow to the sea at night, body-surfed Hawaii, skied the high-country of the Rocky Mountains, did ceremonies with several Native American tribes, recorded a musical CD, traveled 6400 miles across the USA in 38 days interviewing and filming a project I called "The Search For Good News!" And much more. I now lead bright, talented, curious young adults to question their limiting beliefs and live outside their comfort zone! Life becomes an ongoing adventure at this juncture. So thanks, for stimulating my memory with your own adventure! Happy Birthday!

You two are doing fantastic on the build, with minimal equipment, putting your 2 brains together and getting it done. Your video on the build is great, thank you very much. I hope the manufacturer is some how apreative. The warm weather will help to soften it all up and it should smooth out as the summer goes. You must be getting close to spending a night in the building. You will be all smiles.

@@barbibutton9619 : Sorry Barbi I was out of town catching a Hell Yeah concert in Vegas and was away from KZbin. I've done both seed and plant as far as lavender is concerned. I'm not quite sure what type of zone your in. I'm high desert and forest. Where your living and the climate can help or hender growth. I would suggest getting a plant and see how it behaves in your environment. It could just be how your going about germinating your lavender seeds. I'm just not sure. Hope this helps.😊

Simply the bast yurt video I have ever seen. No yurt company glossing over the hard parts. So lucky that no wind and rain during the install. Moisture between those roof layers would;d have NEVER dried out. Can't wait to see the interior build with services installed. I assume wet wall will be on the side where the bathroom yurt will be added. A large front entry deck with a covered entertainment and outdoor cooking area would be fantastic. I can't believe that you two accomplished this. I don't think four of me could do it!

I would say living off the land makes less footprint, because even plant based industries use unbelievable amounts of resources in production. BUT that does not mean, that you cannot still be vegan! Perhaps your path will be to combine the two. Just like people would say, "you cannot be a vegan and an athlete at the same time", but you proved them wrong, right?! Well, why not be "vegan off the land" and prove even more people wrong? 😉

Isn’t martial arts practice part spiritual? Why would you want to create the karma of taking another life? Also, you’re worried about drinking artificial sweeteners, but haven’t you considered all the fear hormones the animal will have from being hunted? Then you will ingest those.

You two did a great job, a suggestion for the front door until you build your deck. Use some strips of plywood to build up the surface under the extruded aluminum that extends out past the drip line to support it. It will protect it from getting bent. Again just want to say, fantastic job, you showed a great deal of creativity and adaptability in the process.

By far the best part of watching your videos is the look I see between you from time to time. I have been married 38 years and my wife and still have that look. We also walk hand in hand from time to time. The more often the better.

Sitting in your doorway had to feel so good after what it took to get to that point. What an incredible journey. Love that I get to come along. Thanks!

What a great climate you are in with a 9a hardiness zone without any of the blistering heat! I'm so jealous. I'm in 8a and 7 months a year it can get really hot. 90s is typical for 6 months and 100s for about 4 months. Your Yurt building series was fun to watch. It shows a lot of ability to think outside the box.

Oh my gosh Jake and Nicole!! Congratulations on a job well done! It's bittersweet for me, as I sit here and think... now what? Haha But am so proud for you two, that you can put another tic on your to do list. I know you have a whole life of adventures ahead and am grateful that I've been able to "come" along and live vicariously through you two. It's been said before, by I'm sure a plenty, but I'll say it again! You two are my favorite KZbin channel of all time. Your how I wind down for the day. I see you and appreciate what you guys do. 💗 Big hugs from Colorado
